Chapter 18

In beast world

They all were lying on the ground. They could see the sky was not bright and it gives chills to the bone by seeing the environment. The tree was like a ghost standing, it didn't have any leaves. The cold wind blowing that enters up to the backbone and runs in the spine.

They all get up and check out the environment. Even though the area was not as bright as the human world, they could see each other face easily and if there was any kind of danger then they could tackle it easily.

Bred said,”let’s go forward”.

Rose and Cian both nodded and started to walk in front. They were on their guard and looking here and there and opening both eyes and ear.

Rose said,”I think we should split up and if there is anything, call each other names”.

Bred said, ``Rose, you and Cian go together as I will look alone”.

Rose was about to say no when Bred whispered in her ear, ”he is human and he didn't have any power like us, and we can’t let him die here, so it’s better you two stay together”.

Rose nodded.

Rose said, ”if you have gone too far then just write a letter and send me”.

Bred nodded and went in the other direction. As for Rose and Cian they walk towards the front.

Cian said,”why do I have to stay with you?”.

Rose said, ”you don't know anything about this world and it’s better you stay with me”.

Cian said, ”don’t worry, I will protect you as it's my job to protect people”.

Rose didn't want to say anything more so she just said,”thank you, I am looking forward to your protection”.

Just as they finish talking, a sound from the grass. They both heard this and looked toward the source from where the sound had come.

Just in these few seconds, there comes a beast jumping towards them. Rose and Cian both see that beast jumping towards them. Beast body was like that of a tiger but it had longer teeth and its color was brown. It came towards them, opening its mouth. Cian pulled out the gun from the backside of his waist and tried to shoot but………

Rose took out a knife which was in her waistline and carried it with right hand and cut the neck of the beast which was so near them. When she cut the neck she turned around and reached the left side and the blood that came out from the beast was sprinkled in the jacket of Cian. He saw that the blood of Beast was green and it was some kind of liquid.

Rose squatted down and cleaned her knife slowly with grass.

Cian also put down his gun and said, ”you killed it”.

Rose didn't look towards him but was busy cleaning her knife and said, ”otherwise he would be chewing our flesh with those teeth and we would be lying on the ground”.

The letter from Bred arrived in front of the Rose and Rose read it and said,”let’s go before it wakes up”.

Cian also moved along with Rose and said, ”before it wakes up?.....it isn’t dead?”.

Rose said while walking, ”no, it is dead for now but will be alive after sometime”.

Cian said, ”do you mean he is not fully dead but just faint, but the green liquid ...ahem ..that blood was sprinkled in my jacket and I can surely say that the cut you made was really deep even if it was one stroke”.

Cian clearly saw the sharpness of Rose’s knife when she was cleaning it. It was really sharp and the knife was shiny.

Rose said,”yes, he is not dead but slightly faint”.

Cian said, ”but how?”.

Rose said calmly, walking towards the place that Bred told, ”do you remember what was written in the letter, in one line it say “the place where nothing is extinct”, so the beast that is living here is not extinct because he will not die”.

Cian understood now and said ,”that’s why you say he will wake up”.

Rose looked at him and said in a soft voice, ”yes, Mr.Cian”.

When he listened to this he felt something going on in his body but it was just for a second so he forgot about it.

After some time they reach the place that Bred had told them about. The place was den.

Bred said, ”Here is something that I want to show you .''

Rose nodded and the three moved towards the den. There was some kind of drawing in there but due to dim light it can't be seen and to see you need to have light. They didn't have a torch nor a mobile phone.

Cian said,”we need to burn the woods and from the light we can see what is written in this wall “.

After this, Bred brought some branches of the tree and it was dry so they could burn it easily. Cian brings two small stones which can help them to light the fire. They placed the branches in the middle and cian started to hit the two stones together so they could burn the branch. The fire was lit after trying it for five times.

Cian said, ”when we were in the surviving camp, we used to do this to light the fire”.

Bred said,”we also used to do this ,and there was a time when Rose said she wanted to do this and she tried and tried and tried but she could not light the fire and then….”.

He stopped after saying this. Cian was curious to know what happened afterwards so he could not help but ask, ”then?”.

Bred laughed and said, ”then she was about to cry and she threw the stone and left that place and returned to the palace”.

Rose smiled when she listened about this and thought that she was really childish.

Cian saw her smile which looked so mesmerizing in this firewood light. He could not describe that smile, it was the best smile he had ever seen in his life.

Rose felt the gaze of Cian and said,”I think we should see the wall to know what picture is there”.

Cian came back to his senses and put his straight face and they looked towards the wall. In the wall there was a waterfall picture and after that there was a five statue and then there was a chain.

There was only this picture. Rose said,”so according to this picture we need to find the waterfall first and then the statue and we will get the chain”.

Bred said,”so let’s look after it”.

Cian and Rose nodded. Bred saw something in the Cian jacket and asked, ”what’s that in your jacket?”.

Cian said,”it’s the blood from the beast”.

Bred said, ”beast?”.

Rose said, ”when we separate we encounter a beast and when I cut it it’s blood get on the jacket of Mr.Cian”.

Bred frowned when he heard this. Rose said, ”don't worry, we both are fine”.

Bred said,”I am not worrying about you two but the beast that was sliced by your knife. I know how sharp its blade is”.

Cian also wanted to say something when he saw Bred frowning but he never thought that he would get this answer. After listening to Bred he gulped down his word that he was going to say.

Cian said, ”and about the blood, it’s not much more and I would have thrown this jacket but the problem is it’s so cold here and I don't want to lose the warmth of this jacket”.

Rose said,”it’s alright Mr.Cian and you can wash it when we reach the waterfall”.

She patted Cian’s shoulder and said,”let’s go Mr.cian”.

Rose and bred walked together but they didn't listen to the footsteps of Cian and when they turned back he was still standing there. He was looking at the place where Rose patted. The touch was the same as his angel. Seeing him like this, Rose came back and clapped her hands in front of Cian's face. After listening to the sound of handclap, he came back to his senses.

Rose said while smiling,” if you daydream like this how can we reach the destination Mr.Cian”.
