Chapter 50: Chapter 50

"Fillo, do you want to accompany me shopping?"

Fillo looked up, saw his mother holding him and taking him to the bus stop waiting for someone.

"Will Daddy come along?"

Alexa smiled wryly. "No him today. Just us and Jane."

Fillo's head nodded, uncertain whether he agreed because he couldn't do anything about it, or was hiding his disappointment.

A Buggati Divo cruised at moderate speed down the road, stopping right in front of them. The car window was down and open. "Am I late?"

"No, you're just in time."

Alexa got into Jane's car in the back seat. An expensive car has a must and soothing fragrance. Even though it wasn't her first time riding, she was still not used to it.

Abby, Jane's widowed assistant, was currently at the helm. "Where are we going, Miss?"

"Uhm, eat?" Jane asked doubtfully, looking at Alexa.

"That's good too." Alexa's eyes couldn't leave the steering wheel, then nudged Jane. "She can drive?"

Jane laughed. "Yeah, she's my driver now. Kenric feels more comfortable if I'm with her."

"What does that mean? Can she defend herself?"

"It's not like that. Kenric must have been jealous of the previous driver and replaced him with Abby without telling me." Jane remembered that and laughed. "That's the way to be sweet."

"You said he was indifferent."

"Come on, Lexa. No matter how indifferent a man is, he can be jealous too, but he won't admit it until he dies."

"Even Kenric?"

"Especially him!" Jane took some candies and chocolates in the car's pocket before continuing, "Somehow he finally saw Abby's extraordinary talent and trusted me to leave with her."

Alexa accepted the chocolate and candy in her hands and only gave Fillo the low sugar one.

"Abby isn't anti-guy anymore?"

"Of course she still does, but she can tolerate Kenric. Isn't that right, Abby?"

The woman who was the topic of their conversation didn't answer, only her eyes appeared on the steering wheel. Didn't know if she was offended or not. She was unpredictable.

"Why are we discussing Abby and Kenric?" Jane grumbled, chewed a piece of candy, then put the rest in her front pocket for Abby. "What about you? You have something to explain here!"

"That's what we met for," Alexa said.

"If I didn't force you, you definitely wouldn't have met me, Lexa!"

"I'm sorry, but I just don't want to bother you."

Jane wrinkled her nose. "Bother me, my ass!"

"Okay, okay. Why don't we wait when we get to the restaurant."

"I want to hear it now," Jane insisted. "You're really dating—"

"Hulk," Alexa interrupted quickly. "Yeah, I have a little connection with this Hulk."

Jane couldn't blink.

Alexa's eyes hinted at many things to reassure Jane. For a moment she finally understood when, her friend's eyes pointed at Fillo who was busy looking straight ahead.

'Okay, besides, Ray really fits the term hulk by the way.'

"Whatever," Jane rolled her eyes. "You confessed to him?"

"Of course not! He did."

Jane's mind had imagined many things. "Ow, is that romantic? Candy light dinner on a mountain top, a bed sprinkled with roses or something? Say it, Lexa!"

Alexa didn't think that Jane could think of all that.

"No. Only when I tripped over a tree branch."

"Ew."

For safety reasons, Alexa really had to use riddles so that Fillo couldn't guess easily. This was just her fear, but it seemed like her son was working to help Ray get closer to her.

Hopefully this is just a feeling.

"This shameless Hulk! Does he deserve to be called huge dick?"

"What?" Alexa blinked in confusion.

"Forget it!" Jane sneered. "Then what? Do you accept him?"

"Not yet."

"Why? This is perfect, Lexa. Just according to your plan, right?"

Alexa sighed. "Yeah, you're right. But you know I'm reluctant."

"Enough! If you want to waste time, feel free to drag it out as much as you like."

Actually, Alexa also wanted to take revenge as soon as possible, so that she wouldn't be affected by Ray's existence for too long and lose her mind. Before she received more of his kindness, she couldn't waver.

Moreover, she couldn't make Fillo too clingy to him.

"After all, you recklessly carried out all your plans alone. Why not ask for my help?"

"I—"

"Bryan threatened you, didn't he?" Jane interrupted. "Is that why you live with Ray?"

"That's part of my plan."

Jane was stunned, speechless.

After a while, she laughed reproachfully. "So what happened on the cruise ship was also your plan?"

Alexa didn't need to ask how Jane knew, the news of Ray and Hailey's breakup had actually been published on social media. Many regret that their model broke up with a rich businessman. The reason was said to be because of the issue of cheating on Ray's part. The news attracted quite a lot of attention after they broke up, but within three days the news had disappeared.

It must have been Ray who did it.

Rich people can of course control the news too, right?

Alexa answered honestly, "Well, that's my doings too."

"Oh, shit! You should ask me for help with that one!"

"I can handle it myself."

"That's not what I meant, Lexa. It's not just anyone you're dealing with. You don't know what Ray or his girlfriend are like. You could get into trouble!"

"Hulk," Alexa corrected, "and Catwoman."

Jane's forehead furrowed painfully. What's with this Hulk and Catwoman? Aren't these two from different agencies, why not Batman instead of Hulk? Jane never understood her friend's brain circuitry.

"Okay, okay. Now tell me the whole story! Everything with nothing to hide!" Jane didn't care and raised her voice. "Abby, hurry to the nearest restaurant from here."

Abby, "Within twenty meters there is a Chinese Restaurant."

"We're going there."

Alexa said nothing, following wherever she was led. After arriving at the restaurant courtyard with a strong Chinese style, her hand was immediately pulled towards a spot outside. The cool air made her feel a little relieved. The Chinese style restaurant didn't seem like a lower or middle caste restaurant, the building was so fantastic.

"Why don't you let me choose the restaurant? I promise I'll treat you. This place doesn't suit my wallet," she said right after they sat down.

Jane looked at her irritably. "Do I care whether you treat me or not?"

The waiter who saw them automatically gave the kids chair to Fillo.

Alexa sighed. "Jane, I don't understand why you're angry."

"Two low-sugar coffees. I'll call you when I order food," Jane said to the waiter.

"And soy milk."

"One soy milk."

The waiter said goodbye without taking the menu and disappeared at the kitchen counter. At that time, Jane's attention was completely on her friend. "Tell me everything now. Don't beat around the bush. And I'm not angry with you, I'm worried!"

"Will there be any problems if I offend them?"

"Of course."

Alexa sighed again. "But I was ready for all the risks, that's why I didn't involve you."

"Alexa ..." Jane sighed sadly. "I know you don't want to involve me, but in the first place something like this happened because I took you to Veloture five years ago."

Even though it had been five years, Alexa knew that Jane still carried the weight of this guilt on her shoulders. Jane was involved in all the problems that happened, but it wasn't entirely her fault. Alexa never blamed her one hundred percent.

To distract Fillo, Alexa took a picture book for him, before replying, "I will answer everything you want to know."
