Chapter 51: Chapter 51
Stefan had it in mind to handle the matter when he gets back from Vancouver but he couldn't wait. He knew Lucille was manipulative and vindictive but this was too far off her antics nobody threatens his wife's peace of mind and gets away with it.
"Stefan!" Lucille's voice raised an octave in surprise but she tried to mask it by being sweet. " To what do I owe such a pleasant visit from someone as regal as yourself?"
Stefan cut her a look that made her visbly flinch. "I did not come here to chit chat or exchange pleasantries with you Lucille." Stefan bit out icily.
"That's such a shame."
"Your ruse is over and I want you to give up whatever it is you're hoping to achieve with my wife."
"I do not know what you mean Stefan."
"Do not act smart with me Lucille when you're not. Why are you even doing this in the first place, what do you hope to gain from it?"
"Jen forgives but I don't."
His eyes narrowed into slits. " What do I have to do with Jenny we've been over a long time ago."
"yeah, because you took the easy way out and tossed her out to the dogs."
"what do you mean?"
She laughed bitterly and there was such fire in her eyes Stefan had never seen before. Lucille was the kind of woman who always gets what she wants but Stefan was in the right mind to not it happen. She was a beautiful woman, sophisticated and hard on the edges miles different from Jenny whose soft nature was what drew him to her in the first place and things went south after he found out about her betrayal.
"Please do not take me for a fool Stefan I want you to take responsibility for what you've done and I'm willing to do anything to make you."
"I have done what I think is right for Jenny even after what she did, I made sure she was comfortable what else do you want?" He spread out his arms.
"It's not enough and you know it!"
"Did Jenny put you up to this? Where is she I want to talk to her?"
"Jen is too soft, too forgiving but I cannot let her suffer this alone while you're happily married and riding off into the sunset with that party animal wife of yours."
Stefan balled his fists. "Watch how you speak about my wife." He gritted.
"You could've done better." She said shaking her head distastefully. "I mean going from Jen to… that?"
Stefan got in her face and she recoiled. Sure Cindy had been frivolous just like he was he wouldn't hold that against her but she's not that person anymore, she doesn't even mingle with those women anymore it was like she was a different person altogether ever since their wedding.
"Listen, your silly little game is over as of this moment."
"And if it's not?" She bit back defiantly.
Her show of bravado was distasteful and it was about time Stefan put a halt to it.
"Stay away from me and my wife or I'll be forced to haul your ass in jail. Don't test me Lucille you won't like the out come." He threatened.
She stood mutely even after he was gone, her arms fisted beside her, her jaws clenched.
Lucille was fuming.
She would get back at Cindy Cortes and Stefan Diamond one way or another if it's the last thing she does. There's no way they get to live their lives happily while her sister remains miserable.
"Do we have visitors?"
Lucille quickly schooled her features to relax before she turned to face her cousin who just got to the bottom of the stairs carrying a bundle on her shoulder.
"No."
"But I heard voices."
"I told you there was no one Jen." She said impatiently.
"Fine, you don't need to yell."
Lucille sighed. "I'm sorry, I've just been stressed lately."
"Cut yourself some slack will you? You're human after all."
"How's my favourite nephew?" She grinned affectionately as she went to take the bundle from Jenny.
