Chapter 163: Chapter 163
Later that day!
"Stop drinking, it's not helping." Kuwain said to kyhe who is seated inside a bar at the counter drinking. Kuwain knew Kyhe was very jealous over Jhonia but Kyhe always managed to hide it.
"She's happy. She’s happy with him, laughing at his not funny jokes. She didn't even call me, she didn't text me. Don't tell me to not drink, she doesn't even care about me. Bad woman." Kyhe said in a remorseful tone, he was very jealous of Alshane at the moment for being with Jhonia. While Kuwain was happily taping him to send to Jhonia.
Meanwhile! Jhonia was pushing her keys into the door at the Pinnock's residence. Suddenly the door opened to her, even more surprised it was Nearce who opened the door.
"Don't just stand there, come in." Nearce said to Jhonia with a smile on his face, inviting her in but she stood still.
“Where is she, Mrs. Pinnock I mean?” Jhonia asked him addressing Mrs. Pinnock.
"Come on, do you plan to stand there all night? Come inside and find out." Nearce said to her, then asked before inviting her in once more. Jhonia decided to enter the house.
“Mom.” Jhonia called for Mrs. Pinnock but she got no response.
“Mom!” She called once more but louder than before. She walked to the hall and no one was there.
“Madam left early yesterday and forgot her phone. Ms. Jhonia, she will call you soon from a strange number.” The maid in charge explained to her but after seeing Nearce she acted like she was in trouble.
“When will she be back?” Jhonia asked upon seeing the maid's reaction...
“Speak!” Jhonia ordered her to speak after she kept silent.
“A week at most. I'm not sure but she said, something attracts her attention and she needs to be sure. Madam, it could take up to a month or more.” The maid said, then explain to Jhonia something important came up and that Mrs. Pinnock could be out for a month or even longer.
“Pack your stuff and go to the house she bought me, didn't she tell you to move if she wasn't sure when she would return?” Jhonia said to the maid and asked, giving the maid a hint... The maid quickly realized she's being helped and lowered her head.
“Yes Ms. Jhonia, but I was waiting on the call first.” The maid said, now leaving Nearce confused, the maid never not once left the house even if his mom disappeared for a year.
“Forget the call. Leave in the morning. And you. How dare you trick me into coming here?” Jhonia tells the maid and gives her an order to leave, she turns to Nearce after the maid nodded and asked him.
"When did I?" He asked her, pretending to be surprised.
“I'm no longer your wife to call as you please. Ha, I don't think you thought about what would happen after all the pain you put me through didn't you? Else you wouldn't be doing this now.” She said to him, her voice was steady as she spoke. She chuckled and asked him and said to him, before she stepped towards the door.
"Wait... Jhonia, wait. Please, I just want to talk." He stopped her and pleaded saying he just wanted to talk.
"I don't know what to do. I just want to talk to you, give me that at least please." He sounded like a wounded animal to her, weak and hurting. He pleaded with her. She couldn't help but want to know what he's up to.
“Fine. Lead the way.” She said to him and reached for her phone and texted Kyhe.
“Hey! I'm at the Pinnock's Resident come send me home.” After sending the message she quickly followed up with him to the kitchen. It was like a restaurant for two with a nice meal prepared for a honeymoon couple in a hotel.
“What's all this?” She asked in shock.
"Forgiveness dinner. I realized that I have hurt you in so many ways I don't know where to start. I was blinded by skirts and my money, I forgot the real treasure that could happen to a man... To me, and that was you. Jhonia, I meant what I said at the pool, I just allowed my anger to get the best of my emotion. I'm sorry for all the time I have hurt you. I'm truly sorry." Jhonia just stood there listening to him until she heard the very word sorry twice but she knew those words mean nothing now to her, but she decided to have a seat.
“Why?” Her voice tremble as she asked him,
“Why now? It's almost five years together and all you ever did was hurt me, every single second you get... But it took you this long to realize it. It took this long to say you're sorry.” After asking again she thought about everything she went through but it wasn't enough to make her cry anymore so she thought if her parents and her tears came freely.
“I don't think I can do this.” She said after getting back to her feet.
"I don't expect you to agree to come back to me." Nearce said to her. Jhonia met his eyes trying to see good in him but for a split second she seemed to believe him but from the corner of her eyes she saw someone familiar halfway up the stairs.
“I am sorry Nearce-”
"Think it over. Don't give me an answer now, please." Nearce cuts her off and says to her. She looked at him.
“Okay.” She said and decided to leave. However the person was no longer at the stairs as Nearce had stopped her from getting a better look though she was sure who it was. Jhonia went out and to her surprise it was Kuwain instead of Kyhe who came to send her home.
“What happened? Where is he?” She asked but Kuwain was worried and was glaring at the house.
“Ah, down worry. They are not what you think so stop worrying and answer my question.” Jhonia quickly noticed his worries and assured him she was fine, then asked.
"He's drunk, he thought you were with Alshane." Kuwain told her about Kyhe being drunk and why.
“I was with him but not for long.” Jhonia said to him clearing the air
“I went back to the office hoping he was there, I even waited there for some time but he didn't show. So I came here.” She explained to him with a nod from Kuwain they both decided to get in the car so he could drop her off.
Meanwhile, inside the Pinnock's Resident.
"Why were you on the stairs? Are you trying to ruin my plan?" He asked and she smiled at him.
“No, based on the timing I thought she had long gone.” She said to him, He pulled her to his room.
"I told you before, didn't I? I need her on my side if I'm going to get the chance to cooperate with the Manaik’s." He asked her and explained then left her standing by the door.
“I really didn't know. Plus... Isn't me being here good for you? If she sees me and becomes jealous she will come to you, just wait and see.” She said to him, He nodded in agreement but just then she asked him, making him confused, then she explained making him overthink it and began to wonder about it.
"Kaylia, just do what you're told. Do you hear and understand me?" Nearce called her name and said to her, then asked her to ensure she knew he's serious.
“Yes, I understand. I should be going as well!” She said to him with a moment of silence she said to him after picking her purse and left...
You didn't seem like you needed her for just that Nearce. Your actions spoke louder than your words. But now that she's over you it's hard for her to see. Kaylia's thoughts.
