Chapter 313: Chapter 313

Before long, everyone gradually woke up and gathered on the deck.

They looked at the island not far from them.

"What a small island."

"Is this the island you mentioned last night?" Chadite couldn’t help asking.

Upon hearing their conversation, Jason turned to look at them. "What were you two sneaking around doing last night?"

"Sneaking around? Watch your words," Alka retorted, nudging him with an elbow.

"Alright, everyone get ready. We’re going ashore to have a look."

The Sound of Dawn slowly approached the small island, stopped at its edge, and dropped anchor.

Everyone jumped off the deck and onto the beach.

Since the island was quite small, they didn’t leave anyone on the ship to guard it. Moreover, it wasn’t necessary.

After all, the ship they were on was a Ghost Ship. It would protect itself.

Alka and the crew didn’t need to worry too much.

At this point, the island’s beach was piled with various shipwreck remnants, almost covering the entire island. Numerous remnants also floated on the nearby seawater, some possibly being those they had seen yesterday.

The island had intercepted these remnants, but oddly enough, how could such a small island have collected so many?

"Some remnants might be from the past few days, but most are from many years ago," Chadite said, observing the surrounding wreckage.

Fresh ones were at the edge of the beach or floating on the surrounding sea, visible at a glance. They could even recognize markings on some ships, indicating they had departed the Homeland Sea with them.

But more debris was piled further back. Some of this wreckage was long decayed, gray and tattered, having lingered for an indeterminate time. Undoubtedly, they were ships that had once left Home Island.

Every decade or so, a group of people would leave, with some losing their lives upon departure.

The group scattered, exploring the wreckage on the beach. Follow current novels on 𝗻𝗼𝘷𝗲𝗹•𝓯𝓲𝓻𝓮•𝕟𝕖𝕥

Alka stepped on the sand and felt something hard beneath his feet. He brushed the sand aside with his leg, revealing bones buried beneath.

Looks like quite a few bodies were washed ashore.

Indeed, with all this wreckage, it would be odd if there were no corpses.

"Should we draw a map?" Chadite asked, coming beside Alka.

Looking at the island, Alka thought for a moment and nodded. "Let’s draw one. After all, it’s the first island; even if it has nothing, it’s of commemorative significance."

Chadite nodded. Silver ripples spread from under her feet as she started walking towards the island’s interior. The rest followed closely behind.

The island was indeed tiny, with sparse vegetation, but shipwreck debris was everywhere, even in the center. On some giant stones, and even in the earth buried beneath others, lay the remnants of broken ships.

This island, situated here, had collected the remains of an unknown number of ships through the ebb and flow of tides. It was clearly a ship’s graveyard.

The remnants in the island’s center were ancient, their age unknown, and had long since merged with the surrounding vegetation and earth. If not examined carefully, they would be undetectable.

But the amount of wreckage was excessive for an island of this size, especially with the vast, relentless sea nearby.

How did it manage to trap so much wreckage?

Honestly, it’s peculiar. Could it be because the island is right at some ocean current convergence point?

Thinking this, Alka nodded. Perhaps this was the reason. After all, he hadn’t paid attention to the exact flow direction of those currents, only sensing their constant forward movement.

After just a brief circuit of the island, Chadite nodded, indicating she had completed her survey. Alone, she went to the beach, found a spot, and took out her tools to start drawing.

The others also dispersed throughout the island to explore places they found interesting. Given the island’s size, spreading out wouldn’t matter.

"The Magic Power concentration here is quite high," Jason remarked, walking among the wreckage.

Alka, beside him, nodded. He had already felt it. The concentration here was a level higher than on the surrounding sea surface.

Could it be due to the wreckage of many Spellbound Ships? After all, the materials used by these Spell Ships could be considered Spell Materials. Not to mention the spells etched upon them; perhaps many goods imbued with spells were also buried on this island. And the bodies of those who perished. Though they might have decayed over time, their residual Magic Power still nourished the island.

A blue Flying Bird perched on Alka’s shoulder. Hearing the message the bird delivered, Alka patted Jason’s shoulder. "I’m heading over there. Enjoy your own exploration."

With a few leaps, he left his current position.

Soon he reached the beach.

Lucilia was on the beach, freely unleashing her power, sending sand and mud flying. Unable to release her power freely on the ship, here she was uninhibited.

Nearby, Chadite occasionally raised her head from her drawing board and said a few words. She was using this opportunity to accelerate Lucilia’s mastery over her power.

Seeing Alka approaching, she waved.

Alka walked over. By then, Chadite’s paper already showed a rough map outline and some details. This map was sufficient for Alka, and Chadite evidently knew this too. Though she was still sketching and coloring in more detail, she nonetheless called Alka over.

Alka blinked, looking at Chadite’s map.

By now, light spots were emerging on the map.

There really are some.

It must be the cargo from those wrecks.
