Chapter 33: Chapter 33

1 month later
I put the final few dishes away in the kitchen cupboard when I heard Thiago shout to me.
"Sophie hurry up." I scoffed at Thiago who was leaning against the car outside waiting for me. I slipped on my flats before locking the front door and making my way over to him. "You usually take longer than I do, have some patience." He rolled his eyes and wrapped his arm around my shoulders pulling me into his chest.
"I'm so sorry. You look beautiful." I rolled my eyes at his sarcastic apology but kissed his cheek anyway with a smile. "I know." It was finally warmer in Milan so I got to start wearing my summery clothes again which I was excited about. I was bored of living in leggings and sweatshirts even though I didn't go anywhere. He chuckled at my response and I got in the back seat of the car to sit next to Leo who was fast asleep in his car seat.
We were taking him to a doctor so he could get all the shots he needed since he just turned two months old. The last month went by so quickly; every day was full of explosive nappies, we've had lots of sleepless nights together and all my clothes have been covered in puke at one point or another; but I wouldn't change it for the world. Leo was the most important thing in my life. It's crazy to think that one year ago I was waking up everyday hoping I wouldn't see Thiago again and now I'm married to him with his baby. It's crazy how fast things can change, but like I said I wouldn't change it for the world. If things hadn't happened how they did I wouldn't have Leo - a thought I couldn't even imagine, he's my entire world (along with Thiago even if he does act like a child 90% of the time.)
Nothing else interesting happened after Kaito and Antonia turned up at our house that day. Thiago said he hasn't spoken to Kaito yet and hasn't heard from Dante so he's just been getting on with business as usual. Leo and I don't go out unless it's absolutely necessary which only happened to be once when I was craving Krispy Kreme doughnuts. I didn't want to risk taking Leo out, not after the threats from Kaito. I only went out if I was with Thiago or Matteo but I made sure to take Leo in the garden at home though, to show him the outside world, not that he really understood much yet. It was nice to get some fresh air though after being stuck at home all the time with only baby talk or housework to entertain me. Whenever Leo was asleep I would use the time to get on with house work, nap or take a shower or something. It was very rare that I ever got to watch TV or even watch anything with Thiago when he came home. Not that he was home very often during the week, he went back to the routine of coming home late, he didn't leave as early anymore but only because Leo kept us both up during the night.
Let me just quickly get something out in the open to you guys...my sex life with Thiago is completely non existent. Nothing. Nada.
Yes we both tell each other we love each other and kiss here and there sometimes with a quick cuddle but other than that there's nothing. I don't think it's because of everything that happened with Antonia, I think it's just because of our life now. It took me a long time to physically recover after giving birth, I couldn't actually do anything with Thiago until about three weeks ago after the my doctor, and I quote, 'cleared me to carry on with what I want to do in order to be happy and satisfied'- that conversation was seriously awkward. However I still feel like my body isn't what it used to be before, there's so many differences which I'm sure if Thiago sees he'll probably be turned off permanently. My stomach has gone back to being basically flat like it used to be but my breasts are much larger, swollen and sensitive from
breastfeeding and, well let's just say that giving birth isn't kind on your girly parts either which I'm definitely not ready for Thiago to see.
But Thiago and I also just haven't had the energy or time to even consider it and honestly after spending the day changing diapers and washing puke stains out of my clothes, I wasn't in the mood to have sex with Thiago. It was just something neither of us really tried, or wanted, to do.Thiago put the radio on quietly and Try Me by The Weeknd came on. He groaned and tried to change the radio station but I stopped him. "Don't you dare." He kept his eyes the road while he complained to me. "But you're always playing it, haven't you had enough of it?" I shook my head at him and Thiago sighed in defeat causing a triumphant smile to appear on my face. He mumbled something to himself and drove a little faster like it would get him away from the song faster.
Eventually we pulled up and Thiago took Leo's car seat out of the car carrying him inside with me following behind. Thiago checked us in and we sat down in the waiting room for the doctor to call us. "Is it going to hurt him?" I glanced over at Thiago who was staring at Leo who looked so peaceful while he slept. It's funny, he gets to sleep while Thiago and I are trying our best to stay awake after the sleepless night we had last night. "Yeah, but he'll be okay. It's more important for him to get the shots rather than take any risks." Thiago just shook his head and sighed, he hated it when Leo cried or was in pain.
"He'll be fine Thiago." I leaned down and gently stroked Leo's chin and cheek to start waking him up, I pulled away his blanket which was tucked tightly underneath him so that it couldn't accidentally cover his face. It took a few minutes for him to start waking up and I kept smiling at him and talking to him softly so that he didn't start crying.
"Why do you have to wake him up? Just let him sleep." I rolled my eyes at Thiago and took Leo out of the car seat resting him in my arms. "He can't have the shots while he's asleep Thiago. Anyway the pain would just wake him up."
"He's only two months old and you're already waking him up." I chuckled quietly at Thiago and kissed Leo's forehead. Ever since Leo was born Thiago has had this idea that we should just let him do what he wants, he should be allowed to feed and sleep whenever he wants. At one point I had to wake him sometimes to feed and Thiago hated that, even though it was important since he slept for more than four hours and needed to feed.
"I'm the one who read all the parenting books Thiago, don't tell me what to do, you didn't want to listen when I tried to tell you about the things I read." He shook his head and leaned back in his chair. "That's because you're irritating."
"And you're not irritating?" He scoffed at my question. "At least I don't act like a know it all."
"Well I actually do have to know it all, I can't use your parenting technique and just learn as I go and do whatever feels right." Thiago glared at me just as the doctor called Leo's name over the speaker and told us what room to go to. I carried Leo while Thiago just carried the car seat walking ahead of me. "Stop throwing a tantrum."
"I'm not throwing a damn tantrum." I rolled my eyes at him and looked down at Leo. "Look baby, he's throwing a tantrum, make sure you don't do this for a long time, I can't deal with two Thiagos."
Thiago turned around to glare at me although I could tell he was amused by the last part. "You're too slow, hurry up."
"I'm carrying a baby here." He rolled his eyes and carried on walking, eventually we made it to the room and I followed Thiago inside. We took a seat and spoke to the doctor for a few minutes while he mainly just explained to Thiago why the shots were so important since he was really against Leo having them. He measured Leo's length and weighed him before placing him in my arms.
The doctor prepared all the different shots while I spoke to Leo trying to keep him calm even though he didn't really know what was going on at that moment. The doctor knelt infront of me and took Leo's leg. "Just hold him still, he's going to try to move away from me."
"This is fucking ridiculous." I glared over at Thiago while the doctor just smiled awkwardly. I kissed Leo's head one more time before she gently stuck the needle in his leg causing him to cry instantly. I did my best to hold him still in my arms and whisper soothing words to him while he just continued to cry. He quickly administered one more shot to Leo before cleaning the area and placing a small bandage on his leg, he did the same to Leo's other leg and placed a bandage on it too. Throughout the whole thing Thiago kept his eyes on the floor refusing to look up.
Once the doctor had finished I hugged Leo to my chest and walked around with him trying to get him to calm down. During this I asked a few questions about what to expect now and what medicine to give Leo if he has a fever or any side effects. Once he told me everything I needed to know, Thiago and I left, we silently made our way to the car.
It took a few minutes for us to get Leo in the car seat but eventually he cooperated and Thiago got in the drivers seat. "Shall we just go home?" I rubbed Leo's hand and shook my head at Thiago. "Let's go and get some food. I think he's going to fall asleep again."
Twenty minutes later we pulled up to a restaurant and Thiago carried Leo's car seat inside, we sat down at a table and put the car seat on a chair next to our table.
"Are you okay? You haven't said much."
"I'm fine Sophie." I nodded deciding not say anything to him since I knew he was still upset about seeing Leo in so much pain, instead I picked up the menu scanning over it. We chose our food and the waiter came over to us to take our orders when he left I decided to try again with Thiago. "How's work?" Thiago cracked a small smile at my use of the word 'work'. "It's fine. Just the usual things going on."
"Have you heard anything from Kaito?" He shook his head and leaned back in his seat. "Nope, which means he's probably happy with Dante. No ones heard from him since."
"What do you mean 'no one'?" He just shrugged in response to my question. "None of my men have been able to track him and when Matteo asked Antonia she wouldn't tell him." I nodded and sighed while glancing over at Leo. "I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing."
"Trust me it's a bad thing. You saw how they just turned up out of the blue, they're busy planning something. But don't worry Sophie, I am too." Thiago sent me a dark smirk and took a sip of his beer. "What do you mean?"
"I'm taking them down, every single one of them."
