Chapter 56: Chapter 56

The black SUV carrying Edison stops at a closed nightclub. The men in all-black suits dragged Ed by force into the club, which was full of guards, even though there were no customers.

They took him to a particular room which became the office of the club administrator. During the day, the club is tranquil. There were only a few workers doing the cleaning and a few staff who looked like gangsters walking in and out of the place.

Edison's hands were tied with a strong rope. He kept rebelling and didn't want to be dragged around like a loser. But, the two well-built men who carried him didn't want to let their guard down. They held tightly to Ed's arms and kept pushing until they stopped in front of the office door.

One of the men knocked on the door before opening it.

"Boss, we've brought him here."

"Let him in," replied a gray-haired man in his 60s. The man rose from the high-backed chair holding an uncut cigar.

Two bodyguards pushed the still-bound Ed to his knees in front of the Boss's desk. Ed's eyes and face were bruised, but he gradually recovered and began to see clearly.

When he saw the Boss walk away from his desk, Ed gave him a disgusted grin.

"I told you, Jay, I don't want anything to do with you guys anymore!" Ed hissed.

The man called Jay immediately ordered his two men to get out. They left the office and closed the door carefully.

"You cannot escape your responsibilities, Young Master. Sorry if we did it rudely. Because we have no other choice. We've been waiting for your arrival for weeks, and you don't seem the least interested. Even just to talk privately with me.

"Are you deaf, old man? I already rejected you. Even I have decided to live my own way!"

Jay walked away from his desk, lighting a freshly trimmed cigar. He sat on the table's edge right in front of Edison, who was still on his knees with his hands tied behind his back.

Jay also had a golf club in his hand. As if it was a threat to Edison not to do or do something in vain.

"Decided to live your own way?" repeated Jay, puffing cigar smoke into the air.

Jay spun a little, picked up something from the table, and threw it before Edison. "Is life like that?"

Still kneeling on the floor, Ed looked down at the number of photos scattered there. Ed opened his eyes wide and was so angry when he saw the stolen images.

"You?" Edison raised his face with an angry look and stabbed Jay.

"You will not escape your fate, Edison Fuller!"

Punch!

Jay swung the golf club in his hand and hit Ed's body until the young man fell to the floor.

On the other hand, Jonea, with her scooter, continued to follow the black SUV carrying Edison. She stopped when she saw the car parked in front of a closed nightclub.

Jonea is aware of the significant risks that will be faced. But, Jonea couldn't let it go when she saw her friend being kidnapped and hurt by those thugs.

The girl parked her scooter a few meters from the Madan club. She also brought a baseball bat that she had prepared from home. Jonea also keeps a silver peg given to her by Aland in her trouser pocket.

The girl wore a hat and closed her jacket hood over the cap. Jonea tried to hide her face. She didn't want to be recognized by people.

With her chest pounding and the courage she mustered up, the girl firmly gripped the baseball bat in her right hand and walked briskly toward the club.

"This is like suicide," Jonea muttered. "But, I have no other choice. Calling the police would be pointless and too long. The werewolf police won't believe my claim that I'm only human."

Two big men with long hair guarded the entrance to the club. Several tattoos adorn half of their faces and stumpy arms. When he saw Jonea coming with a baseball bat, one of the club guards immediately reached out and blocked Jonea.

"Who are you?" asked the man in a big voice.

"Let me in! I want to pick up my friend you kidnapped and bring him here!" Jonea shouted, flashing her baseball bat.

The big man laughed and thought Jonea was making a joke.

"This is a nightclub, not a place to keep kidnap victims!" he said, glancing at his longish friend and begging him to shoo Jonea away.

The long-haired man pointed. "Hey, Boy, if you wanna play baseball, get on the field! But, if you want to be mature, you can come here tonight. Even if you have money. Ha ha ha…."

Jonea doesn't like being belittled. "I want you to let go of my friend! I'm not leaving until you let him out."

"Your friend?" the longish frown. "None of your friends are here, Boy! Little brats like you should go to kindergarten, not to the grown men's club!"

They thought Jonea was a teenage boy.

Jonea didn't want to just walk away empty-handed. She turned around, pretending to leave but then turned again and dashed her way through the defenses of the two big men.

The two club guards were angry that Jonea had tricked him. They tried to grab Jonea by the arm, but the girl dodged and hit the long-haired man with her baseball bat.

His other colleagues were also angry and disturbed. He thought Jonea was just playing around, but she seemed serious. Fights are unavoidable. The two big men began to be overwhelmed by a girl who looked like a teenage boy.

The commotion was heard all the way into the club. One of the staff ran and knocked on the Boss's office door.

As the staff walked in, he saw Ed bleeding from a golf club on his knees, holding a photograph.

"What is it?" Jay asked, taking a sip from his cigar.

"There was a little commotion outside, Boss. A teenager tries to break in and cause chaos. Said he wouldn't go if his friend didn't come out." The staff reflexively glanced at Ed.

Ed's head held high. He thought quickly and thought that it was Jonea.

'Looks like these idiots mistook Jonea for a teenage boy.' Edison clenched his hands which were still tied, and immediately got up while attacking Jay.

The staff held and gripped Ed's upper arms.

"Don't hurt her!" shouted Edison.

Jay pressed his cigar into the ashtray and then signaled to his men for the intruder to be brought there.

"I want to see in a person who this troublemaker with big balls is? Until she sacrifices herself to save a useless youth like you, Ed."

They both turned toward the door when two prominent men dragged Jonea. The girl rebelled by screaming and kicking. But her strength was entirely incomparable for those two big men.

"I said don't hurt her!" Edison shouted at Jay.

As soon as Jonea saw Edison in the office with his face covered in blood, she stopped struggling.

"Ed, are you okay?"

"Interesting." Jay claps. "What is your real relationship? Why are you willing to barge in here just to save a useless youth like him?" said Jay, grabbing Edison's hair.

Jonea was furious. "Maybe in your eyes, he is useless. But there must be people who don't want to lose and don't want him to get hurt. You kidnapped him by force. It's illegal!"

"Do you know what your friend has done?" Jay asked Jonea. "Wait! Uh… I understand now!"

Jay grinned and glanced at Ed.

"It turns out she is… a girl?"

Jay left Ed and took off Jonea's hat. Jonea tried to kick Jay, but the man dodged easily.

The two large bodyguards who were dragging Jonea were shocked. They looked at Jonea together. They only realized after Jonea's hat was taken off by Jay.

"Wow, this is really interesting! There was a human girl who was willing to die to save a useless alpha werewolf. Do you really want to save this young man?" Jay asked Jonea.
