Chapter 25: Chapter 25

______

TEN HOURS EARLIER.

Sarafina could not sleep as she lay on her bed. She has done the right thing hasn't she? But who was she deceiving. She knows she is wrong. She should not let her plan of revenge get in her way of helping Jamal. She had to do something about it.

Sarafina looked at her sleeping roommates, they were sound asleep and they would not realize that she left. She sat upright and placed her palm facing upwards on her lap, she then closed her eyes and willed herself to be taken into Jamal's room.

She opened her eyes as she found herself on his room, he was laying peacefully as if he was only asleep and not that he was half dead. She moved to his bed and sat quietly on it as she stared at him.

Jamal, the only man she has come to love all her life, only that he could not be hers. Apart from being worlds apart she had to avenge her mother's death which means his own mother will be affected.

She did not want him to get to a point where he would have to choose between her and his mother. She is not that selfish.

There was only one way, cure him and wipe away his memory of her. It was the hardest decision but there was nothing else she could do.

She held his hands and closed her eyes, she then placed her lips on his and started chanting the reverse spell in her head, making sure she also distorted the little vision he has of her.

If he peharps remember his vision of her pulling him out of the tunnel, he would also see her pushing him back down.

Sarafina felt drained as she finished the rites, she exhaled deeply and stared at him.

'It is the only way' she told herself. 'It is the only way'

Or is it?

____________

PRESENTLY.

Mila stared at her son in shock. Did he just say he does not remember.... Fifteen years of his life!!

"You... Jamal you are.." She stammered.

Jamal looked at his hands again.

"How old did you say I am, Ammi?" He asked.

"Twenty Seven" Mila whispered, her mouth still wide open, ripples of shock still coursing through her, she could not take it in. No! She will not take it in.

She has to find Abu, she gently placed Jamal back on the bed.

"Are you hungry, should I get you something to eat?" She asked as she stood up. Jamal nodded.

"I will be back soon, just stay right there okay?" She told him and walked out.

She saw Khan standing outside Jamal's door and she stopped. Did he hear anything from the room. She looked at him and sighed. "Follow me" she said.

Khan was surprised at the Queen's sudden order, but he followed her nonetheless.

Mila made sure they were in a secluded place before she finally stopped.

She turned to him. "Khan...." She started.

"My Queen" Khan replied, bowing in courtesy.

"I am going to tell you something and I am going to have your head if it gets out of this place without my permission"

Khan was taken aback, what could the Queen have to say that would cost him his head? He didn't fidget, he stood his stance and nodded.

Mila sighed. "Jamal lost his memories".

Khan immediately clamped his hands over his mouth to avoid his scream. Prince Jamal lost his memories?

"How? Why?"

"He can only remember what happened to him till he was twelve, then till now he can't recall. How and why I don't know... You have to get Abu for me as fast as you can immediately" Mila replied.

Khan nodded frantically and started leaving hurriedly, his Prince cannot loose his memories or it will be the perfect time for his enemies to strike.

SARAFINA.

Laugh.

Laugh.

Laugh.

My subconscious kept chanting to me but I kept my cool, I don't want to blow my cover and have them know why I am here.

I pulled out the chair beside me and tapped it for Kayla to sit, a grin plastered to my face as I told her to sit not forgetting to add the 'stepmother' title to my statement.

The look of pure shock and horror on her face cannot be bought, I would pay a whooping thousand dirham to see that look again. Kayla walked silently to the chair and sat.

"It's been a while stepmother, you didn't even ask of me, even though my coming here was all because of you" I said with a wide smile as she sat.

"Sa... Sara... Sarafina" she stammered.

Oh dear, I really want to laugh. 'Get a grip, Sarafina.. Get a grip' I tell myself, I swallow and face Maximus.

"Wow, I was not aware you knew my stepmother"

Maximus looked from me to Kayla and then back to me.

"Ah, it is a coincidence isn't it a very weird coincidence"

I shook my head. "Coincidence does not exist... A Nana actually told me that everything happens for a reason.. It is Kismat—Fate.

" Fate? There is nothing like fate, everything happens as a result of our hands in it"

I smiled and peered straight into his eyes. "I think so too and when you finally realize that what you have done is wrong you decide to work like fate and clean up the unwanted specs... It is is still fate isn't it?"

He sat back, maybe realizing I had just indirectly spoke to him.. He tapped the food. "Let's eat up before the food gets cold shouldn't we?"

"Yeah we should, let's dig in" I stated in an overly dramatic way.

His eyes followed my movements for a while before he finally dug into his food.

I scoff inwardly. Foolish Bastard.

Does he think I will make whatever move I want to make right here.

He is surely mistaken. A grin spread on my lips as I stare at them all.

They will all meet their doom.

Soon.

Very soon.
