Chapter 206: Chapter 206

Julian Hawthorne glanced at her and didn’t really touch the dishes, sticking to plain rice instead.

It took Paige Sterling a while to notice, "Why aren’t you eating any dishes? Didn’t Nanny Sutton’s cooking suit your taste?"

Thanks to Burt Chambers and Sonny Chambers, Julian’s compulsive cleanliness had improved a lot, and he could now eat at the same table with others without much issue.

Julian said, "I can’t pick up the dishes."

Julian, "I burned my foot."

Paige, "You burned your foot, what’s that got to do with your hands?"

Besides, your foot was just a bit red from the burn, isn’t it almost healed by now? Why so dramatic?

While feeling a bit annoyed inside, Paige knew what Mr. Hawthorne was up to and filled Julian’s bowl with dishes.

Only then did Julian start eating.

Yvette Hughes said, "Paige, seeing you and Julian getting along so well makes your dad and me feel at ease."

Then Yvette added, "Ever since you moved out, the house feels so empty and quiet."

Jared Sullivan sighed along with her, looking all forlorn.

Paige pondered Yvette’s words; she had moved out when she was fifteen, so hadn’t the house been always quiet? Did Yvette just realize?

Thinking it through, Paige felt there was more to Yvette’s words, surmising that Yvette wanted Skylar Hughes to come back.

If Skylar were a good girl, Paige wouldn’t mind having a sister at all.

As Yvette said, more people would make the house livelier.

But with Skylar’s nature, Paige would never let her return to the Sterling Family, fearing that Skylar might do something to Jared for the sake of family assets, and by then, regret would be too late.

Paige never underestimated a woman’s ambition and greed.

So she said nothing, and neither did Jared.

The atmosphere was a bit awkward, and Yvette stopped speaking, merely lowering her head.

On the way back, Paige asked Julian, "What do you think Aunt Hughes meant with her words just now?"

She thought it through carefully and felt Yvette didn’t simply want Skylar to come back, because from Yvette’s words and actions, she hadn’t let go of her daughter but didn’t seem to want her back either.

When Skylar came back, she’d always do things that put Yvette in a dilemma.

Yvette liked to escape the hardships of life; she found herself unable to manage Skylar or handle the troubles Skylar caused, so she’d just avoid it.

Julian glanced sideways at her, "Asking me?"

"Is there a third person here, Mr. Hawthorne?"

Julian said, "She wants to have a child."

Thinking about it, Yvette’s words could really mean that.

Julian then added, "Your father might want a child too."

Paige, "My dad clearly doesn’t."

If he wanted one, Jared had plenty of chances to have more when he was younger.

Julian, "I’m saying, he might want a grandson." ɪꜰ ʏᴏᴜ ᴡᴀɴᴛ ᴛᴏ ʀᴇᴀᴅ ᴍᴏʀᴇ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs, ᴘʟᴇᴀsᴇ ᴠɪsɪᴛ 𝕟𝕠𝕧𝕖𝕝⚫𝕗𝕚𝕣𝕖⚫𝕟𝕖𝕥

He recalled Paige once saying she’d marry someone and have a kid to let Jared have a grandchild sooner.

Now the marriage has happened, but there isn’t a child yet.

Though they didn’t specifically use birth control, and their health was fine, fate just hadn’t arrived yet, so Paige hadn’t become pregnant.

Paige remained silent, and Julian felt her belly, "Why hasn’t it happened yet?"

Paige, "If it hasn’t, it’s probably the man’s problem."

"I... have a problem?"

He suddenly stopped the car, looking at Paige, "Mrs. Hawthorne, let’s discuss. What problem do you think I have?"

Paige forced a laugh, "..."

Julian woke up in the morning to an angry Paige kicking him.

Her kick was heavy, leaving a massive bruise on Julian’s lower back.

By the time he got to the office, he couldn’t help but rub his lower back after sitting for long periods.

Simon Hawthorne noticed him rubbing his back multiple times and became worried.

"Hey, big brother, is your back okay?"

He actually wanted to ask if his brother’s kidney was still alright.

But fearing that topic would hurt his brother’s pride, he didn’t dare voice it out.

Julian gave Simon a cold stare.

Simon continued to probe, "Big brother, are you and sister-in-law having trouble with your... you know, intimacy lately?"

Big brother’s anger surely confirmed it.

Besides a problem with the man, there wasn’t any other reason for troubles in intimacy.

Simon suspiciously glanced downward at Julian.

Back at the Hawthorne Family home, he sighed heavily in front of Old Master Hawthorne and eventually couldn’t hold back, telling him about it.

Old Master Hawthorne took it seriously too.

If Julian really had an issue, wouldn’t that affect him having grandchildren?

No, no, he had to figure something out!

Old Master Hawthorne, worried about his grandson’s happiness, went online to ask how to discreetly treat male issues without getting noticed.

Because he feared it would tarnish his grandson’s reputation.

The unanimous online suggestion was medication.

Many even recommended professional doctors in the comments, with one user particularly praising an old traditional medicine practitioner.

Old Master Hawthorne believed it and went to find that old practitioner, explaining his situation.

The old practitioner misunderstood, giving him a knowing look.

"Don’t worry, I get it all. Though one’s age might be advancing, my medicine can surely rejuvenate you."

"That’s good, that’s good."

The medicine given was pitch black and very pricey.

Old Master Hawthorne bought one dose first to see if it worked for his grandson.

If it worked, he’d buy more; if not, he’d think of another solution.

Old Master Hawthorne had Simon take the medicine to Julian, instructing him to take one pill a day.

When Simon went to Silverstream Bay, both Julian and Paige were not at home.

Simon left the medicine and left.

Upon returning home, Paige and Julian found Sonny Chambers writhing in pain on the carpet.

Paige asked the robot, "What’s wrong with him?"

The robot pointed to the medicine on the table, "Brought by Simon, containing..., intended to..."

Paige and Julian both turned green-faced.

Julian remembered the look Simon gave him the previous day.

Paige recalled Simon’s impotence issue; it was fine for him to take that kind of medicine, but bringing it for Julian?

They rushed Sonny to the hospital, and Julian immediately called Simon over.

Simon felt wronged, "Big brother, it wasn’t me; it was grandpa who bought them and asked me to bring them over!"

Julian gave Simon a piercing look, "Why would grandpa buy this kind of medicine?"

Simon awkwardly rubbed his nose, "Big brother, I didn’t mean to spread your hidden ailment. Telling grandpa wouldn’t make him blab, right? He bought the medicine for your good. You should try it first to see if it works. If not, grandpa will think of another way..."

Ridiculously thinking of another way!
