Chapter 46: Chapter 46

"Miller!" cried Elmar.

He hugged Jonea from behind tightly. The girl gasped and froze.

'Miller?' thought Jonea. 'Who is this person?'

"Miller, I'm so glad to see you here!" Elmar kept his arm around Jonea's neck from behind and rested his chin on the girl's shoulder.

Jonea rebelled and tried to escape. 'I'm not Miller,' she thought. 'Damn it!'

"Miller, I really missed you, my Underclassman."

Jonea bit Elmar's arm around her neck. Elmar screamed in pain and let go of his hug. He shook his aching hand.

"What is this?" Jonea shouted loudly and turned around. "You… want to harass me? Bastard, man!"

"Oh, sorry!" Elmar froze for a moment. "Sorry, I thought you were Miller. Are you Jonea? At first glance, your faces are very similar. Moreover… your hair is also short. We last met at a charity night; you put your hair up in a bun."

Elmar bowed apologetically and kept apologizing.

Jonea became nervous. She lost orientation with her own identity. Jonea was determined to return to being herself as Jonea when she was at home. However, she had even forgotten that she had cut her hair short in Miller's style.

Jonea quickly pulled up her hoodie jacket to cover her hair. She watched Elmar from head to toe and was shocked.

"You…?" Jonea pretended to forget about Elmar to cover up her mistake.

Elmar reached out. "We meet again. It's like a beautiful fate."

"But what are you doing here? Without wearing shoes? And… wear women's clothes?" Jonea raised her eyebrows high.

When reminded again of the shoes, suddenly Elmar pranced because the soles of his feet felt very cold.

"Ha ha ha…." Elmar laughed in embarrassment. "Yeah, there was a bit of an accident. I was very drunk last night and when I realized I had lost my clothes. I'm lucky to still find this pink blouse."

Jonea couldn't believe it. She narrowed her eyes. "And… you sleep on the side of the road? Looks like you're really drunk. Do you need help? I can call a taxi for you."

Elmar was so embarrassed. "No need. I'm okay," he said. "I can walk to the front and hail a taxi from there. By the way, is your house nearby?" Elmar looked right and left.

Jonea took a deep breath.

'After all, Elmar once saved me when I was chased out of the dormitory by Hunter. I can't just leave Elmar barefoot this winter,' thought Jonea.

"Come with me," said Jonea.

"Where to?" asked Elmar eagerly. "Are you going to take me to your house?" Elmar laughed happily. "I didn't think it would be this fast. I wasn't ready to meet your family dressed like this."

Elmar kept talking as he walked, following behind Jonea.

Annoyed, Jonea suddenly stops, and Elmar bumps into her. The girl turned around and raised her hands in disbelief.

"Of course, I'm not bringing you home looking like this. And I will only take you to the market. At the end of the road is a traditional market selling some clothes and footwear."

Elmar jogged after Jonea. "I see you brought a scooter. Why are we walking?"

Jonea stared coldly at Elmar. "No. The market is only a few meters from here. We'd better walk. I feel a little uncomfortable if I have to hitchhike you on a scooter. I was quite traumatized by Ed before."

"Ed? You mean… Edison?" Elmar was genuinely curious. "How did you get together with Edison?"

"Huh? You… misunderstood!" Jonea quickly corrected her statement. "Not your friend Edison I mean. But, the dogs in our house. Yes, his name is Ed," Jonea said quickly.

Elmar pursed his lips. "You hitchhike a dog on a scooter? That's quite interesting."

"It was very troublesome, actually," Jonea corrected Elmar.

They walked a few meters until they left the pedestrian tunnel and arrived at a traditional market. Jonea took a look at some of the items being sold there. She went to the clothes and shoes stall.

"Come… come, please choose. You're going to buy shoes for your boyfriend, miss?"

Jonea blushed, and Elmar was delighted to be mistaken for Jonea's lover.

"We have some footwear that might suit him or maybe a pink sweater?" asked the merchant, glancing at Elmar's blouse and holding back a laugh. "Your boyfriend has unique tastes, miss. Do you guys usually change clothes like this?"

Elmar looked away. He was so embarrassed. He could only lower his head to hide his face. He didn't want people to know him as a famous artist but dressed like a madman on the suburban streets. Elmar covered his face with his long hair.

Jonea almost forgot that Elmar is a model and a famous artist.

'Bad. If someone recognizes him, it will also be risky for me and Elmar.'

Jonea took out a tracksuit and house slippers and quickly paid for them without thinking.

A woman shopping and selecting clothes suddenly stopped and was stunned while pointing at Elmar.

"You… you're the star of that movie!" she exclaimed.

Elmar panicked. "No!" he argued. "How could I be a movie star? Just look at my shabby appearance," said Elmar.

"Uh, no. I bet you're the star of that movie. Yes, you're Elmar Delamo. If that model, right? That's your picture hanging big on the billboard. You guys are so alike!" said the woman, pointing at the billboard across the street.

Some people who were shopping at the market became interested. They even took out cell phones and pointed them at Elmar. The young man quickly covered his face, and he looked so flustered.

Jonea, in an attitude, covered Elmar's head with the tracksuit she had just bought and pulled the young man out of the market. They ran from the crowd into the alleys between the deserted shops.

They breathed heavily and stood with their bodies bent.

"Wow… that is so terrible!" Jonea said breathlessly. "The ladies at the market are after us."

Jonea didn't notice as Elmar silently watched her. While running away from the fans, Elmar enjoyed when Jonea's soft hands grabbed and dragged him possessively.

Elmar felt very happy. He had never been cared for in such a way. Because this is the second time he's done the same thing with Jonea. Elmar was so happy to see the smile and joy on Jonea's when she managed to escape.

When Jonea stood upright in the middle of a quiet alley, suddenly Elmar grabbed the girl and pushed her against the wall between the alleys.

Elmar lowered his head slightly and wanted to kiss Jonea. Jonea was too shocked that she couldn't do anything and just gaped.

Elmar lowered his head and brought his lips closer to hers. Elmar suddenly smiled and realized his folly.

"Sorry," Elmar said. "I don't know why you always tempt me, even though you don't do anything."

Jonea immediately looked down and felt embarrassed. She got carried away. The girl was angry and clenched her fists. She punched Elmar in the chest so hard that the young man was pushed, and his back hit the side of the wall.

Jonea threw a plastic bag at Elmar, which contained the house slippers she had bought earlier. Then, Jonea turned and left Elmar in the alley just like that, holding back her embarrassment.

"Good grief! What did I just do?" regretted Elmar. "John, wait! I did not mean it."

Jonea ignored him. She left Elmar and ran faster and faster. Elmar couldn't chase after her, or the citizens following him would catch him.

Elmar lingered in the alley for a while, calming his violent heartbeat.

Elmar smiled and bit his clenched fist. "Why the girl? She's not at all the type of girl I like."

Elmar's phone vibrates. He reached into his trouser pocket and read the message.

In his sports car, Hunter kept tapping his fingers on the wheel. He watched the bustling streets around him. His lips never stop grumbling.

"What else is Elmar doing here? Why did he go to a slum like this? He's tough to predict."

At a crosswalk light, Hunter saw Elmar running. He wore a pink blouse and had his sports shirt draped over his head to partially cover his face. Elmar was barefoot.

"Is he crazy?" surprised Hunter with a frown.

When he arrived, Elmar quickly opened the door and sat in the passenger seat. He laughed contentedly and leaned his back against the back of the chair.

"What's wrong with you? You were robbed?" Hunter looks very worried. "Did you get into a fight? Fighting over a girl?"

In Elmar's hands, he held a pair of black house slippers. He hugged the sandals tightly and kissed the cheap sports shirt wrapped around his head. Then he turned to Hunter with a big grin.

"This is much more fun than you think. You don't know how it feels."

"Well… well…," exclaimed Hunter. "You must have just spent the night with a very hot girl? I only see this expression when you've just had an adventure with unusual girls."

Hunter quipped and started driving away from the busy streets of the suburbs.

"Did anyone catch you?" he asked.

Elmar froze. He turned to Hunter and said, "Hopefully not."

"Hopefully so?" shrieked Hunter. "You keep making scandals this year!"

Elmar laughed again while hugging the slippers he was holding.

"What's with the sandals? Why are you barefoot when you have sandals with you? You really are nuts. Are you still drunk?"

Elmar did not answer. He was too happy with his own thoughts.

While crossing the light crossing, Hunter's eyes caught on something. He noticed a fried chicken delivery scooter passing in front of him. Hunter squinted and thought he recognized the scooter driver.

Hunter tilted his head and suddenly muttered, "I seem to have gone mad. Why do I always mistake everyone who passes by as Miller?"

Elmar stopped smiling and turned to Hunter. "What about Miller? You got in trouble again with him?"

Hunter hissed, and suddenly, he stopped his car. Elmar nearly tripped over the dashboard.

"You're crazy, huh? Why did it suddenly stop after going so fast?"

"You can drive your own car, right? I'll get off here. I have a need." Hunter opened the door, ran out of the car, and headed across the street.

"Well! Hunter! Where are you going?" shouted Elmar.
