I’ve been avoiding Ysabelle as much as possible these past few days since she came back. Not because I still have feelings for her but to stop myself from kicking her out of the pack. I have ears and I can hear all the talk in the pack regarding her return and her attempt to challenge my mate.
Wendy is trying her best to be strong. I’m thankful that Angel is helping her but it took a lot of energy from Wendy that she can’t even be up before going to bed.
“Mark!”
The door in my office suddenly pushes open and Ysabelle marches inside without asking permission. I think I’ve been very patient with her before that I don’t care if she barge-in inside my office, but now…
“Learn how to knock Ysabelle,” I said.
“Why are you avoiding me?”
“I don’t.”
“Liar!”
“I don’t have time to talk to you right now. I have a lot of things to handle. You may leave.”
“Why are you like this? Is it because I left?”
“I don’t hold grudges like that Ysabelle. I know what you are up to and I’m telling you now to stop it. Wendy is my mate. She’s the right Luna of this pack, not you.”
“But that’s not what they think. Your mate is incompetent. They want her out.”
“They or just you and your alliances here? You may be the best warrior we have before but that does not give you the right to be my Luna. Now leave, I’m done talking to you.”
“I will challenge her.”
I almost break my pen into two when I heard what she said.
“Are you crazy? She’s already marked and I will not let anyone harm my mate.”
“We have our own tradition and you know that. Alphas and Luna's are made not born.”
“I told you not to do this. I was trying to understand you but you’re making it worst.” I said banging my hands on the table.
“You’re supposed to be waiting for me to return, but when I got here, you’re already got that woman.”
“Wait for you? Why would I do that? You’re not my mate and you are the one who chose to leave to do what you want. Don’t blame me if the Moon Goddess herself decided to bestow me a new mate.”
“But that should be ME!!!!!”
“You should be what?” Wendy asked.
I didn’t expect to see my mate and Angel at this hour. I thought their training will last until the afternoon.
Wendy looks at me with questioning eyes.
“It’s nothing,” I said.
“Is it really nothing Mark?” Angel asked.
I look at her. ‘Please don’t push it, Angel. I don’t want to worry my mate.’ I said through our cross-link.
‘She needs to know what may happen to her.’
‘Okay, but not today. She needs to get stronger, stronger than Ysabelle.’
‘Trust me, that b*tch is not strong at all. I trust your mate so why don’t you?’
‘It’s not like that. I just want her to be safe.’
‘She will if you keep that worm out of your pack.’ Angel said.
“It’s really nothing.” I look at Ysabelle “You may leave and next time, make an appointment before coming into my office.”
“But—“
“You heard my mate Ysabelle. Don’t disturb him without a prior appointment.” Wendy said, cutting Ysabelle’s complaints.
Angel is just watching us while smirking. She likes the show.
“I’m talking to Mark, not you,” Ysabelle said.
I’m about to drag her out of my office when Wendy moves fast and grabs her jaw.
“Watch your tongue wolf. I don’t tolerate such a bad attitude. I’m your Luna keep that in mind.” Wendy said before letting her jaw go. “And next time, call my mate by his title. You no longer hold any title here so DO NOT DISRESPECT US by calling us As if we are equal because we’re not.” Wendy said.
I can feel her wolf take over her body. I cannot blame her, she got Beta blood and her title is Luna now. Her wolf will be wild and aggressive towards other wolves that show disrespect in front of her.
“You may be Luna now, but that’s only title until you prove yourself.”
Wendy’s eyes become dark as her wolf started to get mad. She was about to attack Ysabelle but Angel stop and hold her.
“It’s not time yet,” Angel said to her.
She looks at her and understands what she means by those words.
“Get out of here,” Wendy said to Ysabelle.
Ysabelle just shrugs her off but Wendy ignores her.
“I’m telling you this now Mark. I might kill her.” Wendy/Lucy said.
“I won’t stop you but please be careful. You don’t know what she’s capable of.”
“I should get going. My mate is waiting for me as we are celebrating our anniversary today.” Angel said.
“That may be the reason why he is cursing me at his messages saying that I should make you go home early,” I said.
“Oh, I didn’t mean to make you busy today,” Wendy said. She looks guilty all of the sudden.
“Don’t worry about it. I’m the one who insisted on training you. My husband is just being jealous and possessive, that’s all.”
“You should go now,” I said.
“I will. Goodbye Wendy and Mark.” She said before teleporting.
I almost laugh at Wendy’s reaction whenever Angel’s doing her teleportation power.
“You know I can do the same,” I said.
“Angel said that it’s dangerous for you, so I won’t allow you to use it just to impress me.”
“If it’s near tele---“
“I said no Mark. Don’t push it.” She firmly said.
“Okay. You’re the boss of me.” I said as I pull her closer to me.
“I don’t like seeing Ysabelle here in your office,” Wendy admitted.
“I know. I don’t like her too, but she’s a pack member.”
“I know what she’s up to.”
“What do you mean?”
“I know she will challenge me for the position of being your Luna.”
I inhale her scent deeply.
“I can’t stop her, I’ve tried.”
“You don’t have to. I can do it.”
“She’s a skilled fighter and I’m afraid she might hurt you.”
“Trust me. I can do this. This is not only for you and for the pack. It’s for me too. I need to assure you that I’m fit as your Luna. I want to prove to them that I can lead the pack and I can protect it as you do.”
“Okay, if that’s what you want.”
