Chapter 31: Chapter 31
Chloe Montclair
"Enough! That's enough!" Ken burst out angrily as he hit the table with full force. "That's enough!"
"How can you calmly sit there and allow this bitch to lie against my wife?! And you expect me to be calm about it?."
"Firstly, don't you dare call her a bitch again. And secondly, she never lied. You should ask yourself why in the world, has she always been after me ever since the day you got married to her."
"What nonsense are you talking about?."
"I have nothing to say to you. Go ask your wife." Ken said to him, in anger and out of nowhere... Joshua hijacked his cloth, pressuring his neck with his assault.
"Joshua, what are you doing? Please stop this madness." Ken's mom said to him but he turned into a deaf ear. Ken only chuckled a little bit before punching the idiot's face and he slumped on the floor.
Everyone widened their eyes in shock except Ken's Dad and his junior brother who looks calm as if, nothing has happened. I take a look at the witch who caused all of these. She was still there shedding her crocodile tears while these two men were fighting each other.
"That's for hijacking me next time, do not try such nonsense with me." Ken said in a scary tone. "I'm sure, you know exactly who you're dealing with and what, I'm capable of doing?." He added.
"Do I look like I care?." Joshua jumped up again and face him. "You sat there while the woman you brought home lied against my wife and yet, you're still backing her up. Are you crazy?!"
"You're crazy for getting married to a woman who doesn't love you. Besides, I have no reason to lie to you... What will I gain if I disrupt your relationship with her? Nothing! The two of you have nothing to offer me considering what I've achieved so far. Now, get out of my sight before I do something I might later regret." He threatened him on the last part.
"Dad!!!" Joshua whined like a little boy but his Dad only nod his head at him. He did as he was told and walked out of the house while his crazy wife follows suit.
Ken rub his face angrily and walked out too. Forgotten to pick up my purse, I ran after him too. He was outside the house and now in the compound but I'm glad, I was still able to catch up with him. He was taking long strides and it was hard catching up with him. It was just like, he took three steps at once and that three-step is equivalent to one step of mine.
"Ken wait, where are you going to?." I was able to stop him as I held his arm and luckily I was able to turn him around to face me.
"What was that stunt you pull in there?."
"What stunt are you talking about?."
"Stop acting like you have no idea of what I'm saying. You shouldn't have done what you did!" He burst angrily at me.
"What?! But, I've done nothing wrong. In fact, you should be thanking me because I made her intentions known to everyone. You were so union-"
"I never asked you for help. I can take of it myself. I've been taking care of that shit since three years back and you think, I can't still do that now?."
"Why are you blaming me, Ken? I've done nothing wrong. You were so uncomfortable in there just a while ago... I just felt to make everyone sees the real her so, what's wrong with what I did?." I asked him in a soft and disappointed tone. He should be happy I did something for him, I got his back and now, he's blaming me?
This man is so unbelievable.
"Still, you shou-" he was cut off by his words when a voice said behind us.
"Hey! That's enough you two. This is not the right time to fight each other." We both turned out heads and it was Ken's Aunt.
"Aunt..." He trailed off in a soft tone. I noticed that he loves his Aunt and her daughter so much just in the same way he does for his mom.
"Hey, it's fine. You don't have to say anything. I believe you and your girl. Besides, you know I never liked that girl anyway for my son. It was his and his father's idea to marry her. None of us including your mom believed she was the right one for him. Plus, I've caught her twice making advances towards you but yet, you turned her down... I watched it happen with my eyes so, there's nothing to be sorry about."
"Instead, you should apologize to your woman. Don't you know, when a woman is in love with you, it will be hard to control herself when another woman is trying to throw themselves at her man. She will get furious and capable of doing anything to that person at that moment." She said, calmly before caressing his arm to calm him down.
But, I'm not in love with him. I only did that because it was so irritating and annoying to watch- I wanted to say that to her but decided to keep my mouth shut.
"Come on, go in there now and apologize to your parents... Especially your father, he looks disappointed at what just happened. Just calm him down... You know how he can be sometimes." She advised him and he listened to her with a slight nod before walking back into the house.
He didn't even bother to say a word to me or apologize. Jerk!!!
"Don't worry, he will come back to himself. He was only upset at the moment..."
"Are you sure? I think he won't talk to me for weeks with the look on his face."
"Now, you're being crazy." She joked and laugh. "I'm sorry for what my son and his wife said to you earlier, on behalf of them... I'm apologizing to you."
"No, it's fine ma."
"Call me Aunt too, Vivian. You're a sweet, calm girl and, I like you so... You can call me your Aunt too."
"You think, I have the right to do that?."
"Why don't you? You're getting married to Ken soon so, why not?."
"Married?."
"Yes, of course. Do you think, now that he has decided to show you to his parents they're going to allow you two to be? Not until you two get married, they won't stop tormenting him... come on, we still have a lot of things to talk about, let's go inside. I'm sure, sister just has been waiting for us."
I smiled and nod my head lightly at her before going inside the house together. I feel happy and sad at the same time. I'm glad, I have people who genuinely love me but at the same time, that's because they do not know how I'm. Maybe, if they do, they're going to hate me for the rest of my life. I'm not happy deceiving them like this. I'm sure, any day they come to find out about the real me, they won't think twice before throwing me out of this house and their son's life completely.
We got in, Ken's mom and Janet were sitting in the living room close to their kitchen, I think. I ponder how many living rooms they have in this house. Just here alone, I'm seeing up to six and I'm sure, up there, there will be more.
I moved closer to the men having a serious discussion, pick up my purse gently and hope non of the three men will notice me but, a voice stopped me as he called my name.
"Vivian." Ken's Dad called.
"Y...ye... Yes, your excellency." I answered through stuttering. My head bowed down a little. I swear I'm still scared of this man. Maybe it's because of his aura.
"Can you take a sit with us? I would like to ask you a few questions and also talk to you if it's possible." He said and my heart beeped all of a sudden. Not only did it beeped but also start beating too fast.
I look up slowly and saw six Pierce eyes looking at me. Ken, his Dad, and his uncle.
Slowly, I took a sit beside Ken and opposite his uncle.
"You're Vivian Samuel, right?." He started.
"Ye.. yes, your excellency."
"Did you really see her making advances at my son?." He asked me again.
"Brother!!" Joshua's father exclaimed angrily. I guess he's not okay with the fact that he's asking me such a question.
"I... I saw it." I answered.
"Good. Now Lucas, did you hear that? I see no reason why she would lie against your daughter-in-law. Besides, you and I both know the kind of a daughter-in-law you have." He said to him. And I sat there calmly not knowing what to say.
"Vivian... For how long have you known my son?." He asked.
Huh? For how long? Ken never told me anything about this. Now, how do I answer his question? Should I just be truthful to him and tell him I've known him for over 5 months now?
"5-"
"2-" we both say at the same time. The latter was Ken. I widened my eyes in shock.
What is he doing?
While his father and his brother were both looking at us with a suspicious look, he answered again. "2 years now, father." He answered.
"I wasn't asking you, Ken. I'm talking to her." He pointed at me.
"Erm... We've known each other for 2 years and 5 months now." I said. Yes, this makes sense now.
"Hmmm." He hummed as he nod his head.
"Does that mean, you two have been dating for the past two years now?." He questioned again.
What's with him and this question?
"No."
"No sir." Again, we both said in unison.
"We started dating months back. 7 months, it's been 7 months now." I answered.
"Why did you say yes to him? If I could recall, he doesn't have a good reputation when it comes to ladies so, how come he ended up with someone like you?."
"Dad!!!" Ken protests and I slightly chuckle. This man may look strict but his voice and words are somehow funny sometimes.
"Are you saying that Vivian is way better than my son, brother?." We heard Ken's Aunt say and as I turned my head to look at her, I saw the three of them standing right behind us. His Aunt, mom, and his sister too.
"Kara, that's enough." Mrs. Domanco whispered to her ear but enough for me to hear.
"Hey! Stop looking at me with those eyes. I was only joking." She pouts as she pointed her index finger at me and I can't help but smile.
I swear, this woman is too funny. Now I see why Ken liked her.
"Loving someone means, accepting their flaws." I started as I face his Dad. "I love him for who he's and not because he has lots of faults. We all have our flaws because none of us is perfect. Besides, Ken is someone who saved my life and for that, I will always be grateful to him. He has always been there for me like an elder brother and I respect him for that. If tomorrow, I was asked to choose the man I was going to spend the rest of my life with again for the second time, I won't hesitate before choosing Ken because, he's a great soul. I have no reason to love him, I love your son and that's never going to change no matter what anyone says." I finished saying but all through while I was talking, my eyes were fixed on him and, he wouldn't also take his eyes off me.
"Even if I object to your relationship?." He asked.
"Father!!" Ken exclaimed.
"Answer me, Vivian. Even if I object to your relationship... Will you still stand by him?."
I sighed. "Despite knowing it's hard to convince our parents when it comes to things like this... Not every person we bring home to our parents get to be accepted by them but, I'm sorry to say this... I can't leave Ken. He's the man, I want to spend the rest of my life with."
"Even if I take every single that he owned away from him?."
"Huh?."
"Yes, I planned on taking everything away from him. He's going to start from scratch so.., do you still want to be with him despite all that?."
Huh?!!
