This is amazing. Having Mark around me makes me feel secure and happy. I never thought I would feel this feeling again, but I was wrong.

We ordered our ice cream and waited in line to get it.

The store must be really famous. Lots of people have been lining up just to buy one. Luckily, Mark knows the owner and can get faster than the others.

“Here is your ice cream,” Mark said as soon as he got back.

I ordered cookies and cream with a spoon of chocolate chips on top, while Mark ordered dark chocolate with hazelnuts on top.

I looked at him and he laughed instantly. He wipes the ice cream on the side of my mouth using his thumb and the sparks run through my face.

“Why did you just come into my life? How long have I lived alone, thinking it will be forever? ” Mark said. I can see how important I am to him.

“I'm sorry, I'm in traffic. I arrived just right, wasn't I? ” I replied.

We both laughed at what I said. Very cheesy and out of character.

“Does eating ice cream make us corny?”

“I think so. By the way, we need to discuss our wedding plans and when will I announce to the pack that you are my mate?” Mark said.

I forgot those things. I will become the Luna of the Wolf Fang Pack if Mark announces it to the pack.

I’m scared, that’s a fact.

However, I need to get used to it. I can’t hide our bond forever and I need to be strong for our people.

Our people sound good.

I looked at Mark and he was waiting for my answer.

“We can announce it on my birthday if you want,” I said. It will be three days from now. I know Mark doesn’t know because I didn’t fill out that part of my form when I transferred here.

“Your birthday will be on Friday. That’s the barbecue night of our pack. It’s a good time to announce it while they are all present,” Mark said.

Does he know about my birthday?

“How do you know that it is my birthday? I do not put it on my records.” I asked.

“You have a very nosy friend, you should remember that,” he said as he chuckled.

His laughing voice was music to my ears.

I’m positive that the bond is starting to get me to crush on him more.

“Yeah right. Nothing can be secret to Allie.”

“By the way, why do you hide it? Don’t you like birthdays or are you hiding your age?” He laughs.

I pinched him in the arm and a satisfying shout came from his mouth.

“I don’t like my birthday. It is the day when my ex-mate rejected me. It reminds me of that painful day,” I said.

He held my hands in his and kissed my forehead.

“You shouldn’t hate your birthday. If you think it’s a bad day, then for me it is not. Because on that day, I was given a chance to have a second chance mate. When he rejects you, you become my mate. I hate the guy and what he did to you, but you might think I’m selfish and crazy being happy because it leads you to me.” Mark said, making my heart flutter.

“Thank you.” That's all I can say.

“Then it settled. On Friday I can announce to the pack that you are my mate.” I can see the excitement in his eyes. “But will you stay in my room starting that day?” He added.

My face heats up. Of course, I should transfer to his room, but it doesn’t come to my mind.

‘He is our mate! Why are you double thinking this?’ Lucy, my world said.

‘You being a horny wolf would make things harder for me if I stayed in Mark’s room.’

‘But that's where we should be, Wendy. He is our mate. Mating is one process of completing the bond.’ Lucy lectures me.

‘I know! But I am not sure if I’m ready for that yet.’

‘We are made to fulfill the mate bond. You cannot delay it any further, because if you do, the Moon Goddess will do something that you will regret.’ Lucy said.

I know what he is referring to. The Moon Goddess will make me put on heat. It will attract unmated she-wolves and will surely make Mark kill them. I know Mark will be a man and will wait till I agree on it, but Lucy is right, we cannot delay it any further.

“I’ll transfer all my things to your room first thing in the morning on Friday,” I said.

I see how it makes Mark feel secure that his mate is going to stay with him.

“You don’t know how happy I am because of what you said.”

“It takes a lot of courage, but you are my mate now. Everything will be alright. You promised that to me,” I said.

“And I will fulfill that promise as long as I’m breathing,” Mark said. He held my hands and helped me to stand. “We should get going now. It will be dark soon. It’s not safe to travel back.”

“You’re right, but let me grab a box of pizza on our way back. I actually like to eat one,” I said.

“Sure, let’s go and grab one.”

We were about to leave when Mark suddenly stopped and stared at the woman getting ice cream and laughing with her companion. They are laughing because the girl put ice cream on the guy’s nose.

Wait, I know that girl. She’s the one in the photo inside the pack. She’s ……

“ANGEL!” Mark shouted.
