Chapter 28: Chapter 28
Liam stared after Zahir, who walked out in search of Izzy and sighed in confusion.
Something is nagging in his mind.
He is missing something, he is sure of that.
But what?? He couldn’t figure out what!
Why had Zahir gone all berserk while talking about Mirrie. He looked so damn possessive and concerned when he fought with me over her.
If Emma introduced them, why didn't Mirrie tell him about it when he mentioned introducing her to them.
Should he ask Mirrie??
What if she gets offended?? She certainly doesn't have any obligations to inform him about who all she is friends with when he is not even her boyfriend.
Even when he becomes her boyfriend, he is certainly not going to demand that of her.
He wouldn't be one of those overbearing and demanding boyfriends.
Boyfriend??
How to propose after a single date??
Maybe he could take her out on another one or two dates and then pop the question.
Because he so want to make her his girlfriend and he can’t wait anymore.

Zahir found Izzy under the huge tree in their college.
She was sitting there simply staring ahead with blank eyes.
Zahir sat near her.
"Izzy," he called out softly.
"Zahir," she said and he grinned at her.
"Heyy... How did you guess?" Zahir asked, trying to cheer her up which simply backfired.
"It was easy. Zian just left for his romantic ride," Izzy said with a self pitying laugh.
"Sweetheart, you are a very beautiful girl. Inside out." Zahir said only to earn a glare in return.
"Don't try to placate me Zahir. And don't insult me by saying that I could have any man I want. Because I certainly am not having the one I had wanted for two years. Two damn years, Zahir," she said and her voice broke at the end.
Zahir pulled her into a bear hug and patted her back consoling her. She is a very dear friend.
"It's okay sweetheart. Things will get better," he said and kept talking in soft murmurs.
She pulled back lightly and looked up at him and there was something strange in her eyes.
Zahir didn't understand it until he felt her lips on his.
He stilled for a moment and gently pried her out of his arms.
"Izzy, sweetheart. This is not the solution for anything," he said gently.
"I just want to forget," she whimpered and Zahir felt pity.
"Not like this," he said.
"Why not??Even you, who might have slept with half the population in the university, couldn't bear to kiss me. There must be something terribly wrong with me. Is it any wonder your brother never paid me any attention." Izzy said angrily, though tears were running down her cheeks.
"You are my friend Izzy. A very good friend. We don't want to ruin it," Zahir said sternly.
"That's right. Friendzone me, just like your brother did. Even a certified Playboy had friendzoned me. How pathetic." Izzy laughed humorlessly.
"I am not a playboy, Izzy." Zahir said.
"Haa. You could have fooled me," Izzy said sarcastically.
"I am telling you this because I want you to understand it's not you. Yes, I flirt a lot. But that's the limit. I won't go beyond that." Zahir said and Izzy laughed.
"Zahir. After every party is held ,you take a girl home. And the girls do talk. What a stud you are.You are even known for the wonderful threesomes you have had." Izzy said sarcastically.
"Yes, drunk girls. I take them home. But I never touch them. Those who want to believe otherwise, I let them talk because it was good for my reputation. Those who are happy they didn't do anything stupid while drunk ,it's their matter." Zahir said with a wink.
"Are you telling me you are a virgin, Zahir??" Izzy asked in disbelief.
"What?? No! Definitely not. I was a very curious teen-ager when I joined college," Zahir said, groaning.
"We are not discussing this anymore, Izzy." Zahir said.
He is definitely not going to tell Izzy that he is still a virgin.
He had revealed too much already.
All he could hope was Izzy would keep it a secret or else his reputation will be in tatters.
"You mean you are waiting for The One??" Izzy asked amused. That’s something she hadn’t even imagined in her wildest dreams.
"Certainly no! I don't have any intentions of being tied to someone. I love flirting around. I love my freedom. I am not going to give that up for anything or anyone."
Thousands of miles away....
Emily Langston signed all the dotted lines in the application form, scanned and mailed them to the institute and puffed out a breath.
"London, here I come," she said out loudly, leaning back against her chair.
"Here we come, sis." Emil corrected walking towards her earning a scowl in return.
She is still annoyed with him for using the word protect as the reason for coming with her to London.
It's not safe for a girl to be on your own in a new place thousands of miles away from home. So as a brother it's my duty to protect you, Emil had said.
"That's right!! I will also be there in three months once my semester exam is over and I can get a transfer to the same college where Emil is being enrolled" Adam, her cousin brother, said coming and standing next to Emil.
"Oh for Heaven's sake!! If you say that I need protection one more time, God help me I would deck you both so fast and so hard that you wouldn't even remember who you are." Emily said angrily and the brothers exchanged a glance.
"Of course you don't need protection. But we need yours, right. Remember?? You used to save me from all the bullies. Who will do that if you leave me??" Emil asked and Emily rolled her eyes.
"I am not stupid. Do whatever you want." Emily said throwing her hands up in the air.
"What's going on guys??" A new voice came and Emily turned around to see her bestfriend Aaron Knight.
They had been together since kindergarten and her aunt teases them saying they had bonded over the grief of losing their crushes.
As if anyone would grieve on that stupid bad-boy going away.
She doesn't even remember his name.
Okay!! Admit it Emily... You remember his name very well.
But then how can she forget, when her aunt is hell bent on reminding her about her stupid lack of judgement at the tender age of five when she asked the very very bad boy to be her boyfriend.
Okay that was an emotional decision. She was sad about something, she doesn't remember what, and people are known to make wrong decisions when they are sad and angry.
But she was smart enough to rectify the mistake the next day itself.
She had broken up with him as soon as she got her senses back.
Why the hell was she thinking about all these now?
"Heyy Ron," she greeted her best friend
"You mailed your acceptance form??" Aaron asked curiously.
"Yupp," Emily said with a beaming smile.
"I am going to miss you, Em," Aaron said sadly.
"Aww Ron. Me too" Emily said, pulling him into a bear hug.
Aaron pulled back and grinned at her.
"You know where this year's national inter university fest is held??" Aaron asked and Emily nodded her head in a no.
"At the university Emil has enrolled in" Aaron said happily.
"Wow. Does that mean you will be coming to New London for the fest?" Emily asked in excitement.
"Damn yes I will. I am the football team captain. Remember??" Aaron asked smugly.
"When is this fest held??" Emily asked.
"Dates are not confirmed yet. Within two months for sure."
"Seems like we are gonna have a blast in New London."
