"N.. no, that's not possible, that can't be possible." Valeria cried.

Valeria walked into Fred's ward. Her face was so pale, her eyes were red and swollen due to so much crying.

Shane immediately rushed to her side when she saw her.

"What's wrong, Val? Why do you look like this? What did the doctor say?" Shane questioned.

"Shane." Valeria managed to say, then she hugged Shane tightly before bursting into another round of tears.

"W what's wrong? What did the doctor say? Please, Val, stop crying or I'll cry as well. We need to be strong for Fred. We wouldn't want him to wake up and see you like this, please honey, pull yourself together," Shane comforted him softly, at the same time, patting Valeria's back in a comforting manner.

"What do I do, Shane?" Valeria said, then she pulled out of the hug.

"The doctor said Fred has a hole in his heart and he needs urgent surgery. The money for his surgery was 1•5 million. What do I do, Shane? I can't let anything bad happen to Fred, Fred can't die, Shane," Valeria cried.

"Oh God." Shantel gasp.

"It's okay, it's okay, we'll find a way out of this, nothing bad will happen to him, nothing bad will happen to Fred." Shane comforted him.

"I don't even have a job or any savings, I've got nothing, so how will the miracle happen, how will I save my son's life?" Valeria cried.

"Come here." Shane said, then she pulled Valeria into a hug.

"Please lord, help us, Fred can't die, we just can't loose Fred." Shane prayed silently.

Next morning...

"I'll be back soon, okay, I'll go home and prepare something for you guys, please Valeria, enough crying. We'll get through this together, okay." Shane said.

"Thank you Shane, I appreciate everything you've been doing for us," Valeria said.

"It's nothing babe, you're more than a friend to me, you're like my own sister, so no need to say thanks, i take Fred as my son too." Shane smiled.

"I'll be back soon okay." She said. Valeria nodded.

Shane went to give a sleeping Fred a kiss on his forehead, then she left.

Valeria sighed before going to sit beside Fred.

"Nothing will happen to you Fred, I promise to find a way." She said, she took his hand in hers, then she kissed it.

Shane couldn't help but sigh, she could see the dark circles under Valeria's eyes and she knew she'd cried herself to sleep.

"I hope everything gets sorted out soon," Shane said, and she stared at Fred.

"I hope you get better kiddo, I want us to continue our little fights, okay?" Shane said as tears slowly fell from her eyes. She'd been trying hard not to cry in the presence of Valeria, but she just couldn't hold it any longer.

She took Fred's hands and she rubbed them.

"You silly little thing, I can't believe I am actually crying because of you." She said and she laughed, then she suddenly began crying again.

Valeria arrived at the company as her eyes scanned around the huge building in front of her.

She walked into the company, she tried as much as possible to hide her tears.

She stopped, not knowing where she was headed, but she suddenly remembered the place where she had her interview.

She went there and she met the lady who called her in for the interview.

"Good morning ma'am." Valeria said.

"Morning." The lady replied, she could still remember Valeria as the lady from yesterday's interview.

"Umm is Noah..." She trailed off.

"I'm here to see the CEO, "she stated after composing herself.

"Oh, he has been inside his office all day. You can go in." The lady said.

"Thank you!" Valeria said and she made to leave but she halted.

"Umm, I don't know his office." She said.

"Oh, just go along the first floor, you'll see his office on your left. Let's say it's the only office around there." The lady explained and she left.

After searching for some minutes, she finally found it.

She heaved a sigh of relief and she stared around, not knowing how to go in.

"I'm doing this for Fred, not for my own personal interest, so I don't have to be scared." She encouraged herself.

She knocked on the door and she heard him mutter a come in from inside.

She slowly opened the door and she walked in.

She paused when she saw him staring deeply at her. She suddenly found herself staring back at him.

"N no, this isn't right." She said to herself and she composed herself.

"Just act like you don't know him from anywhere and you'll be fine." She thought.

Noah couldn't hide the joy he felt the minute he saw her.

"I'll take the job," She suddenly said, surprising him.
