Chapter 38: Chapter 38

“My, what happened to you, my dear?” the fire lord asked as he invited the black-haired demoness inside his room, only a small robe covering his naked body while the two demonesses whom she assigned to watch over him were naked on the bed, one hovering on top of the other as the two busied themselves in licking and pleasuring each other’s woman parts with their tongues.

So much for watching over the fire weasel! she thought as the two barely noticed her presence, not that she cared.

“I told you two were not enough, and I told you that I am much more experienced, I know how to drive a woman mad with pleasure to the point where she won’t be able to stop asking for it,” he said as he looked at the two demonesses moaning loudly, their mouth assaults on each other’s sexes intensifying as they both approached their climax.

“I don’t think I can say the same about your precious Eren!” running his calculative eyes over her body, he faked a frown and met her red eyes, which were no longer the sharp confident ones he saw earlier, but drained and hollow instead.

“My, he didn’t even kiss you!” the fire lord stated and Geraldine felt even more offended, not just by the fire weasel’s words, but by the fact that Eren didn’t even kiss her, and he didn’t, he was burying his head on her neck but he never kissed her, as if he was purely emptying himself of the tension, as if she was not a living woman with feelings, and as if the sex was done by one and for one exclusively without the other.

As if the other, her that is, didn’t matter.

Unable to take it anymore, she screamed at the two demonesses whoring obliviously on the bed, moaning loudly from the intensity of their simultaneous orgasms, the orgasm she didn’t have, while starting their acts all over again.

“Enough!” the two jolted back, instantly pulled out of their lustful states due to the angry and threatening scream, looking at their raging mistress as if noticing her presence for the first time, they quickly and clumsily stood up, bowing their heads, hiding their embarrassment.

“Leave.” Geraldine hissed sharply and the maids quickly obliged, turning back to the fire lord who was looking at her amusingly, he chuckled a little before offering her a cup of alcoholic blood then poured one for himself.

“I thought you might be thirsty.” The fire lord said with raised eyebrows as he watched the girl gulping down the whole cup in one go, not caring about the burn it left on her throat.

“Do you want more?” he asked and she shook her head, she wasn’t there to drink, they both knew that.

She had the shadows’ lord smell all over her, not to mention the smell of alcoholic blood all while she looked sobber, her lips were untouched, her eyes were red and so were her lovely cheeks, she was crying, ugly crying and not just shedding few tears, and that only proved one thing.

The shadows lord had used her…

Perfect! The fire lord thought with an inner grin.

“I don’t think you are here to join our fun, so what brought you here, Geraldine dear?” taking a seat next to her, the fire lord placed his fist under his cheek, supporting his head as he prepared himself for his next play.

“There is no need for you to fake care, lord Micka,” Geraldine said with a steady voice, the fire lord, however, didn’t have any problems detecting her sadness and distress, it was written all over her.

On her swollen eyes, on her shaking hands, on her lost gaze, on her red cheeks, on her uncoordinated and barely composed posture.

She looked like a perfect broken-hearted girl, and those were always the easiest to manipulate.

“Not that I am surprised, but I presume I was right about what I said earlier!”

“We need to take action!” she said, her face straight and determined, but her insides were steering with the annoyance of how confident he sounded about his statement.

His confidence only meant that things were obvious and predictable, making her feel even less of a rival compared to the silver-haired girl.

“We?”

Geraldine stopped for a second, a second of hesitation as a part of her, the sane part, screamed at her not to do this, not to betray the man she loved with all her heart, the one who gave her life a meaning, the one who worked so hard for the sake of his people, her included, just because he didn’t feel the same way about her.

Her actions would ruin everything he had worked so hard for, they might even throw him from the top for she knew he had many enemies waiting for the slightest opportunity to take him down, and her actions would provide them with the perfect one.

He might lose everything, but he will still be hers, and she will be there for him to pick him up, the other part of her, the angry and broken one, answered the first.

“If he lost his control then we are all doomed, I am afraid he is not fit for the task.” Exactly, Geraldine thought, this was for his own good, and as his friend and lover, it was her duty to do what was necessary to protect him, from himself, from the toxic effect of the half Goddess, even if her actions seemed like an act of treason, even if they seemed like an act of jealousy and selfishness, they were for his own sake, and hers.

“I agree, but what do you suggest we do? Darling, I can’t just walk into his room and take her!” He could actually, Micka thought, but then he will have to fight the shadows’ lord inside his own castle.

That sounded like a lost battle, and the fire lord was never the person who would deliberately throw himself into one.

No, he was the man who would study each and every single one of his moves, to know when exactly to strike, and when exactly to step back.

Micka heard a lot about the shadows’ lord strength, and even though he didn’t witness it with his own eyes, he still chose to play the safe way, there were no guarantees that he could defeat the hybrid in a man to man duel, but even if he did, he won’t be leaving the fight unscratched and then he would have to face the entire shadows empire whose lord he just killed.

No, Micka thought, he needed a better way and the black-haired girl in front of him was giving him one.

How ironic, he thought, for she was offering him the silver-haired girl on a silver plate.

“Leave that to me!” Geraldine said with determined eyes, “I will get her out of his room, and his castle, and away from anywhere his eyes can reach her, all you have to do is recapture her.”

“Sounds like a good plan,” Micka said with an approving nod. “However, I feel obliged to remind you that Eren won’t be happy about this, dear Gera. What you are doing is treason, you will be facing serious consequences! Execution would be the least of your worries!”

“I appreciate your concern my lord, but…”

“Oh, I am not saying this out of concern, dear, I need you to fully understand the consequences of your actions and I need you to understand that you are going to suffer them alone in case you got caught. I need to know that you understand all of this perfectly and  won’t be running away out of it later once you realize the depths of what you are throwing yourself into.”

“I understand it fully, So please rest assured for I will not back down once the deal is made, not just for…” she stopped to swallow the bitter lump, “Lord Eren’s sake, but for our cause.”

How easy! Micka grinned internally without letting a single emotion appear on his face, how easy it was to make her believe he had the upper hand in the matter, and she was the one who had to convince him! That she was the one who needed his help and not the other way around!

“You do know, dear, that handing me the hybrid would give me the upper hand in this situation, and in the next war, it would make me, and not the lord you love, the next demon king, so please explain to me, how is this in Lord Eren’s best interest? Forgive my rudeness, but I need reasons to trust you as what you are asking isn’t quite easy, it might ruin the entire alliance.”

“He is losing himself to his bloodthirst, and it is all because of her! I don’t know how, but he seems fascinated by her! she is making him forget who he is, he seems lost and indecisive as if he is no longer sure of our cause! He is keeping her in his bed, the one even I didn’t have the privilege to sleep in!” realizing she had said so much, Geraldine stopped for a second to regain some of her composure. “He can’t do it, he is a hybrid, his human part can’t resist the effect of Gods, nor can his blood resist the thirst, this task needs a pureblooded demon, one that cannot be easily persuaded by a beautiful face!”

That was right, Geraldine told herself, Eren was losing himself, he needed saving, and she was the one who is going to save him.

For so long, they had worked together, for so long she had been by his side, supporting him with all her might, not once questioning his decisions, until now.

He was such an ambitious man, he had so many dreams, and she was always there to dream by his side, work by his side to end the curse that made them the monsters they are.

Even if they refused to admit it, Geraldine knew that not all demons enjoyed killing humans, and sometimes each other, for blood, but without blood, it wasn’t even possible for them to use black magic which was vital for their survival, it was how they developed the instinct of thirst over the years.

And that was the shadows lord's biggest dream, to end that curse and with it the thirst and the need for blood.

To give his people the chance to live a normal life without the horrible burden of taking other’s lives pressing on their conscience until it killed it.

He was probably the only one brave enough to dream that, and that was one of the things she loved about him.

Even his dreams were devoted for his people.

But lately, her beloved lord seemed to find a new dream, one that didn’t include his people nor herself, one that was going to destroy him.

One which had silver hair and pure eyes.

Over her dead body, Geraldine thought, not caring if she had to throw away all their hard work aside and give their trophy to the fire lord, as long as she finds herself back into his dreams, by his side, it was very much worth it.

“Alright then.” Micka laid back in his seat with a satisfied nod. “Name the where and the when.”
