Chapter 11: Chapter 11
I didn’t get much sleep last night. I think of all the things that happened to me yesterday.
I am now the chosen Luna of the Wolf Fang pack and Mark is now my mate!!! For the Moon Goddess' sake! I didn’t imagine that these things might happen to me.
‘Maybe this is our destiny, Wendy,’ Lucy said.
‘But do you think that we can do it? I mean, can we be a Luna of a big pack like this?’
‘You worry too much. We’re from a beta family before. We have a strong bloodline before our parents died. It just happened that our previous Alpha didn’t help us to enhance our strength and made us lower than omega.’
Lucy is right. I was born in a Beta bloodline. My dad and his dad were the previous betas of the Full Moon pack, but Alpha Nicolas never trained us to become betas either. He also replaced my dad with Arthur’s father as the new beta.
‘I’m just nervous about what might happen.’
‘Rather than being nervous because of being a Luna now, why don’t you think about our mate. I’m sure he’s sad or mad because of what you said last night.’
‘I know I’m wrong to act that way, but what can I say? I’m so shocked at the sudden revelation.’
‘I understand, but as we know the story now, of why he acted like that. I think we had better talk to him and sort things out. He is our mate now, Wendy. I don’t want to lose another mate again.’ Lucy sadly says. I understand her. If it’s painful for me, I doubt her because of the nature of the wolf. I know she can still feel half her soul left. The bond between me and Mark had just started. It still needs progress.
‘And sex.’ Lucy added.
‘Shut up Lucy! You become a horny dog.’
‘Wendy, sooner or later you will ask again if I’m horny or you are.’ Lucy says, mocking me.
‘Oh! Just shut up. I’m not yet ready for that.’ I said.
‘Then be ready.’
‘Let’s cross the bridge when we get there.’ I said.
‘Wolf doesn’t use that term, Wendy.’
‘I will stop now. I can’t win this battle with you.’ I said.
I know she will retaliate again with another mocking word but we hear a knock on my door. I don’t have to open it because Allie comes inside without even bothering to say hello.
She looks like she’s mad and ready to kill someone.
“Hey, what happened to you?” I asked.
“Angel was Kayden’s, first love.” She said. She slams on my bed and screams at my pillow.
Angel’s was Kayden’s first love? Wow, that’s bad news. Knowing Allie’s attitude, Kayden would be in a bad position.
“Allie, it’s in the past now. Kayden didn’t know you at that time and we didn’t even know how close they were. Mark told me that she sees Angel as his little sister. If Kayden saw her as a potential mate that time before he met her, that’s already in the past.” I said, trying to make her understand the situation.
“Are you my friend Wendy? Why do I feel that you are siding with Kayden and that Angel girl?” She said.
“I’m your friend. That’s why I’m telling you this. As I mentioned a while ago, Angel is a big part of Mark and Kayden’s lives. Even if we are their mates now, we can’t blame them for having a relationship with other wolves. You even have one or two before, right? Did he know that?” he shakes his head. “See? What if you tell him about it and then he tells you he understands, what will you feel?” I asked.
“This is why you’re my best friend. You always give the right advice whenever I act like that. I love you, Wendy.” Allie says as she hugs me.
“You are more than my best friend Allie. You’re my only family now,” I said.
She pulls away.
“That’s not true. You have a mate now and I think he is waiting for you downstairs to eat breakfast with us.” She said.
“And you just telling me that right now?” I panicked. It’s almost eight in the morning. I am already one hour late for the scheduled breakfast in the pack.
I rush downstairs as I pull Allie with me. When we got there, I only saw Kayden and Mark. Andrew might have left already since he is the third in command that facilitates the training of the pack.
Mark looks serious while Kayden looks a little bit sad. Maybe Allie said something. I look at her but she just looks at the floor.
I pushed her to sit next to Kayden while I sat next to Mark. As soon as we settled down, Mark called someone to bring the breakfast. I eat silently while feeling awkward about this situation.
I look at Kayden. “Kayden, I had already talked to Allie about the issue about Angel. You two should talk about it later. You will understand Allie as days pass by. She’s kinda’…. How can I say this? Stubborn? Hard-headed?” I laughed at my own words and I felt that Allie was trying not to laugh either.
“Thank you, Luna, but I hope you and Alpha Mark talk about your problem too,” Kayden said.
Those words caught me off guard. I look at Mark but he’s busy eating his food.
“I will talk to him later,” I said.
“He’s here now. Why don’t you start talking to him like how you talked to me a while ago,” Allie says.
I eyed her. She’s getting back to me this time.
“There are things that need to be done in private rather than bursting into a room and screaming into a pillow. Poor pillow.” I said with a fake sad face.
She rolls her eyes at me and I hear Kayden’s laugh.
Allie elbows him and he suddenly stops.
I heard scrapping for a chair and when I looked at where it came from, I saw Mark’s retreating figure.
Now, what’s wrong? I asked myself.
“He’s in a bad mood since this morning. I don’t want to ask why. I think you should talk to him. He seems mad and sad at the same time.” Kayden said.
“Now, what did sweet Wendy do to the poor Alpha,” Allie says.
“Allie!” Both Kayden and I shouted.
I agreed with him and followed Mark.
I need to know what’s wrong and fix it right away. I can’t live here like this.
