Jaden smiled shyly at her mother's words as he took my hand into his palm, squeezing it gently.

"She made me fall in love with her, and I still can't understand how that was possible." He whispered, looking passionately at me like I was a piece of magic. His eyes were filled with emotion.

"That's how it works, son. Love comes like a thief in the night. That time you never expected it and with the girl you never thought of." Jaden's mother grinned, and we all couldn't hold back laughter.

"So it is all settled. Carl, it's time to return to the clinic and get well soon. You have a lot of errands to run for me. Remember, my wedding with her is coming up soon. You can't remain that way," Jaden deadpanned, brushing his hair gently while Carl let out a weak smile and nod.

The guards were called in, and they helped him out of the room.

"So we will also be leaving the new couples alone to do whatever they like. We shouldn't be too nosy around our son now that he's got a woman before we bump into them doing...." His mother's sense of humor really took me off guard, and I was already laughing hard, like one being tickled.

The way she contorted her face and made her eyes in a funny way while saying this really made everyone laugh, but mine was harder.

"Oh, yes, my wife. You are so right.... They will always be busy these days, and we shouldn't be wicked to disturb." The Alpha added as he took his Luna's hand while heading over to the door, after he had given us a mischievous wink that really flushed my cheeks red as I blushed more.

They left and closed the door, but Jaden had to rush over and lock it.

"I don't trust all these crazy people in this house." He snickered as he turned to me with a bright smile that enhanced his cuteness so well that I lost myself for a few seconds staring at him.

"You are really beautiful and perfect in my eyes. My wolf was the first to get wallowed in your beauty and everything about you, even when we both decided not to give any woman a chance in our life." He spoke out gently, sitting beside me on the bed.

"Hey, Jaden! Don't push it all on me! At the same time, I fell for her and you did too. I was just open-minded enough to say my feelings while you were denying the obvious!" I suddenly heard his wolf reply to him, and that made me shudder a bit as I stared back at him in surprise.

"I heard your wolf talking to you!" I gasped, smiling hard as I envied the relationship between them, which I never had.

"Yes, he made you hear him, so now he will expose my lies." Jaden laughed coyly and held my chin carefully, directing my eyes to his face.

"I don't know how to do all that romance stuff, but should I tell you what I want?" He cooed, and I nodded, blinking my already teary eyes. Each time I recalled that the man in front of me was the same person who almost every girl out there had tried their best to get his attention, I would feel like it was all a dream.

"I feel like being with you every moment of my life and not just that. I want to touch you till we smell together. Till my skin gets used to it, even when you are off my body, I will still feel you on me. Ava, you are like my life, to be very honest." He poured out with his husky and heartwarming voice, which really did well in hypnotizing me.

Every word he spoke was resonating in my head like a melody, and even my heart wasn't left out as it thumped faster. The adrenaline rush forces goosebumps all over my skin.

"You know how many alpha's daughter girls are out there who are dying to hear this from you. Alpha daughters from many packs had done everything possible to have you, but you really chose me, a slave." I mumbled and felt a little bit perturbed at calling myself a slave. It was like I shouldn't have said it.

Jaden's hand, which was on my chin, was detached, and it made me look up at him, only to see thick lines on his forehead as he frowned deeply.

His eyes scanned through my face and trailed their way to the side of my neck. He was the slave mark, and a deep growl escaped his throat.

"Who gave you that mark?" He asked, sternly. There was no smile on his face anymore, and the calmness in his voice was fading. He looked so serious that I was frightened a bit.

"Nana did. The Beta's daughter forced my father to make me her Slave." I responded by trying to hold his hand as I was getting scared of his sudden cold reaction, but to my slightest expectation, he stylishly drew his hands back, avoiding my touch.

"Why will they turn you into a slave when you are the Alpha's daughter!!" He suddenly bellowed, rising to his feet as both hands clenched beside him. I saw his eyes turning red in fury. He was angry, but at the same time, I felt his resentment towards me.

"I hate slaves from the bottom of my heart and they are the last group of people I want to ever see! Anyone else, but not slaves! That's why there is no slave in or around this house. I don't want to see any in my life!" He snarled and kicked the table in frustration and rage, forcing it to crash down.

My mouth was left agape as I stared in shock, trembling in fear.

"Nana knew something about me and that was why she did this to you after finding out I had feelings for you. She made you a slave because she already knew at the end, I couldn't accept a slave around me!!" Jaden added, his voice getting darker and deeper in what seemed to be a mixture of guilt and hatred.

He turned to the wall, avoiding my face totally.

"What did Nana know about you, and why the hell do you have such a strong dislike for slaves? They are living creatures too and don't deserve to be hated this much...they...."

"Shut up, please! Just cut the crap!" He yelled back at me, punching the wall as he used his other hand to brush his hair in frustration.

I was dumbfounded at what I just heard. He really told me to shut up.

"How could Nana know about my secret? How did she know about something that I had never told anyone about? Or is there someone else who already knew and then instructed her to do this to you, so I can't accept you as my mate?" He asked rhetorically, grunting as he finally turned back to me, leaning his back on the wall.

"Jaden, you are making me scared. You won't accept me as your mate?" I asked, my lips trembling as I placed my hand on the slave mark, cursing at my father silently for ever doing this to me. It must have been Nana's plan all along, but how does a mere Beta's daughter like her find out Jaden's secret? They barely know each other.

"Aurora did this...." Jaden suddenly snapped, roaring like a lion as his eyes blazed red.

"That woman, Aurora, had shown me evidence that she knew a lot about me when I visited your pack. She must also know my dark past and have told Nana to do this, so I will have to push you out of my side!" He sighed, tears welling up in his eyes as he glided down against the wall, crashing into a sitting position with guilt and sadness written all over his face.

I ran to him and sat close to him. His head was sagging down, so I held his chin and pulled it up. I was shocked to see him panting in fury while tears brimmed his eyes.

"Jaden, tell me what is wrong...I promise..."

"Please shut up...don't promise anything." He whispered sadly and drew my hand forward, allowing me to fall fully on his body, our lips close to each other

"I will find the root of all this. My heart wants to hate and reject you, but I won't allow that!" He cried out and plunged his lips into mine, drawing me into a deep kiss as our tears streamed down into our lips.

Something was really wrong.
