Chapter 53: Chapter 53

Chapter 52

Red Adamson ~

“Singing basically has to so with an outburst of emotions- happiness, sadness, heartbreak, love and so when someone like you sings, you can mistakenly perform magic if the person lacks magical restraint and self-control.” “That explains why after you sang or while you were singing, your arm became so.”

“You had successfully broken the spell keeping your magic dormant.”

“Elena, before you came into this world, a powerful witch called Morgana casted a spell on you. The spell was to keep your abilities dormant for at least, two decades. Whatever has happened in the supernatural world, magic came here and your abilities must have surfaced trying to weaken the spell.”

That explains the whole stage transformation. All these while, I have had these powers within me but a spell kept them at bay. Thanks to Gar’s and Charlie’s persuading skills, I sang and broke the spell but right now, I don’t know if I should be happy or sad or angry that I did.

“That’s wow. Wait, so you’re not mad at me?” I asked with my face turned downwards.

“What do you think?”

“Not entirely. You did disobey me but look at what turned out, the prophecy is gradually fulfilling itself and the spell is broken just at the perfect time.” “I know that Gar also must’ve persuaded you into doing it too”

“Cassius is the greatest threat there is in the supernatural world. My husband, the vampyre king, Frederick Claw took him in as a friendly gesture into our home-world as they had been allies from two worlds for a very long time.”

“I don’t know what became of him thereafter but that demon is far beyond a human or a supernatural creature. He killed the lycan king and took his throne and now, every lycan in the supernatural world are controlled by him including those that are after us.” My mom said looking downwards too avoiding my gaze.

The more I hear about Cassius the more I don’t want to. How could he have gotten this evil?

“Wow! Something is obviously wrong here. It’s either this is all a bad dream or I’m going nuts” Charlie said. “All that your mom is saying can’t be true because for as long as I can remember, and I speak for everyone when I say that supernatural creatures have always been fiction and would remain nothing more.”

“There’s only one world and I’m pretty sure that’s the one I’m in so whatever your mom is saying, it has to be some sort of fib.” I heard Charlie say to me turning to the back seat

“And this is why you shouldn’t have dragged a human no matter how close you think you are to the person into this.” My mom said giving a light smack on her forehead with both her hands. “Thankfully, somehow, you have your powers in this world even though you shouldn’t be able to so with that, I can teach you a memory wiping spell to get…”

Not again with the memory wiping spell on Charlie. Memories are precious and even if his own are now entangled in this mess, I still want him to be a part of this or else I’ll end up having secrets and who knows what would happen to our friendship.

“No! I’m not doing some magical experiment on my best friend just because you say he is a human and I’m not.” I said with a bit of anger interrupting my mom. “I’m not and neither is anyone else.”

“Come to think of it, you can’t actually blame him for speaking the way that he did, can you? When I asked that you tell me the truth about everything, I wasn’t expecting any of this. It’s so hard to believe all that you have been saying but a huge part of me wouldn’t let me to accept it as the truth.”

“How on earth can you say that I’m a mutant lycan which by the way I have no idea what one is and a vampyre which sounds so evil and even a witch and expect me to believe all that at the first blow? Mom, there has to be a logical explanation why I’m like this and why those beasts are after me because….”

“I’m telling you the truth about yourself. It’s extremely hard for you right now, believe me I know but I need you to trust me when I say that very soon, everything will make complete sense. I promise!” my mom said.

“You know, you really shouldn’t make promises that you can’t keep Sofia. Cassius is having her no matter what. Too bad she can’t fight back. I would’ve loved to go a few rounds with her.” A voice said from the upper walkway of a platform raised in the warehouse.

I recognized that voice but I wasn’t one bit happy with who bore it. The lycans are here. Once again they have out smarted us and now, they are here. I can’t help but wonder how they got in without making any sort of noise. If they were to pass through the confirmed entrances or the exits that Gar and Charlie had barricaded, we would know.

They must have tracked us here. Why can’t they just let me be?

“Elena, get out of the car!” Gar said coming out with a crowbar in his left hand and a baseball bat in the other carrying both with ease.

He was quite muscular and brawny for an eighteen year old. I know he does some work-out but every time I see him, especially now that I feel bonded with him, I can’t help but stare at his beautiful Gar must’ve gotten those from the warehouse. The lycans came charging hungrily with spittle all over their mouths.

“On second thoughts, stay inside and try figure out a way to get us out of here.” “Magic or no magic, none of these monsters are having you.” He added sealing the doors of the car shut and walking with his weapons towards the charging lycans.

“Come on dudes! Trick or treat?”
