Chapter 21: Chapter 21

Three adults sat in the living room in a bad situation, there was another little boy sitting in a special chair while drawing. This little boy didn't care about anything; focused on his activities and didn't seem to pay attention even if a commotion was about to break out. No one spoke between them, let alone straightened out the commotion that occurred a few moments ago.

Alexa was still holding the foaming spatula, then remembered that she still had to wash the dishes and was about to get up, before someone said,

"I'll replace the flower pot. Name a price."

She took a moment to digest those words, before finally feeling angry. "It's just a worthless little flower pot, no need to waste your money."

Samuel's face showed no friendship. "I just don't want to owe you anything, okay?"

Before she answered, Ray interrupted, "Sam, is it appropriate for you to say that? She helped me this morning when I felt sick, you can't say harsh things to her."

"You have to know what your own condition is, then I won't interfere." Samuel answered irritably.

Ray, "We will go now."

Samuel, "Why are you in a hurry? When you break someone else's item, you have to compensate it even if it's not worth a lot of money. Moreover, it's just a flower pot. Are you shameless or what?"

In this world, no one dared to be this impudent towards Ray, but Samuel was an exception. Samuel was Ray's closest friend and they have known each other for a long time. Even though Ray grew up in an elite family, which is one of the big name families in the city, or even being his boss right now, doesn't necessarily make Samuel obey him.

Because he was very close to Ray, he was even willing to become Ray's personal secretary and help him build this business together.

So basically, Ray also didn't mind that Samuel was acting like this towards him. It was only when he showed the same attitude to Alexa that Ray couldn't keep quiet.

Ray finally pulled Samuel away and glanced at Alexa. "I'll go for now, let me compensate the flower pot with a new one."

"Didn't I say it was just a cheap little flower pot?"

Her tone wasn't harsh or angry, but it was obvious that her face showed displeasure.

"Don't I need to compensate it?" Ray asked to confirm.

"No need."

She hurried away after saying that, which made Ray sigh in understanding. He heard she ask little Fillo to lead him to the front and disappeared into the kitchen. Fillo, who initially didn't have a care in the world, immediately obeyed and grabbed Ray's pants.

"Daddy, I'll see you off," he said in an innocent tone.

Samuel was very surprised. "Daddy?"

Ray glared at him with an eye signal to tell him to shut up. They arrived in front of the house with Ray holding Fillo's tiny hand. Samuel immediately rushed to the car.

"Why are your hands so cold?" Fillo squeezed Ray's large hand in his tiny fingers. "Does Daddy still feel sick?"

Hearing that, Ray crouched in front of him. "What if yes?"

Small children are usually very innocent and honest. Knowing the adult in front of him was uncomfortable, he held the two big hands and rubbed them. "Mom said, when you're sick you have to go to the hospital and get an injection."

After saying that, Fillo's eyes turned red, followed by his cheeks and skin. Looked like he was about to cry.

"Why are you crying?" Ray wiped the tears that fell down his soft cheeks. "Did you know that if you cry often, you will be easily underestimated by other people?"

Fillo's small hands hurriedly rubbed the corners of his eyes. "I'm not crying."

Ray pinched his cheek.

But Fillo's face remained gloomy and he said weakly, "Every time Mom is in pain, she will cry alone quietly in the room. I don't want Daddy to experience that too. So, Daddy, don't be in pain too, okay?"

As far as Ray knew, Fillo was a little boy who didn't talk much and was stiff, so he didn't expect that the boy would be this chatty when he talked to other people. With this, he guessed that maybe he was someone Fillo trusted.

"Does Mom often cry?" He asked.

Fillo looked back as if to make sure no one was looking, then nodded. Dissatisfied, he brought his mouth closer to Ray's ear while whispering. His words stunned Ray.

He couldn't say anything other than gently rubbing the top of Fillo's head.

At that time, Samuel had started the car and was waiting on the side of the road. Ray looked at his car and thought leaving it here would make it easier for him to find an excuse to come back to this house.

The truth was that he didn't understand why he had this thought; whether he wanted to come back just to see Fillo or for Alexa.

The sound of a car horn suddenly startled him.

He immediately got into the car after waving at Fillo and saying a few words. In the car, Samuel immediately gave him a suspicious look, making Ray immediately pretend to be blind.

"Is there anything you need to explain here?" Samuel asked impatiently. The car was traveling at a slow speed. As if to give them time to discuss things.

Ray closed his eyes for a moment, his face was still looked tired.

On the other hand, Fillo's words kept ringing in his head looking for answers to straighten out several things. At first, he thought that this type of mother-son parenting was wrong, but it turned out to be more wrong than he thought. It seemed like the two of them had a big story hidden in that small house.

'Mom hurt her own hand and was crying because of the pain.'

Those were the words Fillo whispered to him and he felt like something wasn't right.

Suddenly he opened his eyes, "What do you think of Fillo?"

Samuel was confused about the name Fillo that Ray was referring to, but then he remembered that the woman in the house had called the little boy by this name. "Isn't that what you should explain to me?"

Ray, "..."

Samuel, " Ray, come on. Whose child is that? He looks so much like you! He's like the other half of you! Seeing his photo yesterday, I thought it was just a coincidence, once I saw it myself, I started to feel this is strange. So, you really are having an affair behind Hailey's back, and having a child with that fierce and sensitive woman? Wait a minute, you're right to call her fierce and sensitive, she's like that!"

Ray was dizzy from hearing all of Samuel's ramblings, and was interested in one sentence. "When did I say that she was fierce and sensitive? Ah, no, that's not it ... you mean does Fillo really look like me?"

"90 percent!" Samuel answered bluntly. "Strangers will believe that you are father and son."

Ray didn't say anything, he'd had the same thought before. The similarity of other people who are not related by blood is not surprising in this world. But is it really a coincidence that they were brought together like this, really possible? In other words, fate might have arranged all this and had a reason behind it.

Thinking about all this only made his head hurt more.

"Sam, please tell Adam to look for complete information about Alexa Greisy," he said while massaging his temples.

Adam is his informant and personal driver, who is away on holiday.

Samuel snorted without answering.

Ray continued, "I want all complete data about her past too."
