Tribal Lord: SSS Ranked Taming Primitive Beauties and The Beasts! Chapter 39
CLANK!
The impact was brutal.
The Lizardman’s feet sank deep into the earth, cracks spiderwebbing outward as its legs bent under the overwhelming force.
Old Ni felt it immediately, the big guy in front of him had the raw strength surpassing his own.
Without hesitation, he kicked off the Lizardman’s abdomen and flipped backward, creating distance before the counterattack could come.
The moment his feet touched the ground, he slashed again. Another (Sever the Line) skill—this time he only used one-third of his remaining mana.
A wide horizontal arc tore through the air.
The Lizardman tried to dodge, but the Sword Domain dragged at its movements, slowing it just enough.
Forced to block, it coated its greatsword in dense mana and took the attack head-on.
The slash slammed into it.
The Lizardman was driven backward over a dozen meters, its feet carving deep trenches into the ground as it struggled to maintain balance.
Old Ni didn’t give it time to recover and immediately charged again.
This time, he aimed to finish it.
The Cinderfall Sovereign flashed upward, intending to cut straight toward the Lizardman’s neck.
At the last possible instant, the Lizardman tilted its head. The blade missed a clean decapitation but still tore through scales and flesh.
Dark blood sprayed as a deep gash was carved across its neck.
The 5th Rank Lizardman staggered backward, its left hand snapping up to clutch its neck. The wound was deep enough to expose muscle, the cut ran diagonally.
The Inferno Flame trace ignited an instant later, the flesh sizzling as regeneration was forcibly suppressed.
"HISSS—!"
The Lizardman hissed in pain and fury, its pupils shrinking as mana surged instinctively to heal the damage. Steam rose from the wound as the Inferno Flame burned into it, refusing to let the flesh close cleanly.
Old Ni didn’t stop.
The moment his feet touched the ground after the slash, he twisted his waist and followed through, driving forward relentlessly.
The Lizardman roared, its tail lashing out like a steel whip.
Old Ni crossed his sword instinctively in response.
BAM!
The impact sent him skidding backward, his bare feet tearing through dirt as he barely maintained balance.
Pain shot through his arms, but he clenched his teeth and steadied himself before the Lizardman could press the advantage.
The Lizardman straightened, blood still pouring from its neck, yet its expression became fiercer than it ever had been.
Mana exploded from its body. The pressure slammed outward, snapping branches as the Lizardman lifted its greatsword with both hands.
Thick mana wrapped around the blade, forming jagged ripples along its edge.
Then it charged forward. Even slowed by the Sword Domain, its sheer mass and strength made the charge overwhelming.
In response, Old Ni raised Cinderfall Sovereign and poured some mana into his legs.
The two clashed again in the narrow space between towering trees.
The Lizardman swung horizontally, the greatsword tearing through the air ferociously.
Old Ni ducked low, the blade passing above his head, then stepped inside the lizardman’s guard.
He thrust upward, aiming for its chest, but the Lizardman twisted its body and brought its knee up.
BOOM!
The impact sent Old Ni flying backward. He crashed into a thick tree trunk, bark exploding outward as he coughed up blood.
Before he could recover, the Lizardman charged again, raising its sword overhead.
Old Ni rolled sideways just in time.
CRASH!
The greatsword slammed into the ground where he had been, splitting the ground open and uprooting the tree behind him.
Old Ni pushed himself up immediately.
The Lizardman turned as it was breathing raggedly, blood soaking its chest and shoulder. Its regeneration was visibly struggling against the Inferno Flame burns.
Then he stepped forward again with a roar, rushing him head-on.
The Lizardman roared and rushed him head-on.
At the last instant, Old Ni twisted his body and let the greatsword pass inches from his side. He used the opening to slash upward, cutting deep into the Lizardman’s body.
Another burning wound tore open.
The Lizardman howled and swung blindly.
Old Ni leapt backward, then immediately slashed diagonally as he used his (Sever the Line) skill, nearly emptying the last of his mana.
This time, the sword energy compressed, making a razor-thin line. A faint red glow traced its edge as the thin blade of energy sliced through the air without resistance.
The line passed through the Lizardman’s neck cleanly.
For a split second, the Lizardman froze as its eyes wide in disbelief. Then a thin crimson line appeared across its throat.
Its head slid free and fell to the ground.
The massive body stood motionless for a heartbeat before collapsing forward, falling into the ground with a heavy thud.
Old Ni breathed haggardly for a moment before cancelling his (Sword Domain) skill and uncorking another 5th Rank Mana Potion and gulped it down, refreshing his body as his mana was filled up entirely once again.
"I guess it’s not a waste to upgrade your rank with an extremely high price." Ash chuckled as he approached the old man who was still looking down at the dead body in front of him.
"Thank you—"
Before Old Ni could properly thank him, Ash cut him off as he waved his hand while putting the Lizardman’s carcass into the inventory. "I told you multiple times that you don’t need to act formal with me, we’re a family after all."
Vakra, who was looking at Old Ni with bright eyes, instantly shifted his attention to Ash when he heard the last words. "Tribe Lord, can you also—"
"Get lost!" Ash kicked him aside and rolled his eyes, thinking that this motherfucker had always been so worked up to become stronger and pestering him to help him every once in a while.
If it wasn’t because his potential was high, considering that he was upgraded with the highest level of mission and his stats were multiplied by seven times, he would’ve thrown him aside and won’t bother to even entertain him until now.
"What’s the plan now?" Uncle Zan raised an eyebrow.
"Hmmmm..." As put his fingers on his chin, calculating some things that he had in mind.
A few moments later, Ash converted the 5th Rank Monster to System Points and looked at his points.
[Ding! You have converted One 5th Rank Monster Core.]
[Ding! You have obtained 100,000 System Points.]
[Tribal Points: 29,914] [System Points: 200,000]
’Two more tribes and I’ll be able to upgrade Uncle Zan.’ He thought to himself.
"We’ll just stay here and just wait for the good news." Ash nodded his head.
"Alright if you say so." Uncle Zan sighed in relief when he looked at Ash’s calm expression.
Fifteen minutes later, Ash finally heard the notifications that he had been waiting for.
[Ding! Congratulations to the host! You have subjugated the ... Tribe!]
[Ding! Congratulations to the host for obtaining 5,000 Tribal Points!]
[Ding! Congratulations to the host for obtaining 50,000 System Points!]
Ash was pleased with the news that they managed to subjugate another tribe within a short time.
After another ten minutes, Ash heard another notification from the system and was overjoyed since now he could upgrade Uncle Zan to 5th Rank.
[Ding! Congratulations to the host! You have subjugated the ... Tribe!]
[Ding! Congratulations to the host for obtaining 5,000 Tribal Points!]
[Ding! Congratulations to the host for obtaining 50,000 System Points!]
Nevertheless, he didn’t immediately upgrade him as there was no rush and he had another idea in mind.
He contacted Harold, Riven, and Gorak to gather his groups and some 3rd Rank Warriors from the tribes they had subjugated to prepare themselves from subjugating another tribe.
This time, he planned to subjugate the Brakka Tribe since he felt that there was no need to rush things anymore.
50 minutes later, they finally gathered at the promised location not far away from the Brakka Tribe.
With the total of 69 3rd Ranks and 3 4th Ranks in this subjugation team, Harold was optimistic and assumed that there was no room for failure.
That was precisely why they charged ahead with full confidence.
However, the reality hit differently as they had never expected that the moment the Brakka’s warriors came out of their stronghold, there were 3 4th Ranks where it was said that they only had two.
Harold immediately reported this incident to Ash, since at this rate, it was a rather question whether they could subjugate this tribe through violence considering that they even had more 3rd Ranks.
Ash thought for a moment, then replied with a chuckle. "Can you wrap things up in less than 10 minutes if there was an addition of 2 4th Ranks?"
Harold instantly replied with a hearty laugh. "Of course."
"Good, I’ll leave it to you again." Ash then cut off the contact before informing Rokhan and Lothar to prepare themselves.
They were the previous Mirefang’s Tribe Lord and Chief War that Ash had taken a note of, as they chose their missions difficulty just below the hardest.
[Ding! 8,000 Tribal Points have been successfully deducted.]
[Ding! Congratulations to the host! Rokhan has successfully broken through to the 4th Rank Warrior.]
[Ding! 8,000 Tribal Points have been successfully deducted.]
[Ding! Congratulations to the host! Lothar has successfully broken through to the 4th Rank Warrior.]
The moment Ash heard the notifications from the system, a huge commotion suddenly erupted at the other side where Rokhan and Lothar became 4th Ranks.
The Brakka’s warriors were in shock since out of nowhere, two people from the opposite group became 4th Ranks all at once.
They couldn’t comprehend what happened as they had never even heard of such things before.
