Chapter 26: Chapter 26

Mila stared at Abu impatiently, why is he not saying anything? Since he arrived he has been quiet and kept staring into space.

"Abu, you haven't said a word... What is wrong with my son" she inquired.

Abu twitched his lips slightly and stared at Mila. Hard.

"She was here" he finally said. Mila narrowed her eyes with a puzzled look. By she did he mean... "Sarafina?"

"Obviously, she cured your son even though it wasn't a thorough cure, there is still one thing that needs to be done"

"Sara? Sarafina cured my son" Mila asked. She was surprised, after her path in the death of the girl's mother death, Mila didn't think she would help Jamal again. But apparently she just did.

"Well, love is no respecter of choices, is it? She had to make a choice without thinking of your evil act.... And you must still know that this is not the end yet... He has not been cured fully"

"What else is to be done?" Mila pressed, almost forgetting about the memory loss. "And what will it affect?"

"His memory, it has affected his memory. And until the final thing has been done, he will remain that way... Do not force the memories out of him you would only be killing him slowly"

Mila stood, shocked. If she heard right, there was only one thing that needed to be done, she had to find Sarafina.

"Don't even think of it" Abu said, waving his index finger in the air.

"Think of what? Did I say that loud" Mila shuddered at her lame question, he is a diviner why wouldn't he know.

"Why can't I look for her, she needs to help Jamal" Mila asked instead.

Abu scoffed. "Pray tell me Milanie, your real motive behind wanting your son's cure.. Is it the fact that you really want him cured or the fact that you are not ready to admit your mistakes and tell Forbes the real curse of your son's curse.. You are one selfish woman Milanie and your selfishness is coming to stab you in the back"

Milanie cringed as Abu finished talking, there was no denying that he was right.

"Do not look for Sarafina, let her leave freely and keep her away from suffering or else you will be messing with the wrath of Ashra"

"Then.... Then..... What of Jamal?" Mila stammered.

Abu got up, prepared to leave. "He remains that way till every other thing is settled" he said and started walking towards the door.

"But Abu, wait.... That's not possible.... Jamal can't remain that way, what will o tell Princess Ditya if not Forbes?" Mila asked shakily, panick already gripping her.

Abu didn't turn back but he stopped. "Maybe it is high time the truth is revealed, you can't keep a lie for a thousand years Milanie, the truth has to be revealed" so saying he stamped his feet on the floor and vanished.

"Abu.... Abu wait" Mila called out, but he was long gone already. Did she have any choice? The truth had to be said or maybe another lie over this one. It isn't possible, another lie will only complicate things.

Only the truth will help now.

Only the truth.

"My Queen, the king is back" she heard one of her maid say from the door since she had instructed them not to come into the chamber.

Mila shuddered, reminding herself she had to say the truth or everything else will fall apart.

The truth.

Nothing but the truth.

_______________

JAMAL.

I don't remember falling and hitting my head, so why would I have memory loss? Or is this some sort of joke?

Why do I feel like something is missing. I pressed the button above my bed to call the maids in. They entered immediately looking shocked and scared when they got to my front.

There were two if them. What kind of person was I to them to make them this scared of me? Was I brutal? Why can't I remember?

"Prepare me a warm bath" I said to them.

"Yes my prince" they replied in unison and scurried away. I am surely missing something. Even the way I'm acting now seems so alien to me as if I have never been this way before.

I need to speak with Ammi or better still Appa. Minutes later they came back into the room. "It is done Prince" they said.

"Okay.... You may..." I paused. "Is my father in the throne room?" I asked.

The other one looked at her other friend, not completely hiding the shock on her face. Their unspoken conversation could not missed. They were wondering what happened to their Prince.

"He is in the throne room" she finally answered.

"Okay, you are dismissed" I said using my fingers to gesture for them to leave. They bowed and hastily walked out while I walked into the bathroom.

I slipped off my clothes and put into the trash can, even if I don't remember anything, I know I don't wear a cloth twice.

Typical me.

I entered into the bathtub, sinking myself into the warmness of the water, it felt refreshing.. I have net felt this way in a long time. I closed my eyes, allowing my body to savor the sweet warmth of the bath.

I was almost dozing off when I jerked awake, the water was already lukewarm. I can't believe I almost slept in a bathtub. Jamal are you okay? You can't blame anyway, the water was so warm I couldn't resist.

I got out of the tub and slipped on my flops, I then put on my prince regalia which has been placed on the dressing table before I came in.

I breathe in a sigh and walked out of the bathroom and out of my chambers. There were two guards at the front of my door. One of them looked awfully familiar.

"My prince" they said, bowing in courtesy.

"Come with me" I said to the familiar one, he followed me.

"My prince are you okay now?" He asked when we were out of earshot of the other maids and guard.

Does he mean me loosing my memory or what?. "What are you talking about?" I asked.

He stopped and looked around, he looked back at me. "Do you remember who I am?" He whispered.

I peered at him and then shook my head. "I don't think so, you kind of look familiar anyway"

He sighed. "I am Khan, your personal guard. I have been your personal guard since you turned thirteen"

"Oh.." I muttered, that's why he looked familiar.

"My Prince, we have to make sure people don't find out about what has happened to you... We can't risk it" he stated.

"Why?"

"Because... Your enemies are always at alert, they are only looking for the perfect moment to strike" he whispered.

"Do I know this enemies"

"I don't know, but I promise to help you regain your memory as fast as you can" he promised.

I smiled.

I think I like Khan. "Let's go to the throne room" I told him.

"The throne room?" He asked.

"Of course, I need to speak with my Appa"

"But.....you can't, I mean..."

"What? Why?"

"Actually...." He stopped.

I patted his back. "You don't seem to have a good reason why I can't see my father Khan, so let's move"

"Right, let's move" he replied shakily.

Why does it seem like there is something I should know about?

I shrugged it off and followed Khan.
