Chapter 88: Chapter 88
The truck driven by Marlyn was going so fast. While the SUV behind her continues to chase them. They saw a red light flashing when they were at a major road intersection. Marlyn had to make a very difficult decision.
Jonea opened her eyes in fright when she saw the green light turn red. While Marlyn did not reduce the speed of the car at all. From the right side of the road appeared a container truck speeding fast.
The horn of a container truck echoes in the cold night. Marlyn screamed when the truck's lights shone on her and Jonea's faces.
"No!" Jonea shouted at last.
At that time, Marlyn immediately swerved to the left.
The back of the car driven by Marlyn was hit by the truck's body, causing it to roll over and roll in the middle of the road.
The horn echoed because Marlyn had accidentally pressed it while they were tumbling. Their bodies shook violently. The car was dragged several meters before finally stopping in the middle of the road. Shards of glass scattered everywhere.
While in a state with almost no hope of life, fragments of events suddenly flashed through Jonea's mind. Her memory is back.
Biggest pushed Jonea out of the warehouse that day through a side door. He asked Jonea to run away as far as possible.
The girl ran scared into the dark forest. She just ran without knowing which direction to go.
Jonea's survival instincts guide her every step. Even though Jonea was sure that she had left the warehouse, she could hear a lot of absorbing footsteps following her.
"They followed me? Fucking pack of wolves! Who exactly are they?"
With a gasping breath and a burning chest, Jonea still kept running. Occasionally her feet tripped over the roots of trees and rocks. The girl fell to her knees and rolled several times. However, she still got up and started running again.
The howls of the wolves drew nearer to her. Jonea believes there are quite a number of them. The girl was very tired and felt like giving up.
A black wolf with yellow eyes caught up with her. The wolf jumped up and was ready to pounce on Jonea's back. The girl thought her life would end that night.
"No!" Jonea shouted, crossing her arms over her head.
The girl closed her eyes tightly and was terrified as she imagined the sharp fangs and nails would penetrate her flesh.
A few seconds passed, and nothing happened. Jonea heard the wolves moaning and growling. However, none of the wolves pounced on her or attacked her.
The girl lowered her hands and slowly opened her eyes. Surprised, she saw the black wolf that came with the pack stop and faces a large white wolf. Jonea was crying without her noticing.
"Aland?"
Jonea recognized the white wolf very well. Jonea sobbed even more and could no longer contain the emotions in her chest.
"I have to do something to help Aland. There's no way he could take on the wolves alone."
According to Jonea's prediction. The three wolves directly attacked Aland from different directions. They fight with unequal numbers.
Jonea began groping the forest floor. She was looking for anything that could be used for weapons.
The black wolf managed to rip Aland's left arm off. The youth rolled over and returned to his human form. Aland held his injured left arm with his body mixed with sweat and forest soil.
The black wolves returned to their human form. They were well-muscled men in their early 30s and with killer eyes. Jonea also noticed they had tribal tattoos on their backs.
"Get out of the way!" threatened the black wolf. "Don't get in our way if you don't want to be last like your other friends in the warehouse."
“Biggest?: hissed Jonea. "What have you done to him?"
The black wolf groaned as it showed its rising dance at Jonea. He looked at the girl sharply. The black wolf was ready to jump at Jonea, but Aland stopped him.
"Don't even think about touching my girl!" said Aland with a look so piercing and full of anger.
Jonea was still sitting on the humus ground clutching the rotten leaves tightly. Jonea could only move her jaw to hold back the shaking.
"What is wrong with me? Why am I so weak? Why am I so scared of them?"
The wound on Aland's left arm had closed again, and there was no trace. He turned back into a white wolf and attacked the pack of black wolves alone.
The pack of black wolves came even more. When the opportunity arose, Aland immediately approached Jonea.
"Climb on my back, Jonea!"
Jonea had no choice. She immediately climbed on Aland's back in the form of a huge white wolf. Jonea hugged Aland's neck and closed her eyes.
Aland ran at high speed carrying Jonea through the forest. With his four strong legs, Aland slipped between the trees and jumped over the rocks; even on the inclined plane, he was agile and didn't slip at all.
"Who exactly are they? Why are they hunting me?"
"I can't explain it to you right now, Jonea. We must focus on saving ourselves. They have no intention of letting us off the hook tonight. Hold on tighter!"
Aland jumped very far. Jonea's body felt like it was floating.
The girl's tears were swept away by the wind. She was so tired and scared. Jonea feels like she's stepped into a world she never imagined existed. In fact, she was actually running through the forest on the back of a white wolf.
"We're almost at Pack Hamilton. Just be patient a little more. We'll be safe there."
Jonea could barely tell where the boundary between the pack and the outside world Aland was referring to was. When they entered a forest area with fewer trees, they slowly began to see dozens or even dozens of wolves welcoming them. Behind the wolves began to appear semi-permanent tents.
Aland stopped at a clearing that resembled a gathering place. All around, there are tents made of wood, and the colors blend with nature. There were several tent houses, but only one was the largest, at the far end.
Aland dropped Jonea by a bonfire that looked like it had just been lit. When looking at the place, Jonea felt like she was at a summer camp. The place looks beautiful and comfortable.
"Are you all right, Jonea? For the time being, you will be safe here."
"Where are we now? What place is this?" Jonea needed clarification, looking at the place.
As Jonea backed away, she seemed to bump into Aland's bare chest.
Jonea, who was shocked, immediately turned around. Aland stood there with such an intense gaze. He kept looking at Jonea and then grabbed the girl's nape closer to him.
Aland landed a kiss that was quite rough and hot on Jonea's lips.
Jonea couldn't refuse. She put her body in Aland's arms. The girl closed her eyes and seemed to want to drain all the tension out of her. Being in Aland's arms made Jonea feel calm and so comfortable.
The girl could feel Aland's heart pounding and her scent, which was so distinctive and mixed with the scent of the forest. Weakly, Jonea placed her palms on Aland's bare chest.
'I've always wanted to touch her,' thought Jonea.
When Aland let go of the kiss, Jonea fell and was unconscious. Aland caught the girl's body and held her in his arms.
When Aland was about to go to the biggest tent, a group of wolves previously guarding the territory boundary turned into a girl and a boy. They knelt on one knee in front of Aland and saluted.
"We've chased the wolves away, Alpha," one of the betas reported.
"Find out which pack they came from? Who sent? And what is their real goal? Make sure to keep watch around the area. Don't let anyone else sneak in here."
"Ready to go, Alpha!" They all answered in unison.
Jonea could feel the warmth of Aland's body and her regular breathing when Aland held her. Jonea felt like she was being rocked. But her eyes felt so heavy, and want to continue to sleep. Jonea didn't know what had happened to her. Previously, she was fine. Now she felt like she was bewitched.
"Sorry, Jonea. I have to leave you here for a while. Rest for a while until your body recovers," whispered Aland after he brushed the strands of hair from Jonea's ear.
Aland laid Jonea on his bed in the main tent.
"I have unfinished business to finish. I'll be right back, my mate!"
Bang!
The loud collision between Marlyn's car and the asphalt brought Jonea back to her senses. She had an accident. Her body overturned along with Marlyn in the mini truck.
The window glass shattered, and some of it hit Jonea's skin. Marlyn was unconscious because her head hit the steering wheel.
The streets are so quiet. Nothing helped them. When their vehicle overturned in the middle of the road, an SUV approached and stopped not far from where they were.
Jonea has begun to be able to move her body even though she still feels stiff. She unbuckled the seat belt holding her with great difficulty, and shook Marlyn's body.
"Get up, Marilyn! Open your eyes. We have to get out of here."
Marilyn didn't respond. Fresh blood was pouring from the girl's temple. Jonea is really sorry that everything happened because of her.
"How could I forget that Aland saved me from the black wolves that night?"
Jonea wakes up in a hospital bed. She believed Aland sent her to the hospital and asked Marlyn to take care of her. Now, they are running away again from a hunter whose identity Jonea doesn't know yet.
Jonea could see two men getting out of the SUV from her overturned car. They crossed a wide crossroads and were about to head in Jonea's direction.
Jonea also recognized one of the men as a black wolf hunting her in the forest.
"No! No!" she screamed.
She tried hard to open the car door but got stuck. Jonea kicked the broken glass remains in the front window with her legs still weak and started crawling out.
When two men dressed all in black with tribal tattoos on their bodies approached, Jonea got out of the car and tried to run away.
