The day off the contract signing decision. The place of the event was already picked and announced.

It was like a celebrity came tethering with all the news teams and cameras about.

Jhonia hesitated to leave Kyhe’s car after seeing the cameras etc. At that moment, Kyhe held her hand with a gentle squeeze. She glances up at him and returns the smile.

“I know you’re a bit, because of the cameras but I’m sure it’s fine, trust me.” He said to her with surety that she wouldn’t have to panic or anything of the sort. She sighed softly and proceeded to exit the car.

She went towards the entrance of the building with Kyhe a few steps behind. While on his phone he bumped into her and came to notice she was staring instead of continuing towards the building.

“What is the matter?” He asked her.

“Are you alright?” he asked with concern.

“Jhoni-”

“I knew it. But for sure I thought I was mistaken that night.” She responded to him saying but he did not understand.

“I’m sorry, what are you talking about?” Kyhe asked as he now stood by her side. Hoping to see who made her stop and stare, after he apologized for knowing not what she spoke of.

“Nearce, as if publicly cheating on me was not enough he now has her at his side and on the call as a job.” She replied to him, after she explained in her own way, he looked up to see Nearce with a woman who seems to be beyond Jhonia’s age.

“Is that-”

“His main sexual personnel? Yes, she is the one he has time for all year round but when I called, he was busy.”

Kyhe was shocked by her words of explanation to who the woman smiling next to Nearce is. Kyhe looked back at her after staring for a while, but he was taken aback because Jhonia was confident as she was leaving his office moments earlier. She walked up to everyone and greeted them with a smile.

“Does she have an off switch for stuff like this?” Kyhe asked as he could not understand that the woman who was staring is now someone who shows no knowing of the individual, she’s aware that she’s her soon to be ex-husband mistress.

“She’s the better version of herself now, she trusts herself. So, when needed she put her pain aside… She can.” Alshane appeared and answered Kyhe’s question about Jhonia having a mood switch.

He turned to him and became angry with him in seconds. Alshane was busy watching Jhonia and smiling that he had not realized his anger.

“Huh? What’s with you, why are you angry?” He questions with shock and asks Kyhe why he was upset.

“You, and your mother, have a lot of answers to do and to me. She thinks that shit she pulled off was funny. That’s past hell she brought back. You have no idea how messed up she was after that shit your mother did.” Kyhe was so mad and after getting angrier he got some news team attention.

“Easy mate. Today is a big day. I am sure you don’t want to mess it up.” Alshane put on a smile and spotted his back and said to him in a low tune. The news folks turned their attention elsewhere; Kyhe flashed his hands away.

“Fuck that, all of it. I will give up the world if it means she has peace. But your mother fuck with that and I will take you and her down with me, if she doesn’t apologize to her.” He was raging with anger that he forgot he was in public. He left and walked pass Nearce without a glance. He has also ignored the news teams who questioned him.

“Should I just name him as the heir to my sister company?” Mrs. Maniak asked as she appeared beside her son.

“I told you it was a bad idea. You anger him, what if he doesn’t take your deal?” He said with anger asking his mother.

“He will.” She replied to him.

“Remember that it’s your company that needs help, not his.” He said to her and her facial expression changed.

“This is also a part of Jhonia inheritance. He will take it. He is willing to kill for her, he will take it and that is already confirmed. How about you blow the net up about Nearce's mistress being his secretary? First thing tomorrow for today is a good day.” She said to him as a reminder that they came for Jhonia, and knowing she is well loved. Whatever she is planning it will come through for it belongs to Jhonia. But she drew a line for Nearce who was smiling away like he knew not what he had done.

Time passed and Jhonia was standing by the buffet picking up side dishes to eat. She got quite excited to see rings on the table, but she had no idea they were spicy.

After eating a lot, she came to realize that they were cooked with pepper mix. The more one eats the hotter they will feel while consuming.

She signals Kyhe she is heading to the juice line. She was rushing as she needed to wash the pepper from her mouth but on her way, she felt the need to use the latrine.

She decided to head there instead. While inside the bathroom, her phone rings and she takes the call.

“Hello!” She waited for the other person to speak.

“How is it going?” Madiea's voice came on over the phone and Jhonia sniffled.

“You would not believe what I came in contact with.” She said in response.

“What?” Tianjie asked as they were all connected to the call.

“Nearce made his main mistress, his secretary. I was so surprised he was on about how he’s going to change and all but with all that he had placed that woman closer to him.” Jhonia kept sniffling because her nose was runny but to Mrs. Maniak who was outside her stall thought she was crying. She left the bathroom before Jhonia left the latrine stall and went to the sink.

Jhonia came out and began washing her hands while listening to the girls cursing Nearce for what he did.

“I mean it’s not like I care, now. Kyhe, mother already gave me his blessing and I heard he already bought a ring. Costume made. When he does ask, I will have to put on my best acting surprised and shocked face.” Jhonia spoke to the girls with a giggling tune in her voice as she explained.

“But weren’t you crying?” Tianjie asked.

“Of course not! I had spicy rings and they made my nose runny. Anyways I should go back and stand by Kyhe, so let’s meet up soon.” Jhonia said to them and explained why she was sniffling the whole time. She finished her work and exited the bathroom, but she did not know that Nearce had thought she was crying and came to speak with her.

He left the stall shortly after she left and walked out into his secretary who was listening from outside. Whom Jhonia walked by without acknowledgment.

“I enter by mistake, so don’t look at me like that.” He said to her and began to sidestep her.

“I hear her, so I know you did too. When I saw him at the diamond store, I thought it was nothing but now, that she said what she said. It made sense he would purchase such a large piece.” She said, stopping him from moving. Halt on the spot and could not move from shock to what he heard. He now knew what he had let go by allowing himself to make such a mess.

“I never said I gave up on her, so you don’t have to tell me all that.” He said and walked off. She grabbed his arm and stopped him.

“I didn’t tell you so you could get mad, but it would be best if you let her go. Because when she was holding onto you, you were using me as an excuse... An excuse to avoid what you truly felt for her. I had gone out on you once and all you did was buy gifts and say sorry and ask me to come back. But with her, you break your entire room into pieces with the thoughts of her being beneath someone else beside you. Killing is easy because you love her, so stop lying to yourself.” She said to him and told him how he used her. She reminded him of how she went out on him and the difference between her and Jhonia. And because he loves her so much, killing would be easy. Jhonia is someone he can kill for her, so he should stop lying to himself.
