Chapter 89: Chapter 89

Valeria had finished taking her shower, she wore her clothes and she came out of the bathroom.

She hurriedly went to grab her bag from the floor, and she went out.

"I pray I don't run into Noah." Valeria muttered as she walked through the hallway.

She got to the staircase and she hurriedly went down the stairs.

The nice aroma of whatever Noah was preparing hit her nose hard, and her stomach rumbled, and she groaned. She didn't realize she was hungry until now.

"God, I still can't stay here. I had better leave before Noah comes," she muttered.

She looked at the kitchen and she sighed, she knew he'd be upset if he didn't find her, but what could she do? She couldn't bring herself to face him, not after what had happened.

"I'm sorry." She whispered.

She rushed to the door, and she slowly opened it, being careful not to make a sound. She did that successfully, and she went out, gently closing the door behind her.

Valeria hurriedly left Noah's mansion without looking back.

Noah was done cooking, he set the table for two, and he smiled at the job he'd done.

"I'm sure Valeria would love what I've done," he said with a smile.

"Is she still bathing?" He furrowed his brow.

"I'll go check up on her." Noah said, then he went upstairs to his room.

"Valeria." He called when he got inside.

"Are you still bathing?" He asked, but he got no response.

He walked to the bathroom and he knocked on the door.

"Vale..." He trailed off when he realized he couldn't hear the sound of a shower.

He turned the door knob and he saw it was unlocked. He opened the bathroom and he frowned when he didn't see Valeria in there.

"Where's Valeria?" Noah thought.

He rushed to the bedside table and he took his phone.

"I can't believe she left already." Noah said as he called her number.

Her phone was ringing but she wasn't answering it.

"Answer the phone, Valeria."

****

Valeria sat in the taxi, her phone was in her hand, she bit her bottom lip when she saw Noah's call.

"What do i do? Should I answer the call or not?" She groaned.

Noah had called her three times in a roll now, and it didn't look like he was going to stop calling her unless she picked up.

Her phone stopped ringing, only to start ringing again, and it was still Noah who was calling.

"Gosh!" Valeria heaved, then she answered the call.

"Hello."

"Valeria, I've been calling you for sometime now, why aren't you answering my calls? Where are you? Why did you leave without telling me? What happened?" Noah said.

"Uhm... I—"

"You what? Why are you stuttering? Just go straight to the point." Noah said impatiently.

"Fine, I had to leave because of my son," Valeria said.

"Son? Y...y...your baby is a boy?" Noah asked.

"Shit!" Valeria muttered, she had blurted out her baby's gender by mistake, she didn't want to tell Noah anything concerning Fred.

"Err... goodbye sir." She said and she hung up.

An hour later...

She got to the hospital and and she rushed to Fred's ward, because she knew he'd be looking for her now.

She went to his ward and she met the doctor there. From the look of things, he was actually saying a few words to Shane, while Fred sat on the bed, staring at them.

She coughed lightly and that made her presence known to them.

"Mama!" Fred called, widening his arms.

"My baby!" She smiled and she went to hug him.

"Umm, good day ma'am." She said to Doctor May.

"Thank goodness you're here, I just gave Shane a few prescriptions for your son. Unfortunately, the drugs aren't sold here, so you'll just go to a pharmacy in order to get the prescribed drugs," Doctor May, advised.

"And also, make sure he gets enough rest. Don't keep him up late at night, be careful with the type of food you give him." Doctor May said.

"But mama, I'm a strong boy now," Fred whined, which made Shane and Valeria chuckle.

Doctor May kept a serious looking expression.

"He won't be discharged now, until I've noticed an improvement in his immune system," Doctor May stated

"But ma'am, I thought he'd be discharged tomorrow or next," Valeria asked.

"No, he'll be here for a week or so, it all depends on how fast he recovers." Doctor May explained.

"Okay ma'am." Valeria replied.

Doctor May said nothing and she left.

"Where have you been, Valeria?" Shane asked sternly, acting like an overly strict mum.

"Umm Shane, can you just let it slide?" Valeria asked, but she received a glare from Shane.

"I asked a question Valeria, start talking!" Shane said and Valeria sighed.

"Stop yelling at my mama!" Fred scolded Shane.

Shane gazed at Fred but stared at him speechlessly.

"Come with me, Valeria," She said, and pulled Valeria outside.

She's going to squeeze everything out of Valeria's mouth today, and she meant business.

"Where are you taking my mama?" Fred half yelled, trying to jump down from the bed.

Valeria knew she couldn't afford to stress him, so she said.

"Just wait for me baby, I'll be back, I just have a few words to say to your aunt." Valeria said and that calmed Fred down, and he relaxed his back on the bed.

Shane successfully pulled Valeria outside and they both stood outside of Fred's ward.

"Don't let me repeat myself again." Shane warned.

Valeria knew she couldn't take Shane for granted, apart from the fact that Shane helped her in her most difficult moment, Shane is also three years older than her.

"I went to see Noah," Valeria said and she quickly hid her gaze away from Shane.

"You did what?!!" Shane yelled, attracting the passersby.
