Chapter 6: Chapter 6

I resisted the urge to let out a moan in pain as I stretched to check the time on my phone. 3:44am. I sighed just as another wave of pain hit my lower stomach. Aunt Flo decided to make an appearance and let me tell you, she's kicking my ass. I nudged Thiago with my elbow. "Thiago wake up." His eyes slowly opened and he groaned before closing them again. "What do you want?" I bit my lip trying to ignore the stabbing pain in my lower region. "Um.." He sighed and looked at me properly. "I need tampons." I was glad it was dark so he couldn't see the blush on my face as I spoke to him. "Okay." I was a little surprised at his reaction, I thought he would be either really grossed out or pissed off that I woke him up. He tiredly got up and grabbed his car keys off his bedside table. "Do you need anything else?" I shook my head and he nodded in response. "Go to sleep, I'll be back soon." He quietly left the room after putting a hoodie on over his sweatpants and t shirt which he was sleeping in.

I felt myself being shaken slightly. "Sophie." I mumbled in response as I opened my eyes groggily. "Your tampons are in the bathroom." I nodded and sat up to go to the bathroom when another wave of pain caused me to grab Thiago's arm tightly. He stayed still and waited for me to let go of him. "Is it really that bad?" I nodded and stood up feeling slightly faint. "I've always had really bad periods. This is normal for me." He frowned at this.

"Go to the bathroom, I'll get you a hot water bottle." I couldn't help the small smile that spread across my face at his thoughtfulness. He didn't say anything else, so I went into the bathroom.

When I came back he handed me the hot water bottle for my cramps. "Thank you." He nodded silently as we both got back into bed. "Why were you crying earlier? Did you speak to your mom?" I sighed and nodded as I got more comfy in the bed. "Yeah, she's not coming, neither is my dad. They hate me." It was quiet for a moment before he spoke again. "What about your brother and sister?"

"She said she'd ask them, but I doubt they'll come." He sighed and rubbed his hand over his face. "I'll deal with it." I didn't say anything to him since I was too tired to talk about that anymore. "I just want that day to be over now." He chuckled quietly before closing his eyes. "I think everyone does".

I sighed in frustration as I stared at myself in the mirror. "You look beautiful Sophie." I shook my head and walked over to the couch. "I don't. It's all wrong." Thiago's mom, Paola, smiled at me and took a seat next to me. "It's perfect, trust me, my son is one lucky man." I gave her a small smile but looked away from her when the door to my room opened. We were currently at the hotel in Milan where I was getting married in two hours.

I saw a girl with long blonde hair come inside with a wide smile followed by a slightly older, moody brunette. "Ah Sophie, I don't believe you've met Thiago's sisters yet. This is Mia, my youngest." I stood up as the happy blonde came over to me wrapping her arms around me. "Its so nice to meet you! Sophie you're so beautiful." I smiled at her as she moved away and I mumbled a thank you. "This is Carlotta my oldest." My eyes moved to the brunette who made sure to keep her distance from me. "Hi, it's nice to meet you." She didn't respond to me, instead she just sent me a glare.

"Ignore her Sophie. Let's get started on your hair and make up, we don't have much time left." I glanced worriedly at Mia as she started pulling out random products from her bag which she brought in with her. Both of the girls were already ready, and they both looked absolutely stunning. You could instantly tell they were related to Thiago, he was just as good looking.

An hour later Mia had just finished my make up, I looked at myself in the mirror and gave her a smile. "I love it." She didn't over do it, she did just more than I would usually wear to a party or special occasion. It was light and neutral which was perfect. "I'll get started on your hair now."

Eventually Mia finished styling my hair, some of it was pinned up and other parts were in long loose curls. In the corner of the mirror I saw Paola talking to Carlotta with a frown on her face. They seemed to be having a heated conversation in Italian. Thiago had someone start teaching me Italian but it's only been a week so there's no way I could understand them yet. A couple of minutes later Carlotta stormed out of the room, just as two other people came in.

"Sophie?" I turned towards the person who spoke and my eyes widened, I stared in shock at my sister who was staring back at me. Tears filled her eyes as she watched me stand up. "Grace? You came.." She frowned and nodded as she came towards me, followed by Riley. "Of course we came, we wouldn't miss it for the world."

"Sophie don't cry!" I jumped at the volume of Mia's voice. "Stop it!" I laughed a little as she stared at my eyes making sure there were no tears. "I'm trying, calm down." She sighed and sat down. "I'll kill you if you cry." For some reason I didn't feel like she was joking.

"Mom said you guys probably wouldn't come." Riley frowned at my statement "Mom knew?"

"Of course she knew, how else did you two find out? I told her last week." Grace gave me a teasing smile. "Your Italian fiancé called me." My eyes widened as I stared at her, I did not expect him to do

that for me. "Thiago called you?" She nodded and Riley rolled his eyes. "What? You don't like him Riley?" He sighed and glanced over at Thiago's mom and sister who were smiling waiting for his response, they didn't seem angry just amused. "I don't know, I don't get why you just left with him randomly like that. But if you're happy Sophie then I don't care. I just want you to be happy." His eyes became red as he stared at me before pulling me in for a hug. "You look so beautiful." I had to blink away the tears that were threatening to come out and ruin my make up and probably have me killed by Mia, who was watching my face like a hawk. "Riley will you walk me down the aisle?" He nodded with a smile on his face. "Why do you think I came? That's one of the main reasons Thiago wanted us to come." I couldn't help but smile when Riley told me this, I didn't think Thiago actually paid any attention to what I was saying about the wedding but he did.,"I'm your maid of honour." I looked at Grace who had interrupted my conversation with Riley and was glaring at me, I nodded quickly so that she didn't get angry. "Of course you are." She smiled and nodded. "Good."

"How come dad didn't come?" They both went silent when I asked this. "We'll just give you some time alone Sophie. We'll be back in ten minutes to go downstairs to the hall." I nodded at Paola as the two of them left the room.

"Well?" Riley sighed and made his way over to the couch and motioned for the two of us to follow. I had sit on the opposite couch since I couldn't risk my dressing getting creased and because it took up a lot of space. "He's really not happy Sophie. He's so angry with you. He doesn't even want anyone mentioning your name anymore." I sighed as I listened to Grace telling me about my dad, he never used to be the type to be angry for a long time, he usually got over things pretty quickly.

"I know how I left was a bit of a shock but I'm 22, I wasn't going to be staying at home for much longer anyway." Maybe that was a bit of an exaggeration but I was annoyed at the way my father was acting. There was no need for it, I was old enough to leave home if I wanted to.

"How long are you staying?" I wanted to spend a bit more time with them after the wedding since I knew I wouldn't be seeing them for a long time after. "We're leaving tomorrow Sophie."

"You guys should come and visit me sometimes." Grace smiled and nodded although I could tell she was upset. "It's not the same without you at home Jords." I gave Riley a sad smile, if I wasn't about to get married in ten minutes I probably would have said a lot more to them, but I didn't want to cry.

"How's Italy?" I sighed and looked around the luxury Italian style hotel room as I spoke to them. "It's alright. Thiago works a lot so we hardly see each other, but I'm sure after the wedding it'll be different." It probably wouldn't be knowing Thiago but I told them that anyway. I didn't want to tell them what Thiago does as his 'job', firstly because Thiago would probably kill me and them too and also because I didn't want them to think I was in any danger. I feel a lot safer around Thiago than anyone else, which is kind of weird since he is the boss, but I do. "Grace! How was your date?" I had completely forgotten to ask her about that. She started smiling as a blush made its way onto her face. "Our little Grace isn't a single pringle anymore Sophie." I looked at Riley before looking at Grace for confirmation. My mouth fell open when she nodded and I stared at her before squealing like a teenage girl. "Grace I'm so happy for you! How did he ask you? How was the sex afterwards?" All of a sudden Riley started coughing causing Grace to pat him on the back. "That's disgusting Sophie." I laughed at this but looked at Grace for an answer anyway. She gave me a smirk. "It was amazing. He asked me while we were walking in the park in the evening, it was just the two of us and it was so cute." I smiled at Grace as she gushed about her new boyfriend while Riley just sat there with a disgusted look on his face, probably scarred for life from the use of his sisters name and sex in the same sentence.

Before we could say anything else Paola and Mia came back in the room, both of them looking stressed. "What's wrong?" They both stayed quiet as they rushed over to me. "Everything's fine, you just need to get your ass down to that hall. We're slightly behind schedule." Mia grabbed my hand and pulled me off the couch. "But I'm not ready yet." She sighed and looked me over one time. "You look beautiful. Now hurry up and go and marry my brother." I frowned at her and turned to Grace.

"Do I really look okay?" My sister smiled at me as tears once again formed in her eyes. "Sophie, you look absolutely perfect, I can't believe my beautiful little sister is getting married." Mia decided to interrupt the emotional moment Grace and I were having by hitting my sister on the arm. "Don't you dare make her cry, we've got this far, don't ruin it." Grace and Mia glared at each other before I interrupted them. "Grace will you look after my phone please?" She sent Mia one last glare before nodding in my direction and taking my phone from my hand. Riley and Grace walked towards the door followed by Mia and Paola. "Let's go." I took one last look in the mirror and picked up my bouquet of flowers before walking to the door."Don't let me trip over Riley." I gripped my brothers arm with all my strength to stop myself from shaking. I was nervous wreck, and to make matters worse, Riley and Grace were constantly bickering all the way down to the hall where Thiago and all the guests were.

"Grace, you're up in 3,2,1." The doors opened and the coordinator who we hired to keep everything running smoothly nodded at Grace to walk in first. She made her way down the aisle, I chose to watch her instead of looking at anyone else in the room. "Okay Sophie, go."

"You'll be okay Jords I promise." Riley whispered to me reassuringly and I nodded as I started walking with Riley by my side, something I was so grateful for. I wouldn't have been able to walk in on my own. We walked past all the guests, all eyes on us, I finally let myself look at Thiago who was standing next to Matteo, my eyes locked with his and he held my stare. Neither of us looked away as I walked closer and closer towards the handsome Italian who was soon to be my husband.

"I love you." I broke the stare to look at a red eyed Riley. I gave him a nervous smile and reached out to give him a hug after passing my flowers to Mia who was sitting on the front row. I felt another person wrap their arms around me and knew it was Grace, we stood together for a moment hugging like we used to do whenever one of us was sad. I knew the two of them were crying and I used all my strength to stop myself from going too. I finally pulled out of their tight hold and gave them a smile. "I'm only getting married, I'm not dying." I thought I whispered quietly to them but clearly not because I heard a few chuckles come from the guests.

I stepped towards Thiago and stood infront of him as he took my hands. The ceremony took a while, we both repeated after the priest and finally we both said 'I do', although I did take a moment to say it since I was still unsure about this whole thing.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride." My eyes widened a little as Thiago leaned closer to me, I completely forgot we would have to kiss. I held my breath as he got closer and closer to me, my eyes closed as I waited for the contact and soon I felt his warm lips make contact with the corner of my mouth. The guests applauded and cheered, meaning they didn't notice that Thiago didn't actually kiss me.

He took my hand which was still shaking slightly in his warm one and we made our way out of the hall together.
