Chapter 35: Chapter 35

I laughed at what he said.

“Wife, eh, you haven’t proposed yet, eh?” I bit my lip so hard that I refrained from smiling. “What is it? Why are you like that?”

“Why do you seem to be thrilled?”

I covered my mouth and briefly turned the cell phone over so he could not see my reaction.

You’re a hopeless case, Mina ...

I giggle because of my silliness. After the embarrassing thing I did, I just fixed my cell phone.

“Tse! How long have you been in that hospital?” I just changed the subject so that he wouldn’t tease me anymore.

Here we are and we are no longer teen-agers but if we can work hard it will be like this.

“Another month. And when I finish my work here, I will go straight to the Philippines to see you.”

“Really?”

“Of course. And one more thing, Tricia will only be three days ahead for me. Have you talked to them?”

“Yes, I always talk to Adrian. I really miss him.”

“That’s why I wanted you to stay to take good care of him. You don’t have to accept the project there, eh.”

I nodded. He was right, eh. There are larger projects lined up overseas for me. But because I wanted revenge, I chose to take Lele’s job and come here rather than stay abroad and be with my loved ones.

But I have already changed my mind.

I also really want a quiet world and tranquility. I want to be with this man I am talking to. Seth saved me and gave me back my life. He did everything for me to be okay. But after I was being okay and stood up on my own feet, I rushed into this life again because of my revenge.

And now that I have decided what I should do and what is right, all I have to do is wait. Waiting for Seth’s step for the two of us.

“Seth?”

“Why?”

“I want to talk to Tranz ...” Even if there’s no us, Seth has the right to know what I’m going to do so that he won’t be surprised when there’s news about me.

“Do you still love him?” His voice cracked so I was hurt for him.

“Seth ... I just—I just want to talk to him. I just need to talk to him so we can have closure. That’s all and nothing else. I’m not going to talk to him to get him back—” I stopped speaking because someone called him.

He nodded at the person he was talking to before facing me. “I have to go, Ups. It’s an emergency. Take care, I love you.”

I couldn’t answer because he had already cut off the call. This is what he always does when we talk online and he tells me I love you. He stopped the calls immediately as if he was afraid of my answer.

The days passed quickly. Now I have been here in the Philippines for a month. My plan to give up the project did not happen because the contract had already been signed. And another thing is that the producer and director really don’t like Lele because she has an attitude.

So far I haven’t heard any news from Lele, especially from Tranz. I just don’t care about them because it is even more favorable and my life is at peace.

Now it is Sunday so I have more time to rest, especially since I don’t have a shoot. Lily wasn’t here so I don’t have someone to talk to. Actually she was not here yesterday, and when I called her, she didn’t answer either.

So did Seth and Tricia. These two I haven’t spoken to in a week. I also can’t contact their number.

I lazily picked up my cell phone when it rang. Director Emma calls and sends me to the Shangri-la hotel at six o’clock in the evening. She didn’t tell me the reason and all the details. All he says is for me to go there. And since I have no choice but to go, I will go.

It was four o’clock in the afternoon when I decided to get myself dressed. But I was about to enter CR when my cell phone rang. I rushed towards the gadget because I thought it was Seth but it’s not him. It was from an unknown caller.

I answered the phone call thinking it was one of my coworkers but ...

“M-Mina?”

My eyebrows met immediately. It was Lele, and in the tone of her voice she was crying. I did not speak. I don’t know what drama she’s plotting again.

“M-Mina, h-help me. Help my daughter.”

Because of what she said I stood up straight. Yes, I am angry with her, but I’m not like them. I’m not that kind of person who includes the child with their nonsense.

“I-I need your h-help. It’s Avery, Tranz hurt her!”

“Where are you now? I’m going to-“

“Ouch!” She shouted on the other line so I was more worried about her condition.

I quickly grabbed my purse and hurried out while my phone’s still on.

“Where are you? Where is Avery—? ” I was shocked to hear the voice of a crying child.

Damn you, TRANZ! You still haven’t changed, because you still hurt someone, even your child !

I was heartbroken because I heard Avery crying.

“Where are you, Lele?” I asked and started the car.

“We are at home, Mina. To my mother’s house ... ”

“I’m coming.” I cut off the call and threw the cell phone. I’m pulling the car over. I was more worried about Avery than Lele.

I knew Lele’s house because I used to come there. Their neighborhood is far away so Tranz can probably really do what he wants.

I overtook all the cars until I reached the opposite side of Lele’s house. The house was dark so I was more worried about the condition of the two.

I parked the car opposite the gate and without hesitation entered the house.

“Lele ?!” I called so that she would know that I was already here. No one answered. Even a slight crack, I could hear nothing. Even Avery’s crying earlier while on the cell phone I can no longer hear.

I was about to go upstairs when I heard a sound behind me. Before I could face it, a hard object hit my head causing me to lose consciousness.
