Chapter 11: Chapter 11

Well, maybe he’s just not interested in me that he didn’t ask for my name. Shaking the ridiculous thought, my eyes met Gideon’s bright blue ones.

“Are you really fine? Where have you been? I was looking for you.” We’re currently sitting here in the living room. Everyone’s looking at me like I’m some prey ready to be pounced at any moment. Heather and Izaac were also here, including Ambrose with his usual stoic face.

I remain silent, unsure of what I’ll say.

“You just disappeared after our session.” Gideon frowned.

My lips parted, “I just went out for some air.” I looked at Daniel who was staring at me with hawk-like eyes.

Heather has dark brown eyes and a heart shaped face but it sucks that she doesn’t smile often because she looks really pretty. I think she’s probably older than me.

“You should rest.” Ambrose suggested

Gideon agreed and that quickly ended the discussion. Everyone left the living room and Gideon and I were the only one left.

“Are you hungry? Sage isn’t here but I can cook you something.” He said

I didn’t have the appetite to eat so I quickly shook my head, “I’m not really hungry. Thank you.” I excused myself to go back to my room. Gideon followed behind me.

But before I closed my door, Gideon asked. “Did I fall asleep during our session? Everything’s just blurry.” He explained

I bit the inside of my cheeks, “You fainted.” I’m such a liar.

His eyes widened, “Oh god, now that’s embarrassing.”

Gideon laughed nervously, “What? Don’t be.” I chuckled.

He scratched the back of his head, “Good night, Feyre.” He said with a boyish grin.

I said my goodnight before closing the door. With my back leaning on the back door, I sigh heavily before walking towards the soft sheets of my bed.

“Rest, please?” He stood across from me, in front of the bedroom door.

“I’m fine, Gideon. Really!” I put my hands on his shoulders and shake him a bit.

Gideon insisted on me to stay in my room and rest all day which by the sound of it seemed to be boring as hell. I wanted to get out and clean the garden instead but Gideon is more stubborn than I could’ve imagined. He won’t let me out because of the disappearing incident last night.

After reading almost all the books I kept in here, I had nothing else to do in this castle aside from cleaning, or gardening. I am seriously running out of hobbies here! I’ve tried sewing and even tried to learn how to play a few of the instruments on the music hall but nothing worked for me apparently.

“She’s fine, Gid. Let her out.” Daniel slapped Gideon on the back. Gideon let out a grunt before smacking Daniel on his stomach. The latter held his stomach and mumbled a string of curses before leaving us.

I tugged Gideon’s shirt, “I just want to go to the garden.” I chewed on the inside of my cheek, hoping he’d say yes or else I’m going to smack him like how he just smacked Daniel. Hm, if he still refuses I might just climb down the castle walls from the window. Yes, that’s a brilliant idea for me.

Gideon sighed, “Alright. Just don’t tire yourself.”

Smiling widely, I jumped at Gideon and hugged him. I quickly pulled myself when I saw Izaac walking past the hallway. Dark green eyes were staring at me like I committed some kind of a crime. It’s uncomfortable.

I peeked out my door and saw no one in the hallway. Izaac was gone. The coast is clear! So I hurried and pulled Gideon with me.

“Let’s go.” I whispered. We walked side by side towards the endless hallway.

“Why are we whispering?” Gideon lowered his head until it met my height.

“No reason.”

We turned to the left, “Uh, so where’s Heather?” I mumble in a low tone.

Gideon turned to his normal tone of voice as well, “Oh, she left last night.”

There was silence after that.

“Sage cooked breakfast. You should eat first.”

“Okay,” I replied shortly

Then we reached the kitchen. They rarely use the dining hall because it’s too big and no one really eats human food here so yeah. I guess they go in the basement to drink blood from blood bags which can be found in the fridge. Ambrose said they drink blood only from animals like boars and they keep the bags in the lowest part of the fridge.

Gideon tapped me, “Ambrose and I have to go somewhere. I’ll see you later!” He smiled before waving goodbye.

I turned to Sage who was preparing the table for breakfast.

“Morning, Feyre!” Sage greeted with enthusiasm.

This guy really! He never runs out of energy. It’s early in the morning and can I call myself lucky because I get to see five gorgeous men in this castle everyday? Yes, I guess I’m lucky.

“Morning, Sage.” I grin, sitting across him.

“You slept alright?”

I nodded, pouring myself a glass of water.

My mouth watered seeing the pancakes with chocolate and banana on them. There’s also bacon, eggs and fried rice. Yum! This is the routine every morning, Sage and I get to eat while the others do their own businesses. There are times that I eat alone because Sage isn’t present.

Everyone here just has their own daily activities while I’m stuck here doing anything just to keep me from being bored. If I could just sleep all day, I probably would but I can’t sleep. These past few days I have had trouble sleeping. I’m afraid that the redhead lady will come visit me in my dreams again. I just wish I could recover my memories so I can leave this place; I can’t stay being such a burden to these people.

As I planned, I finished eating my breakfast and started cleaning the garden; I’m picking dried leaves and trimming the dead grass. I removed the dead bushes and replaced the soil. I’m glad we have seeds and other gardening tools in the basement.

Upon walking down the stairs of the basement, I heard noises. There’s this sound of metal chains and groans. I took another step until my heels reached the wet, smelly pool of water on the ground.

“Daniel?” His back is facing me but I know it’s him.

He stood frozen before turning his body to my direction. It was dark in here and I barely saw his expression. I can only see a shadow and his body movements.

His eyes darkened, “What are you doing here? You’re not supposed to be here.” He growled, wiping his mouth with the back of his palm.
