Chapter 30: Chapter 30

CHAPTER 30: SHE FAINTED

One month later,

I was about to enter the classroom when I suddenly felt unwell. Maybe because of study stress due to consistently waking up late every night.

It's my turn to defend my project today. Even though I felt dizzy, I forced myself to enter our class. I'm already in the classroom sitting in the assigned chair. But I still feel dizzy, and I still endure it. What is always on my mind is that I need to finish my report today.

"Ms. De Guzman, please come here in front. It's your turn to report." My instructor said.

It's worsened the dizziness I felt. It was as if I could already see fireflies flying in front of me.

'I can do it! It would be best if you did it, Al. It's your biggest chance today.' I cheered myself.

I close my eyes and slowly stood up in my chair. Before I opened my eyes, I first felt myself, and then I slowly opened them again and slowly stepped forward. Suddenly I fainted.

"Wee- oww, wee-oww…!" It's the sound of the ambulance rushing to reach the hospital. It had reached the nearest hospital from the school quickly. The name of the hospital is Gregory Hospital.

They immediately took the woman they rescued from the ambulance and carefully carried her inside the emergency room. The Doctor on duty today responded immediately.

A woman wearing a white long-sleeved shirt with the bottom dyed into a black pencil skirt paired with black high-heeled shoes is anxiously waiting for every person she calls to answer.

Lee's Villa,

Ethan came out of his bathroom while wiping his wet hair with his white towel when suddenly his cellphone rang.

"Ring, ring, ring…!"

Ethan immediately went to his bed to pick up his cellphone, which was lying on it. He looked at the screen of his cellphone to see who had called. Ethan wonders because what is registered was Alyssa's number. He is thinking about what she needs when he knows that it's not her habit to call him.

He thought maybe it was something important, so he no longer hesitated to answer the call.

"Hello,"

"H-Hello, is this the relative of Alyssa De Guzman?" rattled the question of the woman on the other line.

Ethan was suddenly nervous at how the woman on the other line spoke. He answered it immediately. "Y-Yes, it's me" "Who is this? Is there something that happened to her?" he asked the woman.

"I'm her instructor, and I want to inform you that we brought her here to Gregory hospital because she fainted." The woman in the other line explained.

"Okay, I'll be right there immediately. Thank you for informing me, ma'am." Ethan said.

He immediately hung up the phone and hurriedly got dressed. When he got dressed, he immediately left his room and took a big step down the stairs in a hurry until he reached his car.

He immediately got inside his car and fulled the speed of it. He wanted to reach Alyssa right away. He was scared that what if Alyssa's condition was serious? He couldn't stand it if that happened.

At last, he arrived at the hospital mentioned by the woman who called her. He hurriedly walked inside the hospital. As he entered, he immediately approached the nurse station to ask.

"Miss, may I know if where is Alyssa Lee's room?" he asked the Nurse.

"For a while, sir, I'll check the record book." The Nurse said.

The Nurse looked at the record book one by one. She repeatedly checks the record book three times already. Ethan noticed that the Nurse's forehead seemed to frown, so he asked her. "Miss, is there a problem?"

The Nurse looked at him worried and said, "Sir, I'm so sorry to ask this but are you sure that she was been admitted here? There is a name Alyssa here, but Lee is not the last name; it's Dela Cruz." The Nurse explained.

Ethan remembered that Dela Cruz was Alyssa's maiden name. He told the Nurse. "Oh, right, her maiden name is Dela Cruz, sorry Miss I forgot. What's here room number again?" he asked.

"It's room 258, sir," she responded.

"Okay, Miss, thanks."

The Nurse smiled at him and nodded. He continued to walk towards the elevator to go to Alyssa's room.

His heart is rising due to nervousness that he was almost drenched in sweat because of what he felt.

About a few minutes aboard, the elevator finally opened. Ethan hurried out and immediately searched for Alyssa's room number until he found it, but before he knocked on the door to enter, he took a deep breath.

He knocked on it twice and slowly opened it. When he opened the door, he saw Alyssa still asleep.

Next to it was the woman he didn't know. He has this feeling that this is the person who called him earlier.

He approached the woman and asked, "Hi, may I know if you are the one who called me earlier?" he asked her in a calm voice.

The woman stood up from her seat wearing eyeglasses with her hair down and asked, "Are you, Ethan?"

"Yes, I am," he answered.

"Oh, thank goodness that you've come. I'm scared earlier. I even stop my classes today because of what happened. By the way, I'm Mrs. Susan Tero, her instructor." The woman said.

"Oh, thank you so much, ma'am, for not leaving her here." Ethan thanks her.

"Oh, it's no big deal at all. As a teacher, it's my responsibility to look after my student." She said.

"Well, I need to go. I still have class later." She added.

"Okay, ma'am, thanks again," Ethan said.

Then Alyssa's instructor came out from the room. The door closes again. Only Ethan and Alyssa have left in the room.

Ethan slowly approached Alyssa, who was sound asleep as the I.V. cannula injected into her tiny hand. It connected to the dextrose that hung on a metal pole.

He sat in the vacant chair next to Alyssa's bed. As he sat down, he slowly brought his hand to Alyssa's head and touched it. He couldn't help but feel sorry for her.

As he turned to stare at Alyssa, he noticed the strands of her hair scattered. He arranged it and tucked it in her earlobe when she suddenly woke up.
