Chapter 12: Chapter 12

I knocked on his office door and he let me in. But I was standing there for more than five minutes but he didn’t say anything.

His actions get into my nerves. He's looking at the papers he’s working on.

“Mark, are you going to ignore me?” I asked impatiently. I’m getting irritated by his actions.

He looks at me but gets back on what he’s doing.

“Am I the one ignoring you and the fact that we are mates now?” Mark asked.

“Look, Mark, I told you that I just needed time to absorb everything. How can you act that way?”

“How can I?” He stands up and in just a few seconds, I’m pinned to the wall. “I am the one who tried to reach out for you. What is so wrong with being my mate? If you don’t want me, then reject me.”

I feel a pang of guilt inside of me. The bond started to kick in even though we hadn’t marked each other.

“I just want to know you more. I just want to know what your past is. What are your hobbies or favorites or what do you like in a girl?” I said while fidgeting my nails.

“Know me more? I will tell you this, unlike your stupid ex of a mate, I will not let you out of my side. Do you know how hard it is for me to sleep in a room next to my mate? I lost one, I don’t want it to happen again.” He said. His face is close to mine. I can feel his breath and his wonderful scent engulf me.

I looked at him straight in the eyes and the next moment I felt his lips next to mine. I freeze, literally. The taste of his lips is so amazing. I felt something explode inside my body and I burst into a fire. He slowly moved and waited for me to respond, which didn’t take long to happen. I moved my hands to his neck. His kiss becomes passionate and hard. We let go of each other to get some air, but before I can compose myself, he grabs me and lifts me against the wall. He put both of my legs around him. I can feel his erection poking my sensitive part. His mouth moves from my lips down to the nape of my neck in between my breasts. A sweet moan came out of me and I could feel his erection getting harder and harder. It starts to build fire down my core, but before I open my mouth to say something, he suddenly let go of me. He looks down as if he’s fighting something.

“I can’t do this,” he said.

I’m shocked at what he said. He can’t do what?

“What do you mean Mark?” I asked.

“I mean, like what you said, I want you to know me more. I don’t want to rush you. I know you are just being caught by the bond.” Mark explained.

That makes me breathe. I thought there was something more. He wants to take it slow for me. It makes me smile.

“Thanks, Mark,” I said.

“Are you free later? There’s an ice cream store in town near to our park. It’s my favorite. We can go there later if you like,” Mark said.

I laugh. I didn’t imagine that a guy like him would like to eat in an ice-cream shop.

“Why are you laughing?”

“I didn’t know that a man like you would want to eat an ice cream,” I said.

“Angel and I usually get together after training or if we have some business in the pack. I like it there because it’s cold and the scent of vanilla really attracts me.” Mark says.

I don’t want to be Allie, but I feel a pang of jealousy about this mysterious girl named Angel. Mark adored her, talking to her in front of me made me feel a bit jealous.

“Sure, we can go later after you finish your work or after lunch,” I said.

“Great. Before lunch, I’m sure I’m done with the paperwork and we can eat in town for lunch before we go to the ice-cream store.” Mark answered. He looked happy and excited.

I’m wondering how old he was when he became the alpha of this pack. Does he enjoy his teenage life? Sex with girls? Why would I even think that?

“I’ll leave you now to do your work. I’ll see you later.” I said, but before I could leave, he grabbed me and kissed me again.

“See you later,” Mark said.

I walked out of his office without even looking back. I feel my face burning. He caught me at that moment. That guy is really good at making surprises and he is being clingy, which I like.

I went to my room just to see Allie’s figure on my bed, reading books.

“What are you doing here, Allie? Don’t you have some beta task to do?” I asked.

“Are you kicking me out, Wendy?”

“Yes, I want to sleep,” I said.

“Not until you tell me what is up to you and Alpha Mark,” She said.

“I don’t want to talk about it. We just got a little emotional about knowing yesterday that we are mates. There are things I need to figure out and information needed to acquire,” I said.

“That’s all? No sex? No kissing scene?”

“Allie!” I threw her my pillow. She hit her right in the face.

“Hey! No need to be violent. I’m just asking.” She said.

“You’re asking me if I already had sex with Mark? I just met him two days ago and he was for my mate, not more than twenty-four hours, and now you’re asking me about sex?” I said. I’m getting annoyed now.

“Okay, calm down. If not sex, then kiss maybe?” She asked, smiling brightly at me.

I blush instantly and she giggles.

“I think it’s not right to open about it. It’s our relationship, Allie.”

“Why not? Kayden and I were already fully mated last night and I’m already marked by him. Do you know how good he is at making me c----”

“Allie, shut up! Too much information, girl. My gosh! My poor innocent mind.” I cut her off before she continued telling me how Kayden fucked her.

“I’m just messing around. What are you going to do today? We can tour around”, she suggested.

I look at the time. I think we can’t come back on time if we leave now.

“Maybe tomorrow. Mark and I will leave later after he’s done with his paperwork. He asks me to eat out for lunch,” I said.

“A date? Gosh girl, finally!”

“Why?”

“As far as I know, you never dated anyone. Even humans who are trying to hit on you, you will ignore them and reject them automatically.”

“This is different this time. Mark is my mate. I don’t want to play other’s heart when I can’t give mine.”

“Wendy, you are really a darling. Mark is so lucky to have you.”

“And Kayden is lucky to have you too. Just become less argumentative bitch.” I said and she hit me with my pillows. We kept doing that until we heard Kayden calling him.

“Got to go girl. Kayden told me that he would train me with some female beta shit work.” Allie said.

“Allie! Language?”

“Okay, Luna. The prim and proper Luna.” She bows at me before leaving my room.

I wonder how they will work their relationship. I don’t even know if Kayden can handle her.

‘Now is not the time to talk about other people’s relationships. We have a mate to handle.’ Lucy said.

‘I know, but she’s part of our family also.’

‘The mother goddess will not let them get together if she knows they will not fit for each other.’

‘But she let our mate reject us.’

‘There’s always a reason for everything. Mother Moon Goddess knows what she’s doing and she makes some struggles to overcome their weakness.’

I didn’t say anything. I know she’s right. But the Moon Goddess way is painful.

Now let us see what I will wear later for that ice cream mate of mine.
