Chapter 63: Chapter 63

Valeria was in the kitchen together with Mrs Emily, baking a cake. Mrs Shiella told them that she'd been craving a home-made cake.

Valeria was mixing the flour and sugar with other ingredients.

"Damn it!.

" Mrs Emily muttered.

"What is it, ma'am?" Valeria couldn't help but ask.

"I forgot to get some baking powder." Mrs Emily frowned.

"Can't we make it without baking powder?" Valeria found herself asking.

"No we can't, it won't give me what I actually want," Mrs Emily said.

"What are we going to do now?" Valeria asked.

"Well, you'll have to go to the supermarket," Mrs Emily said, and Valeria sighed.

"But you know I don't know my way around here," Valeria stated.

"You've been here for two years now and you still don't know your way around?" Mrs Emily scoffed.

"You know I don't go to the supermarket," Valeria said.

"Well, that's not my concern, I need the baking powder," Mrs Emily stated.

Noah actually went to get water when he overheard their conversation.

He stood in the doorway listening to them, something suddenly crossed his mind and he smiled dryly.

"I can tag along." Noah said, and Valeria immediately turned to him.

"What did you say?" Valeria asked to be sure she heard right.

"I'll come with you, I know you don't know your way around here," Noah said.

"Fine." She finally agreed.

"You can't tag along, Noah, just let her look for the supermarket herself. Mrs Emily said.

Valeria felt like giving Mrs Emily a tight slap on her face, she didn't care if she was older than her.

"It's fine, I decide to tag along because I have something to buy also." Noah lied, he just said that, so as not to make him look desperate.

"Okay fine, you can, please come back on time." Mrs Emily said and they both nodded.

Noah went out and Valeria trailed after him.

They got to the garage and he picked up one of his favorite cars and they drove off.

They finally arrived at the supermarket and Valeria rushed in, in search of the baking powder she needed.

She went in and she was confused about what to choose. Her eyes scanned around looking for it.

She spotted the baking powder up high on a rack, and she wasn't tall enough to get it herself.

She jumped up, trying to get it, but she suddenly felt someone's presence behind her and he took the baking powder for her.

She turned and she saw Noah smiling at her.

"Thanks for helping me." Valeria smiled and she took the baking powder from him.

She went to the counter and she paid for everything.

They wrapped the baking powder in nylon and she went back to meet Noah.

"Let's go!" She said to him.

Noah wondered why she hadn't fallen for his charms yet. He knew Valeria had no interest in him, but his brother.

"I said let's go." She said again when she felt he wasn't listening.

"Yeah," Noah replied, and they left.

Ergon was just returning home. He went to Valeria's room first, but he couldn't find her there, and so, he decided to check the kitchen.

He went to the kitchen and he met Mrs Emily and one other maid, but Valeria was not there.

"Where could she be?" Ergon thought.

"Mrs Emily." He called, and Mrs Emily turned over to him.

"Yes."

"I can't find Valeria anywhere, please, where's she?" Ergon asked.

"Oh, she went to get me some baking powder from the supermarket, together with Noah."

"What!!" Ergon half yelled, startling Mrs Emily and the maid.

"Why did you yell like that?" Mrs Emily snapped.

"Valeria went with Noah?" Ergon asked to be sure he heard correctly the first time.

"Yes, is there anything wrong with that, and besides, Noah said he wanted to get something from the supermarket too, and Valeria still doesn't know her way around here. Can you imagine that?"

"Anyways, forget it, I'm busy making a cake for your mother, so please, if you'll excuse me." Mrs Emily said, then she focused her attention on what she was doing.

"Valeria is supposed to be back by now." She muttered.

"Why did Valeria have to go with Noah?" Ergon thought in anger.

He hurriedly went outside, then he stood at the doorstep, waiting impatiently for them.

"I'm sure Noah didn't want to get anything."

"What the hell are you up to, Noah?" He whispered.

Noah's car finally drove in, he pulled up in front of the mansion, and Valeria stepped out first.

Ergon hurriedly rushed to Valeria's side, and he took hold of her hand.

"Ergon, what's wrong?" Valeria asked in surprise.

Noah balled his fists in rage, but he didn't say anything.

Ergon glared at Noah, then he pulled Valeria away.

"Ergon, what's wrong? Let me go, I need to give this to Mrs Emily, and you're hurting me." Valeria said as Ergon pulled her inside. She was also struggling to free her hand from Ergon's hold, but he was stronger than her.

Ergon didn't say anything, he pulled Valeria upstairs to his room, and when they got in, he locked the door. That was when he finally let go of her hand.

Valeria hissed in pain as she used her left hand to massage her right wrist.

"What the fuck was that?" She fumed.

"You almost damaged my wrist. Why did you have to pull me like that, huh?"

"Why were you with Noah?" Ergon asked, ignoring her question.

"What?"

"Why were you with Noah?" Ergon repeated. Valeria scoffed.

"Now I see what this is about."

"Just answer me Valeria." Ergon flared.

Valeria's gaze turned cold, she was so mad right now.

"Just because you saw me with Noah, you almost damaged my wrist. Well, you might as well know that he was helping me out. Ergon, I'm tired of you and this attitude of yours. You can't always be mad when you see me with Noah, you know, if you have any trust in me, then you won't always loose your cool like this." She cautioned.

"Do you even trust me at all?" She questioned.

Ergon couldn't say anything, he could only look at her, and Valeria equally looked at him.

She shook her head, then she sighed, she walked past Ergon, unlocked the door, then she left.

"Arrrg..." Ergon groaned as he ruffled his hair in frustration.
