Chapter 24: Chapter 24
Who could he be certainly speaking with because it definitely wasn't Colton and he still thinks she was unconscious. "What if I let her go would it still affect?". Evelyn breath slowly praying that he does, she was missing home but that wasn't going to happen because he needed her. Her body felt warm, they were definitely out of that icy area now and might be heading to the mansion or where already in the mansion and she opened her eyes steadily while wincing. Evelyn attempted to come off his hold but he held her firm which made her scared imagining the unexpected as he could hear her heartbeat fast. "I'm conscious now" she reminded in a faint voice and he drew his face close to her that they exchanged breath. She pushed her head back nervous and he kept her gently on the ground. That was a relief for her and she moved a bit to the where the light switch was just Incase he tries to take advantage of her. The light would serve as her protection against him why couldn't no one look at his face when it appeared at day time wasn't it because he was too handsome to be looked upon? The thought her being in the study room flashed back as she knew he was scared of the lights because of a tragedy that wasn't explained in the scripts. Perhaps he had photophobia because she didn't see anything like curse relating to his fear of lights. According to tales, werewolves switched into their form at night but she doubt if Alex does any of that as he seemed harmless with those eyes of his that he peered at her or was just compelling himself because she speculates he shouldn't be there at that odd hour if he was a werewolf rather, he would be in the woods devouring victims. He noticed she was suddenly staring at him intensively and bending her head as though examining him, her hand mistakenly touched the switch almost putting it on subconsciously but she placed it down. "I'm fine.you.may.leave" she reminded again while stressing her words hoping he leaves because Colton's warning about midnight keeps ringing in her ears. Questions begging for answers began to surface in her head as the most anticipated question was what would happen by midnight? Her eyes did go off him as every step he took was suspicious. He intended to leave but suddenly he began to groan and pace quickly to her that she placed her back on the wall as her breath sank in while he placed his arm across her head trapping Evelyn between himself and the wall. Something was wrong with him and he couldn't hold it in, her stomach twitched as she felt a sharp finger trailing down her throat which seemed like though it was piercing through her neck but stopped when it touched the pendant which laid on her bust. She shoved her face away sweating heavily as she tried to move away from his clutches but couldn't as his hands obstructed her. Her eyes met the moon which was turning red and then at Alex whose blue eyes were drifting away giving way for the mauve. It got her clued to the spot terror-stricken as she blamed herself for ever thinking of his transformation, who was going to save her because this time around, he didn't seem like one who was going to act all dirty towards her, his grip on her began firm as she could hear more howls drawing closer now, her eyes widened when she felt a cut around her left cheek, he was becoming aggressive and when he intended to release his fang on her but she hugged him with tears as the blood while gushed from her cheek rubbed his chest. That was the only idea that came to her head at that point, to give this beast a warm hug neglecting the fact that he might become worst than expected. He struggled to terminate the hug but she held him with tears whispering to him that it wasn't his fault and that it was okay. Alex closed his eyes as he seemed to have return to his senses, his cloth was wet with tears as he felt tender hands wrap around his back. He lowered his gaze at her, she was weeping and telling him it wasn't his fault as he felt calm, she recognized that his heartbeat was slow and not wild. He put an end to the embrace and cupped her cheeks in her hand while observing the injury he had left on it. She had saved him yet again from going against the rules in becoming a mortal even though she doesn't know such. Her body ached because she had to take in all the punch from him as he had tried to refrain from the hug. "You're back" she murmured as she had seen that his eyes had become blue again, in repose, her face looked relaxed but the pain on her cheek compelled an hiss to escape her lips. He made her sit on the bed while gliding the curtains to stare at the moon which was gaining it's colour back too. Soon he returned with a first aid to treat the injury, he was relieved he hadn't dug deep into her skin, she requested for a face towel before he proceeded the treatment. Alex watched as she bite on to this towel as tough it was going to ease her pain. It was best he healed her the easier just like he did in the wood. Evelyn had closed her eyes once again to cry out before she feels his cold glove on her cheek but rather, she felt his soft lips gently parting her and she ogled her eyes as she did her best to halt him from kissing her but it got deeper which made her give in to his ardent demand.
