Chapter 55: Chapter 55

Chapter 54

Garfield West ~

I ran the knife through every single lycan that stood in my way to the leader and watched as they all burnt to ash. There was no healing from that. In one leap, I got myself to the walkway where the leader was and I walked towards him with a tight grip on the knife.

The lycan transformed to his supernatural form and I fixed an aim at him and threw the knife with so much force that it was as fast as a bullet. To my surprise, he caught the knife by the handle just as the knife was about piercing his chest.

“I don’t know who you are or how you got here but one thing is clear about you. You don’t fight fair!” the leader said with a grin. “But that’s fine! Neither do I!”

He threw the knife back at me with even more force than I did, him. I made a quick reflexive turn making the knife fly right pass me and it burst through the bricks holding the wall of the warehouse. I turned and an unexpected welcoming blow met my face and another consecutively in my gut sending me backwards. I broke the iron rails of the walkway and fell to the ground without any balance.

“And stay down!”

I landed on the hard ground with a piece of the iron rail stabbing my leg. I saw the

lycan jump down from the walkway and land a few meters from where Elena was. Her mom was trying to wrap a torn piece of her witch costume over her bleeding wound. I stood up as fast as I could and quickly took the piece of iron rail from my leg.

The pain was excruciating but I did it all the same. I took the metal piece and threw it at the lycan aiming for his legs. At the same time, I ran with my newly discovered claws towards the lycan. If it happens that he dodges the rail, I’ll rip his organs out from the insides with my claws.

I am ready to do anything to make sure Elena stays safe and out of harm’s way.

The lycan picked up the car’s door that was wrecked out by another lycan and used it to deflect the metal piece hitting it with so much force and when I came to him extending my claws to his posterior, he used the door to bat me away upwards. I went up in the direction and came down with a loud and painful thud.

“I told you! Stay! Down! You’re not my mission. I won’t kill you so soon but if you push me to, I will and I’ll enjoy it.” The leader said to me before he turned back to Elena.

He walked slowly towards her with his claws elongated. The leader waved his hand over the air and I went a bit up in the air, stagnant in space. I couldn’t move an inch no matter how hard I tried or wanted to.

“Elena! Run!! Don’t touch her! Don’t you dare! Don’t touch my Elena you…” I kept yelling until the lycan was just about six paces away from Elena.

“Give me your hand.” Sofia said and Elena placed her hand in her mom’s. “I need you to trust in me and I need you to trust in yourself. Take charge of your emotions and make them your weapon.” She added and Elena used one hand to apply pressure on the wound as she kept nodding to Sofia’s words.

“Say the words, ‘Stop right now and here you’ll stay. Your will is mine so now obey. (latin)”

“What are you telling her now, Sofia? You and I both know that she’s not that powerful to be able to try to stop me from doing the unavoidable. Thanks to Cassius, her strange lycan friend can’t do anything to stop me either. Accept it! Cassius has already won!” the lycan said folding his arms as he stopped right in front of Elena and her mom.

“She’s weak! Just like her father was. That’s why he had to die and now, so will her!” The lycan said squatted to look at Elena.

“Don’t call me weak! Stop right now and here you’ll stay! Your will is mine so now obey!”

Elena began speaking in another language repeating the words her mom told her to. Her eyes started to glow in green.

“How is this possible? You shouldn’t be able to do any of this! Cassius didn’t tell me about you being able to practice magic say more of cast magical spells or anything of the sort.” The lycan said suddenly immobilized.

I fell to the ground and rushed to meet Elena who once again had done something out of the ordinary.

I’m so glad she did.

“This is your doing!” the lycan said eyes fixed on Sofia. “You just had to bring her into this world now, didn’t you? One way or the other, Cassius is getting her heart.”

“Red…I mean…Elena are you okay?” I said racing to her.

When I got to her, I helped her up and Elena to my chest in a hug.

“Your wound, it’s gone!”

I don’t know what but whatever Elena did, the lycan can’t attack her. The more interesting part is where her wound is healed out of the blue. Almost like it was never there before. To confirm my sight, I removed totally, the cloth that was holding the wound and I was right.

“I’m fine now! I just want this to be over! I can’t…” Cried Elena.

“Don’t worry! I’ll protect you! You’re mine and no one is going to hurt you. Not on my watch.” I said interrupting her as I broke the embrace.

“Thank you Gar.”

“What do we do about him?” I heard her say wiping a tear down. “Mom? What exactly did I do to him?”

“The lycan is yours to command now, for the next hour at least. Whatever you ask of him, he’ll tell and whatever you command, he’ll obey. He can’t hurt you no matter how much he wants to. The spell is very powerful. I had doubts that it’ll work in this work but thank the goddess that it did.” Sofia replied.

“And he really wants to!”

“What he said, was it true? About my father, was he…” Elena asked but was swiftly cut short by the lycan.

“It’s fucking true! She knows it is but well, I didn’t expect her to tell you. After all, she’s not your mother. At least not the one who gave birth to you.”

Those words struck me to the core but not as hard as they would’ve struck Elena.

“She’s what???” Elena asked the lycan with wide eyes.

“Not your mother.”

“You’re lying! You’re a liar! Mom, tell me he’s lying! Tell me that what he’s saying isn’t true. Tell me the truth!” “Are you really my mother?”
