Chapter 37: Chapter 37

A haggard looking woman came out down from the bus, she was tall and slim. Her nails were long and unkempt, her skin had gone tanned. Her hair, had probably hadn't seen anything like water for a long time. She had grew wrinkles in her face. She looked so dead though she was still living, upon reaching her destination. Over her head was a veil. Covering her face. She didn't want anyone to recognize her, that's if they could actually recognize her. She was a different person now. She couldn't recognize her own side in the mirror.

Glancing around the familiar neighborhood, memories she had been trying to forget was flashing through her.

How long has she been away?

Standing in front of the prominent bungalow of Lucas. She turned away, feeling the pains of what happened that night. Right there in her chest. She grip her heart.

Her eye had gone teary-eyed it felt like yesterday she they were trapped in the basement.

The girl over them.

The demon she was. Towering over them. Her dark eyes the veins and the claws. The way it dug into her eye.

Her whimpers.

Lucas cries.

The screams from them both.

She would have been died if Lucas hadn’t come in. Dying in her stead.

But she did have her own share.

Touched her eye through the veil.

She unlocked the wicket gate, while entering she pulled off her veil.

Revealing her patch eye. She touched the eye. With was just one eyed woman.

"Am back Lucas "

She smiled sadly.

"Am sure the sighs are happening already "

She looked around. How she had missed the life they had. Lucas and her. The happy life they’d live, exploring different stuff hers had led to their death.

Her life.

Everything was ruin now.

There was no way it's gonna be fix.

No way she’s ever gonna be happy with just an eye....

"It's almost full eclipse. She's experiencing the signs now, the weakness.

Everything is happening so fast than I thought and here I am now.

Back to where I was once running from

Oh! Lucas if only you were here.

Well, It's time to clean up the mess we made ..."

“And end her once and for all, the sign of death is coming already, it's time we kill her and the demon completely.”

She exhaled. Running her hands down the gate.

“That’s why I'm back here. To get rid of her. Out revenge. I'm here to get it and make her pay for an eye and destroy everyone she loves and who loves her. If there's anyone who had cherished her, there's no way she would have live this long. And that only means there's someone who loves her and that's where we're gonna start our revenge from.”

She laughed.

Roy paced was up down in the study of Lucas. He tapped his feet getting really impatient. He had hurried down there when he heard received the the phone call to come over. And now he was here at his father's house. Thinking about who the caller was.

But he didn't gotten a clue yet.

But the voice had sound familiar.

He couldn't leave Beryl alone, he doesn't trust her anymore so he had her chained to the bed. With her hands above her head. And shut the door. There was no escape for her. Now or ever, till death do them apart.

He's never letting her go.

Never ever!

Till he's perhaps done with her. And he doesn't think he would ever be done with some with her.

She was trapped with him. Just the same way he was trapped with her.

Damn!

He is in love with her!

Isn't that what love is, when you can stop thinking about the person and you can't let them go either.

That's love!

Ha!

Then she came out of the other room. He turned when he heard the sound of the door opening, He stared at the strange looking woman With her eye patched.

Trying to recognize who she is.

And what the hell was she doing here in his father house. How did she get through?

How did this witch get in here.

“Roy”

She called him.

The voice rang in his head. Shock was written all over his face as he got a clue on who she was. The woman he had been looking for. She was right here.

She came to him.

She came back home.

He ran to her, hugging her immediately.

"Anika!"

He cried on her shoulders.

"You're survived"

She pulled back.

"How have you been Roy "

"Miserable since my father's death"

"Am glad you came back"

He cried.

"This isn't time for that Roy.

We don't have much time left"

"Come with me Roy. Our lives are at stake at the moment "

"We must head to the lab right away. It's almost full eclipse. Five days before the eclipse we need to hurry”

“I don't care about that now, you don't know how long have been looking for you. I hadn't been myself for long, without you or my father. You both left me. Alone!”

He cried.

“My poor baby.” she touched his face. And blink the tears away from her eyes.

“I’m so sorry. I had to leave the town. Else she would have killed me. If she found out I was alive.”

“Don’t ever leave again, you're the only one I've got now. Just you.”

She hugged him.

“We’ll be together, we'll win the fight. Now that she's weak, she couldn't do much harm before the eclipse. That's why we need to prepare fast and avenge your father and I for what she did to us.”

He nodded.

“We’ve been looking for her but haven't seen her.”

“Don’t bother looking for her anymore, she would come to us now.”

“How?”

“I’ve a plan.”

She walks briskly away from him. Heading towards the lab.

"It's time we make a deal with the devil herself "

"Time for the final blow"

Dixon flippers through the newspaper absentmindedly while he waits patiently for Maeve, it shouldn't take this long just to fix her hair and clothes.

Why does it fee like forever just to have that done. The first time wasn't didn't take this long or was it just as long as this.

He couldn't tell but she was taking so long to her Maeve dressed up.

He had taken her out to get dressed and have her hair done. And now it was taking forever maybe it was because he missed her. Her missed her being around him.

And now a minute away from her feels like an hour.

Picking up another magazine, he flipped through it again, staring blankly at the caption.

Isn't she done yet?

He was getting pissed, should he go in and check. See what they're doing so he doesn't be so worried about her.

He should wait for a while may be she would have been out by then if not he would have to barge in and see whats going on.

"Hey Dixon "

He looked up, slowly rising to his feet, the magazine falling from his hands.

Is this Maeve-alien or someone else.

His eyes almost popped out of his socket.

Watching her walking towards him.

Her hair was dark red, neatly parked in a ponytail. Her face was glowing as she smiles.

Her floral gown was pretty, stopping halfway her thighs. He had always knew she was pretty but each time she got dressed even if it was just a simple dressing she always look mesmerizing that he could hardly get his eyes off her.

"Get hold of yourself man "

He yelled at himself.

Slapjacks himself.

What's wrong with him, anyway.

"Do I look different "

Staring at her again, she was in front of him, standing so close to him that he felt uncomfortable and had to move backwards, picking up the magazine from the floor.

"Hey"

"Huh?"

"I look different right, my hair.." she touched it.

"..my dress and look the shoes. I always felt different each time I wear a different dress especially beautiful one.”

She points down at the flat shoes.

He chuckles amusingly.

"You look beautiful Maeve. You always do.”

She blushed. She hurried to his side beaming while she tugged his arm.

"We're going on a date right?

"Yeah”

Dixon answered wondering what the conversation was heading.

"We should do what they do.”

“What they do?”

“Yeah, in movies and those girl in there talk about it too. That said you're handsome.”

“I’m handsome for you only.” he drew her cheek a little.

“So, what do they do in movie. And what the girl were talking about”

“They asked if we had kissed and you know enjoy the sweetness of life. When we're gonna have sex.” she winked.

“Are you becoming naughty now. Who told you that? Sweetness of life huh”

"Those girls over there. When are we gonna do it?”

“When you're a ready.”

“I’m ready now.”

“Here?”

“Yes.”

He covered his face laughing so hard. She was so naive. And sweet.

"You shouldn't listen to what anyone say except me. What did you tell me.”

“That we'll soon. You always give me what I want anyway.”

“Is that what you want now?”

Maeve pouted her lips at him. He kissed it. Giving it a little bite.

“Bad luck.” he heard a voice say, he turned and saw two girls staring at them but quickly hide their face. When their eyes met his.

She chuckled. And pulled away from him.

“You’re so cute.”

taking her hands in his and intertwined their fingers.

"Let's go "

"Where to?"

"Somewhere you're gonna like"

He winked at her...

“Is there sweetness there?”

“Yeah plenty of it.” he laughed.

They sat in a boat. While the boat man paddle across the water. He was going round the waters. Maeve gaze at the skies. Watching the stars. With a smile on her face. The sight was beautiful. Dixon was beside her. With her hands in his.

He place them on his chest.

He spun around to face her.

Unexpectedly, claiming her lips on his, he wanted to do that when she came out of that room, completely breathtaking. But he couldn’t bring himself to do it.

Her lips was soft and plump, he wrapped her hands around him. While he pulled her closer to himself, sneaking his hands around her waist. And make her seat on his thighs.

Gave her lips a little bite.

She parted her lips for him, giving him access to her mouth.

She could feel her stomach knots in way she couldn’t explain, enjoying every bit of the feelings.

Tender and loving,

Moving in a slow rhythm.

Kissing deep down her soul.

She could feel it, working like magic moving in her, those feelings she didn’t want him to stop.

He forgot that they were been watched and continued kissing her, loving the taste of meat in her mouth..

He paused her.

“I wanted to tell you this, I've steal the keys to your heart. I love you Maeve. I never want to hear you crying or sad. That's why I write songs for you. I want Maeve, just you.”

She sniffed. Wiping the blood that was coming out of her eyes. There she was finding a way to tell him that's she was gonna die, she won't be beside him anymore.

He resume kissing her. She kissed him back. His hands sneaks into her back going up and down her bare body. Then went down to her butt and grabbed them.

He kissed down to neck. Biting and kissing the spot.

He would perhaps leave a hickey on her neck.

She don't wanna die.

She kissed him, with everything she's got. Her hands running over his jet black hair. The feeling was was hot and romantic.

His phone rings from his pocket disrupting the moment he blatantly ignored it.

It rings again.

He didn’t bother pulling away.

Until she drew back, trying to catch her breath.

She leaned her head on his forehead. Gasping for breath.

“I love you Maeve.”

“I love too Dixon.” he smiled. And peck her lips.

pulled it out and gaze at the caller ID. It was Linda.

Why was she calling him?

He should call her back.

She pick up at the first ring.

“Dixon..” was her whimpers.

“The doctor said, he won't survive a night..” she sobs.

“You have to come now, he wants to see you. We'll be holding the family dinner tonight.” she cried.

“He has less hours to spend with us.”

“Why did it change?”

“I think Peru was here. He gave him something, he told me it would help him. And then now...” she cried.

“Why did you let him in. I warned you mom. I told you he was a suspect.”

“I’m sorry. I was desperate. I wanted him to get well.” she cried on the phone.

“I’ll be there now.”

“Please be fast.”

“I’m on my way”

She pulled the phone away from his ear.

“Its my dad. He need us now.”

“You should go.”

“We should go, cause you're coming with me.”

He held her hands and kissed it.

“Let’s go baby.”

She smiled as he called her like that. She got off his from his thighs.

“Take us back please.”

The boat man turned the boat.

“We’re coming back home.”
