Chapter 9: Chapter 9

We rushed her to the hospital and not once did Tori stop blaming me for the predicament of her mother.

I watched as they rushed my aunt to the emergency room, deeply I prayed to God that nothing happens to her, she's the only relative I have, ever since I lost my parents.

It's been an hour and the doctor was yet to come out from the emergency room. Luckily the doors to the emergency room opened and the doctor walks up to us weaving out a piece of good news, he says, "there's no need to worry she's fine but don't  keep her under stress, it seems she's in a lot of pressure!".

Tori shoots a, your so responsible for this" before recouping her eye back to the doctor, "thank you so much, doctor! She wears a weak smile on.

I veered to see an aunt in her ward, but before I could get closer, Tori dragged me back in a pissed manner. "Stay away from my mom!" She warned fixing her gaze on me.

I ran my eyes through the glass window, and saw aunt laying down with an oxygen mask covering her nose.

Tori walks in and shuts the door to my face, as well as blocking any medium for seeing aunt.

I walked out of the hospital wearing a frown, deep down I hoped aunt gets better, even though I won't be next to her.

I walked through the streets with lots of thought, the fear of losing my aunt banked many memories to me, what would I do if I lost my aunt today? Shuddering breathing.

(12:00pm)

I returned home gloomy, veered in to see Darren seated in the living room, he wears a smile seeing me amble in, "good evening Karol!", Daren says ambling close to me.

We filled up the distance between us and I asked a question, "Daren! Why are you here?".

Seeing Daren here will be like sending me to my early grave and if aunt's or Tori veers In to see him here, I'll be in deep trouble.

"I came to invite you to a party, at my house tomorrow night!". He concedes anticipating to see my reaction.

Before I could say a word, I thought it wise that it wouldn't be a bad idea, seeing how much Daren had trusted me in this couple of months.

"Yes! Why not!" I simmered retorting back to him.

It's as if the dust hurled in Tori, the second I accepted Darren's invitation.

She veered In and suspiciously walked closer to us, her eyes fell on Daren, who smiled warmly to her, "Hello dear!" He says as she responds with a question, "who are you?".

Tori has always been a question monger, her mouth will yap until she's got the answer to her question.

"He's my boss!" I answered before Daren could, fixing her eyes on me.  "Oh, so you have a boss?".. she smiles devilishly at me. "Yes I do, so?" I asked rolling my eyes at her.

"Nothing".  She answered back and cutely gazed at Daren, before going back to her room.

Daren shoots me a weird smile and I knew what he was thinking, "she's my sister!" I asserted before he could even get the chance to ask me.

He smiles lovingly and walked away after giving me the invitation to his family's dinner party.

I watched him get into his car and drove away, when I veered to leave, I took notice of Tori standing behind with her hands folded up.

"What?" I saw the look on her face.
