Rainier stood in front of the hospital room. He squirmed his hands together, admittedly, he was nervous, anxiety filled every fiber of his being. He wondered if he made the right decision, but he had gone so far and he had no choice but to take a step forward. It was difficult heading out from his window without her sister knowing, he thought he was going to die, but there was a certainty in his mind, he needed to do it.
He knocked on the door and after a moment, Raphael opened the door. He had known about Raphael, he was pretty famous after all, and his sister had shown him a picture of Clara with Raphael. But of course he was welcomed with a confused look from him. Behind them, on the couch, Corentin had also woken up from the noise, he had high sensitivity toward noises. Both men were now fully alert, Rainier knew they would be suspicious of him, first thing he did look suspicious, he had to wear a black attire with a hood to prevent anyone from recognizing him. Two, he looked like a mess. His breath was still unstable from fast pacing and his face was pale since he had seldomly been touched by the sun.
"My name is Rainier, I am Renee's brother. I have something I need to tell you." The door was still opened, the man noticed it and went to close it. Since they wanted the conversation to be completely private. It was not a really brilliant idea to have someone come and interrupt them. Once everything was taken care of, Raphael turned to Corentin and they exchanged a mutual understanding. Raphael gestured for him to come inside and Rainier was interrogated by the two.
"Speak." There was slight intimidation in his eyes. He squeezed his hand tightly once more, he was nervous and anxiety began to crawl on his skin. Yet he needed to do it. After years of being threatened by his sister, he finally had a chance to speak up for himself and ended her madness once and for all. He would not be able to do it alone, she had control of everything in the house, from their inheritance which were oddly given to her to the mental state of each and every staff members, this whole time, people have always thought he was the mentally unstable one while she was the sweet eldest sister who took care of her crazy brother.
However, they got it all wrong, and Rainier knew it was time for the truth to be revealed
"The one who poisoned Clara is my sister." Both men were quick to surround him, Raphael grabbed him by the collar, scaring him, but Corentin pulled him back.
"Let him speak." Raphael wanted to punch him by the face but he released his hand anyway. With a deadly glare, he stated. "Explain."
Rainier was still in shock from Raphael's grab, but he had stated the beginning, he must finish it.
"A few days ago when Clara came to our place, Renee gave her a jar of cream, she told her it was just ordinary skincare, and it is supposedly is, but before she handed it over to her, I saw my sister putting two drops of a strange liquid into the jar, she hid the bottle in her drawer and locked it. After Clara was gone, she was laughing hysterically. I knew something was not right. When she was not at home, I pulled the drawer and checked the bottle. It was a plant poison, I am not sure what it is, but I know she is trying to poison Clara."
Rainier was surprised at himself for telling the truth. Both men's expression turned dark. They almost looked deadly. It was obvious at this point anyone could just snap off right away, but they did not. They were silent, each looked at each other and exchanges glances, and nodded. Rainier had no idea what they agreed upon, he did not understand. Still fidgeting his fingers, he lifted up his face and decided to reveal more to these strangers. He did not know why but he felt like he could trust them.
"My sister is a psychopath." he continued.
"Our parents did not die in car accident, it was what she told Clara. They used to put her in a private mental asylum inside our current house as soon as they started realizing her psychotic traits. She killed them, both of them. She sneaked into their room and killed them. She killed them! She killed them!" He was getting slightly hysteric.
"It's partially my fault, I was the one who released her from the asylum. It's because she kept on screaming at night. I could hear her clearly from my room. Every night, she is calling for me. It's my fault. I should not have let her go." Fear and terror was visible on his face. His hand was shaking as he told the story.
"When our lawyer came, she put on a play. Acting like she was the perfect daughter, the house was inherited to me along with their fortune, but she threatened me. The horrible things she would do to me if I dare to say anything. She is a great actress, always putting on a show in front of other people. Slowly, she appeared as the sane one and I was introduced as the insane child, I have no idea why I played along with it. I wanted to resist, but she is still my sister. I could not hurt her." tears began to form on his eyes and he trembled.
"You should go home now." Raphael and Corentin both said in sync. Coldness was present on their tone. They did not seem to care on the last part and Rainier knew it. He should not have added it. But everything has been said and done.
"Tell her she better pray she is not dead tomorrow." Raphael gave him a deadly warning, and at the moment Rainier realized these two men were serious about it. He started to wonder if he did the right decision, but at that point, everything was better than having her remain in control. He could not hurt her for they once shared a womb, but these men were no one to her and vice versa. They could teach her the lesson she needed to learn, no matter how horrible it was.
After Rainier left, Raphael closed the door. And turned to Corentin. His fist was clenched and he stared deeply into his eyes, as if he was transferring all of his wrath and madness around him.
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Corentin nodded.
"Great, cause I will need backup." He stated.
Raphael walked over to Clara and caressed her hair. A drop of tears of rage fell on her pale skin.
"Don't worry love, I'll take care of everything."
