Chapter 23: Chapter 23

Chapter 23 You Shouldn't Have Met Her

The woman twisted her waist more seductively and looked at Bella provocatively, "A woman like you is not qualified to be a prostitute!"

Mrs. Wilson glanced at her and then looked away.

Bella and the prostitute both disgusted her.

If it weren't for Edward, she wouldn't have stayed in the same room with these people.

After leaving here, she would throw away the clothes and jewelry she was wearing and disinfect her whole body, or she would be allergic.

Bella couldn't stand the woman's humiliation anymore. She looked at her and said loudly, "I don't know you. You're not qualified to judge me."

Seeing that Bella was angered, the woman was prouder, "Since you seduced the president shamelessly, you should bear it. You want the president as well as your dignity. You're too greedy."

Bella took a deep breath, "I'm married, and I have a husband. I'm not interested in the president. If you like him, chase after him. I have no objection!"

The woman's eyes lit up.

"Crack!" A crisp slap sounded in the office.

Bella covered her face and looked at Mrs. Wilson in disbelief.

Mrs. Wilson took a disinfecting wipe from the woman in black and wiped the hand she used to slap Bella, "As an uneducated woman, you're indeed so rude."

The woman in black had taken those women out. The woman who humiliated Bella glared at her before going out.

Mrs. Wilson threw the used wipe on Bella's face, "If you dare to seduce my son again, you'll suffer more."

Edward came out of the elevator.

Andrew ran ahead and opened the door of the president's office. Edward went in.

At a glance, he saw Mrs. Wilson sitting with her back to the door. He said, "Mom."

In front of the French window, Mrs. Wilson turned the chair and smiled at him, "Edward."

Edward was in X Club when he knew the news.

A friend he hadn't seen for a long time asked him for help. If he didn't show up, he would commit suicide at the door of X Club.

He didn't like to be threatened, and he hated cowards who escaped from reality by committing suicide.

So he told the friend on the phone that he could ask his bodyguard to shoot him.

Edward didn't act as the man had expected, so he offered to exchange all his property for Edward's help before Edward hung up.

Edward didn't know much about this friend, but everyone who knew him knew how stingy he was.

This matter finally aroused Edward's interest, so he went to see this friend.

It turned out that this man slept with a woman at a party.

He thought it was just an ordinary one-night-stand. To his surprise, the woman's fiance was a famous mafia boss. He had a hot temper and had killed many people.

The mafia boss sent someone to keep an eye on the woman and learned about their one-night-stand.

He realized he had been betrayed, so he cut off the woman's finger and planned to kill the man.

The man knelt in front of Edward, crying and begging Edward to help him.

When Edward was extremely irritated because of his cry, Andrew told him that Mrs. Wilson suddenly went to the company and took a group of women to Bella's office.

Edward knew his mother. Thinking that his mother would insult Bella, he couldn't be more anxious.

But the man held his leg and didn't let him leave.

Edward asked Andrew about the phone number of the leader of his former mercenary regiment. He would ask the leader to kill the mafia boss.

Then he kicked the man away, left X Club, and rushed back to the company.

Edward strode towards Mrs. Wilson.

Andrew went out, closed the door of the president's office, and guarded outside the door.

Edward frowned and said, "Mom, you should have told me before you came here."

He restrained his anger.

If she were not his mother, he would have taught her a lesson so that she wouldn't dare to hurt Bella again.

Mrs. Wilson's smile faded, "I'm your mother, not your subordinate. Do I need to report to you before I come to see you? Do you know how long we haven't met? A year and three months."

She emphasized the last few words.

Mrs. Wilson's husband had passed away. Edward was her only son. No words could describe how much she loved Edward, but he didn't understand her feelings.

Edward pulled his tie, "Don't say that. You know I'm busy."

Mrs. Wilson sneered, "you don't have time to go home to see me, but you have time to stay with that girl. Edward, you let me down."

Edward looked at Mrs. Wilson, "You shouldn't have met her."

His commanding tone annoyed Mrs. Wilson. She said, "If it weren't for your safety, I wouldn't have met that humble woman."

Mrs. Wilson narrowed her eyes, "She and your ex-wife are sisters. Her elder sister is vain and superficial. She doesn't even have a wolf. She is more snobbish than her sister!"

Edward had always been Mrs. Wilson's pride.

He was tall and handsome, and he was much more outstanding than others.

Countless women wanted to be his lover, but Lanny betrayed him.

When she knew this, she hired a killer to cut off Lanny's head.

However, when the killer sneaked into Lanny's bedroom and raised a sharp knife at Lanny while she was asleep, Edward stopped him.

Edward subdued the killer and took him to Mrs. Wilson.

Edward said it was useful to keep Lanny alive. That was why she didn't kill Lanny.

However, she didn't want Edward to be with Lanny's younger sister.

Mrs. Wilson stood up and looked at Edward, "Leave her immediately and go home with me."

Mrs. Wilson had selected several women with excellent family backgrounds and great characters for Edward.

As soon as Edward went home, she would arrange for him to meet those women.

"No." Edward refused Mrs. Wilson coldly and firmly.

Mrs. Wilson was so mad, "Why? Have you been bewitched by her?"

Mrs. Wilson wanted him to say no.

"She doesn't bewitch me. I'm attracted to her," Edward said.

He looked into Mrs. Wilson's eyes with a serious expression, "Bella is different from Lanny. She thinks I'm a poor disabled man, but she never despises me. I can tell you that she is not vain at all, and her heart is purer than crystal."

Mrs. Wilson said sarcastically, "Edward, you are used to pretending to be disabled, so you forget that she is not qualified to choose her husband. I can't let you live like this. Kill her."
