Chapter 37: Chapter 37

2 years later ...

I’m going to the cemetery. I went straight here after landing the plane my family and I boarded. I just sent Mom and Dad, even Adrian to the hotel where we were staying.

Lily insisted on coming but Seth himself stopped his sister.

I went to the museleo of the Fernandezes. I have flowers. To this day I still can’t accept what happened. What I went through when I last came here to the Philippines is still fresh in my brain. I also spent a few months waking up crying because of nightmares of the past.

I went through several psychiatrists but not even one helped me heal. I had to take some medicine to be okay but all of that didn’t help.

But as they say, time heals all wounds so I let myself heal with the help of my family. I never stopped working. Despite what I went through I continued the line of work.

And here I am now, steadfast even though occasionally hurt by what happened. But it’s human nature, right? We need to be hurt to prove that we are alive. Pain is a part of our life and it will not go away unless we die.

All that matters is how we resist, and how we rise despite our stumbling blocks.

I was close to the museleo when the strong wind blew. I straightened my hair and pinned it to the side of my ear.

I entered the museleo and came across a tomb that was there. I touched the marble tomb.

“Thank you for everything you did for me ...” I said.

I looked back with a crack. I smiled when I saw two people familiar to me. They were with a woman who was not much older than me.

“I’m glad you came to visit him.” Tranz said to me. He came over to me and kissed my cheek. He looked at my stomach and smiled. “How many months has that been?”

“It’s only 4 months. How did you know that I’m here? ”

“Your overprotective husband told us.” She held the woman’s hand. She’s also pregnant like me. “Mina, I want you to meet my wife, Jessica ...”

“Nice meeting you. Tranz was right. You’re beautiful. He always tells us about you, ”I said and held out my hand to her. She was ashamed to accept it.

I glanced at Daddy Yvo’s grave, and the pain in my heart drew again. But I have to be okay because I know that Tito is in good condition now. He won’t have any more difficulties.

“Come here, Avery. Let’s get in the car first, ”Jessica said to Tranz’s child. The two women left us.

“I always miss Daddy,” he promised. “I hate the people who killed him, but what can I do? They are also gone. I just think that where Daddy is, he will no longer suffer because of his illness ... ”

“Me too, Tranz. Not a day goes by that I think of Daddy Yvo. You know how he accepted me. I feel guilty when I think I didn’t even take care of him. ”

“It’s not your fault, Mina. It’s my fault because I sent you away. But let’s just forget the past, especially you, because it might be bad for you and your baby. We have to move on. And at least, what happened to us has become clear ... ”

I nodded in agreement.

I looked at him and smiled.

“Why are you like that when you look?” he asked me.

“Up until now, when I think of you rushing to the place where Lele took me bulletproof, I still laugh. I don’t know if you’re smart and wise or maybe you’re just a bad weed. ”

Gradually his eyes widened and we laughed at the same time.

Yes, that’s exactly what happened. Despite my situation that night I ran to Tranz out of concern for him. And when I came to him, he was lying on the ground. But he said he’s okay and showed me the bulletproof vest he was wearing. It was good that Tita Mercedes shot him in the body.

Aunt Mercedes was killed that night. And her husband was imprisoned for his crimes against the law.

We stayed a few more hours in the cemetery before going home. They first took me to the hotel where my husband Seth was waiting.
