Chapter 66: Chapter 66

Chapter 65

Sofia Xanders ~

Ryan's control over the element of fire gives us the upper foot against the lycan guards. If we happen to encounter Cassius, I'll leave the commander and his skillful vampyre warriors to distract him long enough for us to get Alessia off his clutches. It's been sixteen years since I last got involved with Cassius. I know he must have gotten stronger and more heartless than before.

The flames burnt Ryan's body to ash and out of the ashes, Ryan was formed. With the same speed that the flames began regenerating Ryan, they parted till none was left. I meddled with the flames using my witch magic so Ryan could have some decent clothes one when he gets reborn.

"Perfect."

"I don't remember you being this tall." Commander Sam alleged.

"Finally. I'm big again. Thanks for the clothes Sof." Ryan said checking himself out. "Now that my powers are working fine, let's go rescue Alessia from that abomination."

"You can turn around now." Sam said to Gar and Charlie.

"Boys, you can open your eyes and turn around now. Ryan is back to normal." I added when Gar and Charlie hesistated.

"Wooaahh!! You weren't lieing about being immortal. Is it crazy that I want to try carry out a couple more tests? You know, Since Ryan is immortal afterall." Charlie said appalled at the sight of Ryan.

"Turns out magic is way more interesting than I thought." Gar complimented.

"Maybe later." "Sofia? Take us to the beast's castle. I'm not letting Alessia die but neither am I letting her daughter trade her life for hers. Elena is the greatest weapon and our best chance to defeat Cassius." Ryan said walking towards Sofia. "Do we still need to hold hands?"

"Not anymore. In the human world, Elena was the only source of radiant magic so we had to connect to her before we could take part in her magic in any way. Right now, we are surrounded by magic so that won't be necessary. Doing that now would just suck energy out of her body."

"Am I meant to feel this incredible rush of power in my veins? And the whispers in my head?" Gar asked holding head in a way that suggested he was feeling pain.

I dashed a coded look at Ryan and his eyes met mine at the same time. Was he thinking what I am thinking?

"Is this a side effect of humans coming here? Or is this just me?" he added. "Shut the hell up!" Gar shouted clutching his head and going down with his knees to the ground.

This could mean only one thing. I'll have to take some time to test Gar to confirm my suspicions.

"Gar, I need you to be strong because this might hurt." Ryan said as he took Sam's sword and headed towards Gar.

"What do you mean?"

"What you are going through aren't side effects Gar, they are... simply symptoms that you're well... Well bring a hand closer and with asingle nib I'll be able to tell exactly what's happening to you." Ryan suggested still advancing towards Gar.

"Okay??"

I expected Gar to show some sign of fear considering the fact that Ryan was about to stab him though his hand with a sword. Gar stretched his hand out in confidence. He must really trust Ryan deep anough to let him run him through by the hand.

"Wait! What exactly do you intend todo to me?" Gar asked with an arched brow.

"Stabbing you in the arm. Isn't that obvious? If my suspicions are right, it'll heal in less than five seconds to how it was and the pain would be extremely minimal compared to what an actual human would feel. And if I'm wrong, Sofia here can cast a healing spell to make it all better." Ryan answered and with a swift move, he stabbed Gar on his hand making sure to create a deep enough wound.

"Go ahead!" Gar agreed closing his eyes. "Do it."

I looked at Ryan and we concluded with both our looks that our suspicions were correct.

"Aren't you going to do it?" Gar asked still anticipating the pain that was to follow the wound with his eyes closed.

"You really didn't feel anything?" I asked Gar

"Am I supposed to feel something when you haven't nibbed me? Is..." Gar said opening his eyes to look at his hand.

I guess the sight Gar saw couldn't let him complete his statement, He found it hard to understand what his eyes were making him feel.

"How is this happening? I feel nothing but I see a wounded hand that refuses to bleed out like it should an right before my eyes, the wound is closing up." Gar took his hand closer to his eyes to have a better look but it still didn't make sense to him. "

"Did you always know Gar was a lycan?" Elena asked me such that I couldn't tell that I couldn't tell the message her facial expression was trying to pass was.

This must be the hand work of the goddess. She led me to Gar's mom all those years ago for a purpose. For this to happen. Somehow, Gar has active lycan blood in him so that means the human world isn't a safe place for him until he learns how to control himself.

"No. Not until now." "Gar, somehow, you didn't just turn into a lycan in the human world because you and Elena kissed like I thought. "Your true nature when exposed to magic is a lycan. That's the reason behind your shifting, the massive strenght, the rush of power, instataneous healing and the voice of the wolf in your head. Those ae abilities possesssed by a lycan. You have lycan blood coursing through your veins." I explained.

I can now decipher the look on Elena's face. She wasn't so surpirised to know that Gar, someone she had known since birth has been a lycan all along but why?

"Gar, we will deal with all this later. Right now, Alessia comes first. We've spent a lot of time already." Ryan said before shifting to his pheonix form. "Gar, I would advice you don't try to shift. At a time like this, if you do that, your inner lycan would take control and one thing we don't need right now is a rampaging lycan." "Sofia??"

"Sume nos ad curtem in medio castri lycani nunc..." I casted the translocation spell and in a split second we had left the feilds were the portal had taken us to and appeared in the courtyard of the lycan Royal Castle.

I casted a cloaking spell all around us to prevent anyone from seeing us.

"The plan I have in mind is simple. I, Sofia and Elena would go find Alessia. Samuel, what we need your vampyres to do is cause a distraction. Spotting vampyres in the castle is good enough to draw Cassius' attention and seeing that for the first time in a long while after himself, a human was brought into the supernatural world, Cassius would definitely interested." "Get Alessia while having Cassius off our backs and then we get back to her palace." Ryan announced with a bold tone.

I picked up a couple of stones from the ground and casted an enchantment over them.

"These stones will take you to Alessia's palace. When I give the signal, all you have to do is say my name and with all the strenght you can mustter, smash it against the ground." I said having over some of the enchanted stones to Gar, Sam and Elena.

"Cassius requested for me alone. Don't you think bringing you all against our agreement would anger him? Gar? If you say this Cassius guy is extremely dangerous, this isn't something we should be doing? I don't mind trading my life for my birth-mother."

"To hell with his anger? The only anger you should be worried about is mine. If he dares to do anything to hurt you, I'll tear him to pieces." Gar inner wolf said and he shifted.

Gar ran out of the concealing cloak and drew the attention of all the lycans in the castle to himself. He turned and saw that the cloaking spell had been reversed. Now everyone are able to see them all.

"You have your distraction. Now go!"
