Chloe Montclair

"Baby?."

"You're my baby and you can't deny that." He winked at me and left my room. I couldn't stop grinning and I'm sure, my cheeks are burning red right now since I'm the fair type.

We were both sitting in my living with Ken who just finished preparing my meal. He prepared me a porridge potato and the aroma filled in my nose.

"Hmmm, this looks sweet." I commented, surprised. The fact that he can make meals despite his status still surprises me.

"Wait until you taste it first." He said proudly.

I scoop my spoon in and dig in the food, I couldn't control the excitement. It tastes nice. "Now I believe, you can prepare any food. You're full of surprises, Ken."

"A lot more to know about me. Wait until we get married." He said and I choke on my food before he hurriedly offered me a glass of water and pat my back.

"Are you crazy? Do you want me dead?!" I rolled my eyes at him. I don't know what has gotten into him. He's saying strange things for the past two days now. He just confessed to me that he likes me and now... Marriage?

"What? Are you scared of hearing the word marriage from me?." He teased.

"Ken! That's not funny!" I hissed as I lightly hit his chest and he chuckled.

"Come on, hurry and finish your food or, do you want me to feed you?." He offered as he tried to move the plate closer to him whilst I smack his hand.

"I can feed myself without your help." I hissed again and he burst out laughing.

Right in time, mom and Stanley walked in. I heard, they both went to the grocery store to get a few things. Mom has been helping a lot in the house recently, we tried to stop her from working but she refused.

"Hey, you two." She smiled at us.

"Good morning, mom."

"Good morning, Aunt." Ken and I both said at the same time.

"I will be in my room, enjoy your food." She said and left while Stanley greeted us before sauntering to the kitchen. I almost finish my food when my phone beeped, indicating that I have a message. I checked and I was down all of a sudden.

We need to talk ASAP! 2 pm today at my house~ the message says. It's from Ken's mom.

"Hey! Is everything okay?" Ken concerned voice brought me out of my thought.

"Of course, everything is fine. Just some normal messages." I lied.

"Good! After this, make sure you do nothing but rest, okay?"

"Okay boss"

I sat on one of the couches in their living room patiently waiting for Ken's mom to show up. My sweaty palm placed on my lap and my heart wouldn't stop beating weirdly. I have no idea why she invited me but one thing I'm sure of, she will ask me to break up with her son.

Are we even dating?

Definitely, yes! He didn't ask me to be his girlfriend but stated it already.

Restlessly waiting for her to show up since it has been 15 minutes since I arrived, I jumped up as I saw her walk in with her husband with Ken's Aunt trailing behind them.

"Good afternoon, sir/ma" I greeted them whilst I bowed. Ken's mom didn't acknowledge my presence, Janet's mom pass me a small smile and Mr. Domanco, I had no idea of what is running through his mind at the moment... He looks calm and even caress my upper right-hand shoulder when I greeted him.

They all took their seat before I did. "Chloe, I'm sure, you know the reason why we have summoned you here today?" Her husband asked me.

Hearing him call my real name made me feel somewhat of a deceiver. I lied to them that I am Vivian but now, they know my real identity.

"Of course, she knows. And, that's for you to break up with my son" Mrs. Domanco said.

"Sister please, can you not be hard on her? The poor girl looks down already." Janet's mom said.

"Are you supporting her now? She tricked us all! She lied to us but, you're still having this kind of thought towards her?"

"But we know of the truth already. Brother made his findings which shows that she was framed by her sister and fiance. All that happened was never her fault"

"I don't care. All that I want from her is to be far away from my son. She's only after him because of his money"

"No! No, you're wrong mom. I mean, ma. I was never after Ken's money. Indeed, our meeting was never the best but, getting to know him and the few months I've spent with him was the best and happiest moment of my life"

"Lies and lies," she said rolling her eyes.

"Alice, can you at least allow me to talk?" Her husband asked before he then faced me. "Chloe, do you love my son?"

"Domanco!!" His wife yelled out his name.

"Do you love my son, Chloe?." He asked again.

"Yes. I truly love him. I know I was wrong for lying to y'all but believe me, I never wanted any of that. When he told me about Irfan and your brother, and also told me to fake being his girlfriend... I refused at first. I had no idea why he chooses me of all girls in the whole world but then, he told me about my sister and my fiance. I've always loved and cherished them. All I've been after was their happiness but, they betrayed me. I couldn't hold it in and accept his offer. I had no idea, I will fall in love with your son someday. At first, before getting to know him, I only see a spoilt brat who lacks manner-"

"You-" Ken's mom hissed at me but her husband stopped her and I continue.

"I wanted nothing to do with him but, he later became so compassionate towards me. He has always treated me like a sister rather than a fake girlfriend. All needs, even though, I hate to take things from him but he made sure he provide for all of my needs even without asking him. Then, I started to have feelings for him. I tried so hard, I tried to take it off my mind and remind myself to know my place but, it's not working. I can swear to you that, what I have for Ken is genuine love. He's now my life and I can't do without him. Please, believe me. I'm not here to hurt him but to heal his old wound and make him happy too." I finished saying.

"No matter what you say, I'm never going to allow you to be with my son. You don't worth and deserve him and that's final!" She hissed and then, someone barged in. We all turn our heads and saw Ken panting so hard as he stared at all of us.

He sauntered closer to me and drag me up. "What are you doing, Kenneth?." His mom questioned him.

"The question is, what are y'all doing? You invited her behind me to do what exactly? Ask her to break up with me. Threatened her or, offer her a sum of money so she could leave me... Which of the two?"

"Ken! Mind the way you talk to us, we're still your parent."

"I'm not disputing that mom but, can y'all stop this already? Chloe is a nice girl if you get to know her. I'm sure, y'all know exactly what I'm talking about, she's not a bad person and you know that, mom"

"That was because I had no idea then that she's Chloe and not Vivian"

"Mom!"

"What?! Why are you calling my name? Look Ken, no matter what you say or do... I will never accept her as your girl"

"Then, it's pointless having this conversation then" He tried to walk away with my hand held tightly in his hand but his Dad's voice stopped him.

"What do you think you're doing, young man?"

"Isn't it obvious, Dad? Y'all do not like her and it's pointless having this conversation. She's the woman I planned to spend the rest of my life with, if you want to give in your support, then it's fine and if you don't want to, it's also fine. All I know is, no one can stop me from being with her. No one!" He threatened them.

"What have you done to my son, you snitch! My son has never raised his voice at me but because of you, he did and even threatened me. Not only did you bewitch him but also his sister too... What have you done to my children?"

"Mom, stop this! STOP THIS NONSENSE!! She hasn't done anything to me. All she has shown me was nothing but care. Just stop it! You're so annoying right now and it's fucking making me go crazy. You have no right, I repeat... You have no right to tell me who to be with and who not to be with. Have you forgotten? You were a nobody when Dad met you and-" I slapped him so hard across his face before he could finish his statement. His father and mom who looked sad and disappointed a while ago now looked stunned and his Aunt also held a shocked look on her face.

"Ch... Chloe" He stuttered as he called out my name. By now, I'm already whelmed in tears.

"Please Ken, do not say any more words again. Don't make this too hard for me. She's your mom for goodness sake, how can you let out such horrible words at her? No matter what, she's still your mother and you have to respect her. You do not have to disrespect her because of me. I'm a nobody, they're your family and they deserve lots of respect from you" I faced him as I say that before turning back to face his parents.

"I'm sorry Mr. and Mrs. Domanco, I know, I've caused a lot of trouble for your family with my presence but please, believe me, I do not intend to do anything as such. I might be crazy for saying this but, I can't leave Ken. Like I've said earlier, he's my life, and now that I've realized that... I can't let him go. I can tolerate your hatred for me, I can endure your punishment and would wait till the very day you're going to accept me back but please, do not push me away. I... I missed you. I missed the woman who love me heatedly despite meeting me for the first time and treated me like a daughter. I missed you mom." I finished saying and ran out of the house whilst I hear Ken calling after me but I turned into a deaf ear.

It might be too soon but, I'm attached to every one of them. I know I'm crazy but I love them already and considered them my family I can't bear to lose him again. I love him, I love him and this time around, I'm not ready to let go of him no matter what.

I stumble into my house looking weary. I believe, everyone knows about what I'm going through right now and decided to give me some space to think.

Both my friends tried to talk to me but I saw mom stop them. I also heard her telling them. "Girls, not now. Give her some time."

Without bothering to say a word to them, I amble to my room and slump on my bed. Then, I heard my door open. "I do not wish to talk right now so please, just let me be." I said, but the person didn't say a word and walk closer.

"I said, I don't want to be disturbed, don't you get it?!" I burst and got up only to see Ken looking at me with a sad look on his face. Without saying a word to me, he sit and engulf me in a tight hug whilst I cried my heart out.

This, shouldn't have been happening to me. I don't deserve this. I should be happy and, not getting separated from the man I love when I haven't even started anything with him yet.
