Chapter 72: Chapter 72
Matthew
"What? They went back?" I asked.
"Yes, the night they abducted Traizle, they fled out of this city. When my team went there in advance to the area we located, we reviewed the CCTV and saw them leaving the city." The investigator explained.
"We should head as well. I don't think it is safer for Traizle if we don't do anything as of these hours. Those people who abducted her can hurt her." I told them.
Her mother had done an unbelievable thing already. What's more, they can do? I hope they won't hurt her. I should not have left her last night. I was too reckless and only thought about our date.
We, together with my employees, headed back to our city. I immediately went to Traizle's family to tell them the updates.
"I cannot believe that her mother can do it to her daughter because of money?" Dad Albert expressed his disappointment.
"She has let go of us since then. It is no wonder why she can do that to Traizle." Lyndon said worryingly.
"We should save Traizle now, and she needs our help." Layzen added, crying.
"Let's call her. We will try to outsmart their mother and tell her to make promises she can hardly say no to," Archane suggested. "In that way, the investigators can locate her, and she can bring us to where Traizle is."
"We should also go up where they can't notice the police. They warned me about it a while ago. We will let the police officers go to the location first, so they won't notice that there are police waiting for them." I explained.
We told the police about our plan and let them use it as our bait. I quickly dialed the number that Aunt Isabel had given me before. I didn't know that this would be useful in times like this.
"Yes?" Isabel answered on the other line.
"I will give you a black card with unlimited spending. Just give Traizle back to me." I answered right off the bat.
The other line went quiet for a while. The investigators started to locate Isabel's location as well.
"How can I be sure of that?" she asked. "You might be just pulling a bait to let Traizle go." she added.
"Why would I joke where Traizle's life is on the line?" I asked back. "I got tons of money, which is the only thing I can offer you. If you want billions or trillions, then name it. I can send it to you right away. Just give her back to me first."
"Okay—what are you doing!" We heard a commotion on the other line.
"Hello?" I asked.
There is a loud noise at Isabel's place. "Stop it! How dare you do this to me!" I heard her yelling.
What the hell is happening to her? I can't hear anything aside from Isabel's voice. Is she even with Traizle in the first place?
The investigators signed me with an 'okay' gesture. I ended the call without waiting for her.
"I guess they thought Matthew wouldn't call for police officer help." Archane commented.
"They just abducted Traizle without any prior plan. They thought he would be too scared to call for help to save Traizle." Lyndon added.
"Then, let's act like we have no police or investigators' help. They will go to the location first, and I will follow," I told them. "I want you to stay away outside of this house no matter what. It would be dangerous if you guys went out too."
As per our plan, the police officers went first before me. When I reached our destination, we saw a small house. I head out of my car and approach the house. The police are in their place if things go wrong.
"We confirmed that Mr. Limede is inside the house. There is a possibility that Traizle is inside of that house as well." One of the police officers explained.
Usually, people who abduct a person will be more on guard. Are the movie and real-life abductions very different?
Before the officer could sign us to move, he told us to stop. "Why?" I whispered.
"There is happening inside of the house." He whispered back.
"What?" I said. "Then we should go there quickly." I added.
I went ahead of the house. I couldn't stay in our position longer when there was activity inside. The door opened and showed Traizle going out.
"Traizle?" I called her.
Traizle looked at me, shocked. "What are you doing here? You should not have gone here!" she said madly.
"What happened to your face? Did they hurt you?" I asked.
She has bruises on her face. "I am sorry. Did I make you worried? We should head back to your house." she replied.
"No, we should head back to your house. Your family is waiting in your house worriedly." I told her.
We went inside my car.
"Right," Traizle suddenly said. "Call the cops, and I'll put them in jail for a week." she added.
The officer knocked outside. I opened the car door. "I brought a police officer with me." I told her.
The police officer went inside our car.
"I want you to take them," Traizle commented. "They abducted me last night from the resort where we are staying," she added. "This bruise on my face was caused by my mother, who used to beat us when we were young. I want to file a case against my mother. Will that do?"
"Yes, Ma'am. We gathered some evidence about it regarding the violence your mother committed." The officer answered.
We headed straight to Dad Albert's house. They all approached Traizle worriedly.
"I am okay, don't worry. This bruise happened a while ago while fighting with Mom." she shared.
"How did you leave the house without them stopping you?" I asked, wondering.
If you abduct a person, will you let them leave the house freely? Of course not, right?
"Last night, while I was waiting for you. Mr. Limede approached me and asked his two men to get me," she shared. "When I woke up, I was in that house. I heard my mother talking to you. I can't let them use me as their bait. That's why I agreed to ask you for a large sum and even told them that Dad would contribute. When they let go of me, I decided to crush their bones and faces. I beat their men and act like I will throw the vase I got."
How can she be cooler?
"I can't accept that your mother did that for just money." Dad Albert said.
"Mr. Limede is mad at Mom for spending too much when their business is in danger," Traizle answered. "I won't let them get any money from Matthew." she added.
I was so scared that something terrible might happen to her. I guess abductions in real life and movies are very different. My wife just proved it to me to my face.
She is too lovely. I almost cried out of worry that I might lose her, yet she sat beside me comfortably.
I told the police and my lawyer about the cases I would throw at them. I won't let them get away from this. They hurt my wife, and they will pay the price.
"We should file a restraining order for them to not be able to approach us anymore." Lyndon suggested.
"Do not worry. I asked my lawyer to process that." I told them.
"Our saving plan did not work out at all." Archane commented.
"You planned to save me?" Wife asked.
I nodded. "Yes, I went here straight when Mr. Limede contacted me. I thought of how the movie abduction would be done. That is why we made a plan to save you." I explained shyly.
Why does it sound so lame?
I could not save her. I felt this embarrassment so intense. How unmanly it is.
I need to show her how manly I am. That is right! I need to get my confidence back! Just you wait, wife!
