Chapter 112: Chapter 112
Chapter 112 True Color
Bella looked into the mirror and admired the round, full, softly lustrous pearl earrings hanging from her earlobe. The pearls were small in size, about five millimeters in diameter, but they were superior in shape and color, appearing small and delicate.
"These earrings match you perfectly!" Jenny exclaimed.
Bella pursed her lips and smiled. She had already bought a pair of goatskin gloves for Edward's aunt. Considering the season, the weather in London was wet and cold, a pair of soft gloves was a perfect gift for an old widowed woman, and the idea had come from Jenny, for which Bella was grateful. In the same way, Jenny offered to give Bella a parting gift, Bella again looked at the mirror, she has already made up her mind: that's it.
Suddenly, in the mirror, a tall black figure passed by. Bella turned her head to look behind her but found that there was no strange person around, maybe it was just her eyes that were mistaken.
"What's wrong?" Jenny wondered.
"Nothing. I thought there was someone behind me," Bella said while taking off her pearl earrings and handing them to the waiter to pack them up, "I'll take these earrings, please pack them up for me."
"Yes, ma'am."
Jenny paid the money and gave the packed earrings to Bella.
"Here you go. I don't know how long you'll be gone, but I promise I'll miss you."
Bella was so moved that she choked up and couldn't say a word, but held Jenny's hand tightly.
They walked out of the store holding hands. Bella noticed a man dressed in black looking at her from the escalator, looking as if they not only knew each other but he knew her well.
Bella pushed Jenny with her shoulder, looking straight ahead without any shift of her head, and said in a voice so low that only they could hear: "Do you see the man in black over the elevator? Don't stick your head out to look, I mean, watch him out of the corner of your eyes. Do you know him?"
"No, I don't remember knowing anyone like that. He seemed to be looking at you, don't you know him?" It took a few moments before Jenny spoke up.
"No," Bella said, a wave of nausea and desire to vomit welling up from within her. Being stared at by a strange man was not a pleasant experience, but it was far from simple, her instincts told her.
Get out of the way, get away, that's what her gut was telling her.
She tugged on Jenny's hand and led her in the opposite direction to the fire escape at the back of the mall, which led to a rarely visited alley. Bella made sure that man didn't follow. They went into the stairwell, which echoed with the sound of their footsteps. As they walked down the last step and pushed open the door that led outside, a cool breeze blew, lifting the hem of Bella's light skirt, and she heaved a sigh of relief. Finally, she got rid of that strange man.
Bella took out her phone and opened Google Map. It took 580 meters to walk from this alley to the parking place. They walked unhurriedly on the path, unaware of a silver-gray pickup truck parked at the end of the alley, the only car parked in the entire alley.
Bella approached the car and saw that people were sitting in the driver's and passenger's seats before she had a chance to see if there was anyone in the back seat. The backseat door was being opened, "Oh no!" She realized she was trapped, she tried to run, but it was too late, the car came down with two large men, their goal was clear, and that was to get Bella. The two men took Bella by the arms and shoved Bella into the car.
Jenny screamed from behind, pulling at the men's clothes. Her courage was admirable, but it was like an ant trying to shake a tree, and she was pushed away by the men, and her head hit the wall.
Bang! In that instant, Jenny could only feel the headache, the ringing in her ears, and the blurred eyes. Bella's cries faded away as if a long time had passed before she recovered a little and she heard them again, but they were soft and far away. Jenny saw that the pickup truck was far away, and she fought to run in the direction the car was traveling, no matter what, she couldn't let Bella be in danger again.
"Bella!!!" her shout resounded through the alley.
***
Bella tried to turn her head to see how Jenny was doing, but the two men had her pinned down like two mountains, making it impossible for her to move.
"Who the hell are you? Get off me!!! You bastards!!!" She growled.
"Miss, we're friends."
At that moment, the driver in the driver's seat spoke up. His voice sounded familiar, his back looked deja vu, she must have seen him somewhere.
"Who the hell are you? Where are you taking me? What are you going to do to me?!" She didn't have the patience to maneuver around him. She didn't know which road the car was on. The glass of the car was coated with a dark brown opaque coating so that those in the car could not see out of the car, and the car was separated from the driver's seat by an iron fence that was so dense that those in the car needed to look close to see the driver's seat.
"Calm down. Let me answer your questions one by one. First, I'm Garcia Fernando, your old friend. Second, the place I'm taking you to is safe and you won't be harmed; third, I'm going to help you and help you see Edward for who he really is."
"Garcia Fernando?!What the hell?! Are you insane?!"
Bella's protests were no longer answered. Everyone in the car except for her remained silent. Gradually, Bella also stopped resisting. She knew it was useless. She calmed down, her head running fast, thinking of a way out. She already knew who the kidnapper was, but she didn't know what he was up to, and she didn't expect Fernando to tell her; she would have to dig out more information on her own. First, she had to know where she would be taken. Bella judged that the car was driving away from the city as the sound of people outside was becoming less and less. As the vehicle moved forward, the sounds of people outside disappeared.
Bella couldn't help but get nervous. What were they going to do to her?
The two men beside her were staring ahead and not moving, so perhaps, no one was paying attention to her.
Bella tried to take out her cell phone in her jacket pocket to call the police without drawing their attention as much as possible. She moved her hand a little closer to the pocket, and as she put her hand into the pocket, she realized a hard truth: the pocket was empty.
What happened? She tried to remember. Oh no! The phone must have fallen to the ground when she was forced to get into the car. How could she have been so unlucky?
"Ms. Bella," Fernando's voice rang out, pulling Bella out of her thoughts, "we're here. Please be patient and wait in the car, we'll be back soon."
With a "bang" sound, the men in the car got out and heavily closed the door, leaving Bella alone in the car.
