Trash of a Wealthy Family: My Gacha System Guarantees S-Rank Rewards Chapter 42

[Aiden’s POV]

As I sat to start the breathing method to match the mana supply needed, my own mana reserves were almost emptied out. So it would be useful if any unprecedented situation occurred.

However, as I tried to clear my mind to concentrate. The image of Seraphine falling, the system panel warning about her possible death, and the punch taken from the leader.

These images plagued my mind, stopping me from achieving the concentration needed. My thoughts started churning; why did this happen? Is it just a coincidence of traveling the ocean or my passiveness to act first?

Had I acted against my nature toward Nathan, maybe this type of rumor wouldn’t spread?

At this moment, I started questioning all my decisions, especially after I got the system. Have I truly not changed yet? I had already resolved myself to killing; that was unavoidable if I wanted to establish my rule. So where was I lacking?

For a moment, I even stopped my breathing technique and pondered the question. Because if I didn’t root out this issue of mine, it would certainly bring problems in the near future, from which I wouldn’t be able to fight my way through or escape from.

All the important decisions I made in my life that had led me to my current position flashed before my mind. This may not have been the ideal situation for such a reflection on self and scrutiny of every thought.

However, in response to the anger that shimmered beneath all this thought process. I decided, I need to whatever is needed to never be in such situation again, never need to run or escape.

Leaving everything aside as I contemplated, the only result I could find was that I always reacted to the situation. I never took the first step, always overthinking the result from my action and limiting myself.

If I didn’t think too much and had fought with Nathan for threatening me with the possibility of rumor, Seraphine may not have had to resort to this.

Only if I had acted first instead of waiting for someone to act against me first would I have had to take the unnecessary danger of sailing into a storm.

As all the thoughts pointed only in one direction to me, I found the reason behind such a passive nature. I want to establish my rule and bring changes in the world through my rule. However, I was limiting myself from acting first.

This was completely opposite to my dream but yet I was doing this because I was afraid of the repercussions. I was afraid of the backlash if I retaliated against the established norms, yet I dreamed of changing the way of the world.

Hypocritical, that’s the only word suited for my actions. If I change and challenge only when I reach the top, that would be easy; anyone could do it. If I want to establish a city that’s different then I would have to start from three bottom.

That meant acting first, setting the tone. Not waiting for someone to move against you to react to it. At that moment, I decided to change the fundamental way I acted. If I want to establish a rule that’s different, I would have to start by changing myself.

After this long analysis of my action, I opened my eyes and exhaled. As I turned around to ask Felicia to get ready to cast her spell as I started my breathing technique again, for real this time.

A huge ice wall, both in manner of height and length. I immediately used enhanced vision to check. I could almost see the top of the wall however, I couldn’t see the end of wall on both sides.

"How long and thick this wall is Felicia?" I asked.

"Ahh...mister, you woke up. You looked in deep meditation, so Felicia didn’t wake you up. I don’t know the exact details myself but it one of the best defensive ice spells I know."

"It’s amazing, isn’t it. Please praise Felicia, hehe," she seemed happy.

A smile bloomed on my face as I rubbed my finger on her head. "You did good; you are amazing. Ice princess," I praised her.

"Yay...mister called Felicia princess, thank you nice mister," she spoke enthusiastically.

"She is good, isn’t she, boss?" Thane remarked.

"Yes, she is," I answered as I stood up and looked at the 3 remaining summons who fought with pirates. They looked a bit disheveled, but otherwise they were fine.

"Thank you for work. When we get out of the situation, we would talk about our arrangement and what you guys have in your mind. For now, rest in the rooms available," I addressed them.

They nodded and left without saying anything. I sat back slowly against the raised boundary as I relaxed myself and started thinking about my next action.

I couldn’t leave White Claw behind like this; this would only add to the problem further. Just then a system panel appeared, bringing joy to my face.

[Due to spending some time on Ocean, you have unlocked a new temporary banner.]

[Deep Tide Banner is now available for two weeks.]

"Right on time system," I commented; my thoughts raced on how to use this to advantage. I opened the banner descriptions first.

[Deep Tide Banner: This banner named after ocean has rewards like skills, techniques, resources, and summon, etc related to Ocean and water.]

"Okay, let’s narrow it down. First, make the banner permanent. Then create a summoning sub-banner under this banner," I conveyed my thoughts.

[Commencing the orders of host]

[Congratulations on creating a Deep Tide Permanent Banner]

[–2000 Origin Points]

Seeing the points hurt a bit, but it was worth it.

[Creating a Deep Tide Summoning sub-banner...]

[–200 Origin Points]

[A new sub-banner created]

[Would you like to pull gacha under this banner?]

"Since this is my first pull under this banner, the first bonus is still applicable to the system?" I asked.

[Affirmative, Host]

"Please perform the first 10 pulls under the Deep Tide Summoning banner," I ordered.

[Commencing 10 gacha pulls under the Deep Tide Summoning banner...]

[First pull bonus applicable...]
