Chapter 290: Chapter 290: Karumi, princess of the spirits

"Kai, may I ask you something?" Kurami stopped Kai before entering the chambers of the Demon Lord.

"Sure."

"It’s my daughter. Please find her. She’s strong, but the demons did a number on her, and even if she’s being strengthened, she may be too weak to fight back."

Kai thought about it. It’s not that he didn’t want to help, but he just didn’t see why he needed to be the one to look for her. Still, since he was being nice, he decided not to decline her request.

"What does she look like?" He asked

"Like me. Exactly like me, but just younger, around your age, at least in human years. Same build and fur color, so you shouldn’t confuse her with any other spirit."

’Same build and everything? Does this mean she has mommy milkers like her mother? Count me in!’ Now Kai was excited to search for her.

"Don’t worry, Kurami, I’ll find your daughter in no time." Kai took off.

Kurami smiled, then put on her serious expression. She looked at the doors of the demon lord and pushed them open.

"Have you come to face me again?" A womanly voice asked. "That didn’t go so well last time."

"Things wont be the same this time." Kurami’s hands and feet morphed into claws, and her tails poofed up.

"Ahh, the spirit orbs. No wonder the spirits became so powerful. Well, it doesn’t matter. At the end of the day, an Ant is still an Ant even if you give it wings." The demon lord stood up and walked toward Kurami.

"With wings, an ant can annoy you more than it normally could."

She smirked. "And all you have to do is swat it away."

Kurami frowned. Then, the air stilled, and in an instant, the room was filled with spirit and demonic energy as the two of them attacked each other, their powers clashing, nearly destroying the room they were in.

"Do you feel that? Mother has come for me." Karumi smiled as she was locked in a cell. She was in bad shape. Her body wasn’t mutilated or anything, but it was clear that she wasn’t able to heal after the first battle when the demons attacked.

"You’ll be the first one she punishes when she finds me." Karumi added, talking to the person meant to watch her.

"This wouldn’t have happened if you had just become my wife!" The man looked inside the cell, a fox tail and ears on his body. His fur was black, and his eyes were black and purple. He had joined the side of the demons.

Rage filled Carlman as he grabbed the cell bars. "I fought for you, with you, and you still fail to see me as less than!"

She scoffed. "Like I told you before, Carlman, I am grateful for you helping me, but the moment you decided to join the demons after being captured made me lose all respect for you. I’m not interested in men weaker than me. I want strong children."

"And I can give that to you!"

"Ha! Please. I don’t want to carry around your demon spawn. Find another bitch who would be stupid enough to lie with you for that."

"You!" He blasted Karumi into the wall, causing her to puke up blood.

"Y-You think this power makes you strong?" Karumi coughed violently. "You’re just weak! A betrayer! You don’t deserve to be a part of our clan!"

"Ohh, no. Once the demon lord KILLS your mother, I will make you my wife, regardless of your opinion, and force you to have my children. Together, we will usher in a new age of spirits."

"Disgusting bastard."

"You can hate me all you want, it wont matter. All that matters is that you’re here and will be mine once the demon lord kills your mother. I’ll spare anyone who sides with us, but for the rest, they’ll have to die."

"Why?!" Karumi didn’t understand why more of their kind had to die. 70% of them had already been wiped out, and the rest were barely hanging on. "There are so few of us left, and you want to get rid of those who don’t side with you?! This is why I wont marry you, you’re a weakling and wouldn’t make a good king."

"I WILL BE A GREAT KING!" Carlman’s energy flared as his anger rose. The demonic spirit energy that he possessed seeped into the cell and burned Karumi’s skin, not physically, but spiritually.

"But don’t worry. It doesn’t matter what you think of me. You WILL be my mate, and you WILL bear my children and help me usher in a new era of spirits. I will claim the entire spirit world as my own and make us stronger than ever!"

"Dude, that sounds stupid as fuck."

"Huh?" Carlman turned around, seeing an unfamiliar face. He could tell that the person wasn’t a spirit and was a being from the material world.

"Ahh, so you’re one of the people who has the guts to attack this place. I can smell the stink on you. I never liked your kind, always using spirits for your own selfishness and-"

"Bitch I don’t give a fuck. Hey, sexy girl in the back, you’re Kurami’s daughter, right? If so, she sent me here to rescue you."

"Y-Yes! Yes, I am!"

"Karumi, right?"

"That’s me!"

"Sweet. Let me just open the cell for you."

"Are you mad?! Do you not see me right here?!" Carlman channeled his power into his fist and punched Kai with all his might. However, that was the worst thing he could have done.

Kai was already way stronger than Carlman by a lot, and that was before Kai updated his stats. Being as strong as he was now, Carlman practically punched an indestructible wall.

The result? His arm was obviously shattered.

"Arghhhhhhh!!!! My arm!! My fucking arm!! What did you do to my arm?"

"Really? Are you seri-" Kai turned to Karumi. "Is this guy serious? What did "I" do to his arm? I wasn’t even the one who punched myself."

"W-What is your body made of? Fucking metal?"

"No, you dumb fuck, I’m just stronger than you." Kai rolled his eyes and broke the cell bars and the chains that kept Karumi restrained.

"You think you can just-"

With a flick of his finger, Kai obliterated Carlman in one go. He wasn’t even interested in fighting the demon and just wanted to have a conversation with Karumi.
