Chapter 12: Chapter 12

Chapter 11

Vladimir’s POV

I woke up. I saw myself, lying on the ground, dead. After a minute, my eyes opened. It was only when I found myself in our old house that I realized I am dreaming. I am standing inside my dream, or maybe it wasn’t a dream, it was my memories.

From our house, I suddenly went to the streets. I found myself standing on the crossroads going home. I noticed the woman walking behind me. She was wearing an ocean blue dress, the same dress I gave to - she’s Cassy. Cassandra, with brown long hair.

They were walking towards me, no, they couldn’t see me. I am seeing my memories. Am I already dead? I tried to remember what happened. Is this what it looks like to be dead?

Cassy, it’s Cassandra but there was something new about her. She was glowing, the blue light was shining around her. She was wearing a mini glass hour on her neck.

The moment they get past where I stand, the place also changes. We were already outside our house when I stopped, the Vlad in my past. I supposed, it’s me still living in the world of vampires, in the ancient world. Everything is so old and vintage like an old movie film.

I looked at her, “Why are you following me? You’ve been following me since then. I just thought we were on the same road but you still follow me here and you still have plans to enter the gate? ”

Cassy did not speak. She only looked at him for a moment.

"Can you see me?" she asked.

“What, of course? Do I look like blind?”

“No, I mean. You really can?” She cannot believe it. “It can’t be. You weren’t supposed to see me, especially now - “

“I don’t understand you. Will you please stop following me? I can kill you.”

It changed again. The memories change like the old film strip in the cinema.

“Why are you following me again? Do you want to die?" We were standing in a park. People started staring at the old me when I said that.

“Look, you weren’t supposed to see me,” Cassy explained. "They can't see me."

"What?" The old Vlad looked around. "What the hell!"

"Who are you?" he whispered.

Cassy bowed and made a curtsy bow. "I am your guardian angel."

Before I could even think she dropped my real name and it changed again but this time I saw both of them walking side by side instead of just Cassy following me. There was no conversation at all, there were just memories flashing back. Most of the time, it was Cassy watching Vlad wherever he goes.

There were moments of laughter though I don’t know what they are talking about. There were also moments of silence when Vlad was sitting reading a book. Cassy would look at him, smiling and pretending she was reading. Vlad too, will stare at her when she’s not looking. It was all happy moments that my heart started to ache. How could I ever forget about it?

Who made me forget all this? It must be Cassy.

I felt the tears in my face when the memories changed again. We were on a train, traveling to I don’t know where. She was sleeping or more like she had her eyes closed while I was looking at her. When we get off the train, we watch a movie in a cinema, and watch the sun as it sets.

So her bucket list ... It was made to make me remember her. It was all for me.

The scene went to us, sitting in an old attic, staring at the sky. I heard her laugh as she started counting the stars. I heard her sing a song, and even found myself singing it until it changed again. We were standing on the bridge, with me holding a guitar singing the same song she sang until the sun sets.

I cried. I felt tears running down my cheeks. It hurts. I don’t know what hurts, my head or my chest. I just don’t know.

“You can now touch me,” she said, shocked.

They were sitting on a park bench and Vlad was holding her hand.

"I can touch you too."

“No, I mean I can already feel your touch. It shouldn’t be. ” She wagged her head. "It's just no," Cassy stood up.

I can see the old me in pain.

"Wait, where are you going?"

“You weren’t supposed to be able to touch me. I wasn’t supposed to feel your warmth.”

“Why, what is wrong with that? We’d been together like most of the time. You are my guardian angel, right? ”

"No," she shook his head. “Yes, I was your guardian angel when you were still a human. But no, you are now a vampire. You shouldn't have seen me anymore. I wasn’t even supposed to talk to you. Sorry.”

“No, don’t be. It’s okay, right? There is no problem, is there?”

"I shouldn't have given you my blood." Cassy shook her head. “I thought you were a human. Sorry, I want to save you not knowing, not knowing you are really a vampire so my blood runs in your veins ... that’s why you can see me.”

"I never regret that, so please don't say sorry."

“I’m sorry. I should go.”

"No, please." Vlad held him. "I love you," Vlad hugged her from the back. “I remember you saying one, four, three that night, that night when you saved me. It means I love you, right? ”

“No, it’s not. It’s not.” Cassy pulled away from the hug. “It’s not what it means, and please stop. I didn’t mean to. You weren’t allowed, so please forget about it.”

“What? Forget about it? Are you crazy? You are telling me to forget you! Wow! After all these times, after everything, after going into my life- you just want me, you’re kidding me- you just can’t tell someone to learn how to unlove someone!”

I saw the hurt in his eyes, seeing it made me remember the pain. I remember now. I know now.

"It's my fault. I’m sorry I can’t help it.”

Cassy disappeared.

I was clouded with tears.
