Chapter 45: Chapter 45

The sky is almost dark, only the shades of orange and pink can be seen. The moon is out already. Vienna and I got back to the castle walking side by side. We would not want to be late for dinner. The Queen is strict when it comes to dinner and no one wants to anger the Queen of Syrr.

The huge double doors to the dining hall busted open as soon as the servant saw us. The long table is a feast as usual. The King is also present tonight. Cassius tapped the seat next to him and smiled at me.

Vienna walked to the seat next to Rose while I sat next to Cassius. After a while we started eating in silence. I guess I can say that I’m used to it, the awkward silence in the room while we eat. I figured they just eat that way. Cassius told me it’s a sign of disrespect if we eat while talking.

A few minutes later, everyone has finished their goblets. The Queen gracefully wiped her lips to the side, gently damping the clean piece of cloth against her fair skin. Rosamund used her finger to wipe the stain from the corner of her lips and then sucked the blood off of her finger.

I gave her a look and she pressed her lips, fetching the table cloth from her lap to wipe her lips again.

“Rosamund’s birthday is in two weeks, so we must prepare for a grand party.” Queen Vittoria said in a calm tone even when all of us could see the spark of excitement in her beautiful emerald orbs.

Vienna clasped her hands together, “We must certainly do. I will help with the food and wine. Also, the invitations! We can’t forget about that. Feyre can accompany Rosamund for new clothes. Mother, you can handle the decorations.”

“I would love to do the decorations! I’ll discuss the plan with Sara later.” The Queen smiled widely. Sara is the Queen’s personal servant.

The King pressed his lips, “When will Damon come home? He must be home before the party.”

Cassius answered, “He will be back in four days, Father.”

King Sargon nodded firmly. He then looked at his granddaughter with his cold gray eyes. For a moment, I saw a hint of love and happiness in those orbs.

“Now, let’s set aside the preparation.” The King raised his hand and gestured to Rosamund.

“I wish to hear my little angel play her harp,” King Sargon smiled at Rose. It was my first time to see the King show affection. He always looked so cold and austere.

The Queen smiled, “Rosamund, sweetheart, will you play for us?”

It was as if Rosamund was used to this. She only smiled and nodded her head. She stood up to get her harp. Her flowy dress moved elegantly with her fiery hair. Even when the huge harp looked pretty heavy, she managed to walk with ease with it.

Rosamund sat on a small stool and started strumming with her delicate fingers. Both the King and the Queen enjoyed the slow rhythm, with their gaze fixated solely on their granddaughter. It was a beautiful sight to see that my heart felt so full. The night ended with Rose’s last strum and our applause filled the room.

Cassius and I went back to our chamber after dinner. As soon as we got inside, Cassius pushed my back against the door.

I let out a gasp, “Cassius,” I warned

“How’s your day, love?” He asked, caressing my waist. His lips pressed against my ear as he whispers.

“It was fun. Alister missed me.” I can feel him smile on my cheek.

“That’s nice, you learned horseback riding?” He kissed my cheek, down to my jaw. I was breathing heavily with every contact of his lips against my skin.

I gasped when his fangs grazed my shoulder, “Yes,” I responded, trying so hard not to moan. I didn’t like seeing satisfaction on his lips whenever that happens.

“You feel hot. Are you okay, love?” He teased, sucking onto my collarbone. The sound of his wet lips against my skin left me turned on. He really likes playing with me, huh?

“I do feel hot. What are you going to do about that?” I swung my leg around his waist. I pushed him lightly to stare at his eyes.

My palm rubbed against his chest, down to his torso. Once it reached below his belt, he instantly grabbed my hand and pinned it against the door behind me. He looked at me with his darkened emeralds now burning with lust.

I smirked and started rubbing myself against his hardness. I moaned to myself and before I knew it, his damped lips crashed onto mine hungrily. I kissed him back and started unbuttoning his shirt.

“Damn it, Feyre!” He cursed before carrying me to the bed.

He removed his shirt and unbuckled his belt. I smiled, gazing at his exposed torso. I raised my toe and traced his abs playfully.

“Your tease backfired, love.” I said huskily, copying his usual tone.

“Remind me not to tease my wife again,” He breathes heavily, looking at me intently with a blank expression as he removes the remaining piece of clothing he has. Damn, he looks so dashing right now.

“Are we not sleeping again?” I smiled innocently.

He smirked as his body went on top of mine. “I’m afraid not,” He whispered on my neck. I giggled when his calloused palm traveled inside my dress towards my thighs. His other hand held my jaw and kissed me aggressively.

“Cassius,” I breathed heavily when I felt him moving.

He groaned against my chest as he thrust. I gripped onto his arms helplessly as I bit my lips to prevent myself from making any noises. Cassius eyed me intently and smiled.

Cassius caressed my lips with his thumb, “Don’t hold back your moan,”

I looked at him, “I want to hear you,” He leaned in to kiss my lips.

My lips parted, gasping. “Cassius,” I moaned at the sudden fast pace.

We were panting heavily with sweats all over our bodies. After a while, Cassius lay beside me and breathed on my neck.

“Are we done?” I asked, tucking the wet strands away from his face.

“Yes, we are. Rest now.” He smiled, kissing my forehead gently.

I looked at him for a moment. He hit my forehead lightly with his finger when he caught me staring. I saw his ears turning red. This man really gets conscious when I keep staring. It’s the most adorable thing.

“Ouch!” I rubbed my forehead, glaring at him.

“Rest, Feyre.” He closed his eyes, his arms wrapped tightly around me.

I grinned to myself before scooting closer to him.

It was early in the morning and the sun hadn't even risen yet. The room was still dark when I got up from my sleep. I was covered by bullets of sweat. I was panting heavily and my skin was burning up.

“Izaac,” I suddenly blurted out.

I had a vision, it felt like a dream but I know it is real. He was screaming in agony while his whole body was on fire. I felt his pain as if I was in his situation. I can still feel the aching burns all over my body. It was utterly painful.

A tear escaped my eye, “I didn’t kill him after all.”

Even if I hated his guts, I would never do that to him. I would never kill him and Ambrose knew that. That’s why he made him stay in my room that night. It was all in his brilliant plan. They killed him, not me.

I saw everything in my head and I was right. They made me kill Izaac, their friend. Ambrose planned it all, including Gideon and Daniel. Izaac died and it was all part of his plan to conquer the throne. Fucking greedy bastard!

My jaw clenched, “I will kill them all.” I said with balled fists. I will kill them all for making me look like a fool. I was actually worried to think I killed Izaac. They played with me and they must have laughed so hard behind my back thinking I was stupid.

And for that, I will never forgive them.

“Feyre,” I heard Cassius shifted on the sheets.

He looked at me, “What happened? Are you alright?”

I didn’t look at him. I was staring into nowhere. I just feel so angry, my nails dug so deep on my palm I think they’re bleeding.

“Cassius,” I spoke softly.

“What? Do you need anything?” He asked in a gentle tone.

I turned to him, “Where are they?”

His gaze changed and it darkened, “They’re already taken care of,”

“Are they dead? Did you kill them?” My gaze never left his emerald eyes.

He fell silent and that confirmed what Rose told me. They’re still alive and they are locked up in the dungeon.

“I want to see them,” I stared at the wall blankly.

His hand fell on top of mine, “Feyre,”

“Cassius, I’m not asking.” I looked at him intently.

He seemed to be taken aback when my gaze met him. I would not want to know how I look right now because all that matters is how I will end their lives. Starting off with the one I thought was my friend among the rest of them. What a traitor, Gideon.

I smiled to myself. I actually thought we had a real connection. I thought he was a bright person, he usually smiles a lot. However, I’m afraid he deceived me with his innocent expressions.

“They’re down in the dungeon. What do you want me to do?” Cassius asked, staring at me intently.

I looked at him with a grin, “Nothing much. Accompany me to the dungeon and make sure the castle will not be caught in fire while I do my thing.”

With gritted teeth, I stood up and walked towards the bathroom to freshen up. I need to look presentable, of course.
