Chapter 115: Chapter 115

Claire's POV

The next day was the wedding day and Jordan and Jennifer were busy since morning. Their friends had arrived and the whole place was too crowded to my liking but it wasn't my event so I wasn't complaining. Even Jason looked a little annoyed when Jennifer's friends tried to hit upon him. I wore a light quartz jersey gown with a twisted knot empire waist and a matching hair accessory to fix my hair away from my face and cascade down my shoulders. I walked down to the rose garden with Jennifer's cousins and siblings who were much better than her friends. With Jason and my brothers busy with Jordan, I was actually feeling a little left out here. I met Jason's eye as he stood farther away with his brother, looking dashing in the tuxedo he paraded around earlier in. I smiled and noted the hungry look that flashed in his eyes. It was all the appreciation I wanted. Mom and dad came over to me and we waited for the bridal procession to start.

As the music started, Jennifer's friends, cousins, and siblings led the bridal procession, followed by her brothers and Jordan's friends. All eyes turned towards Jennifer as she walked with her dad from the clubhouse down the path and up the long aisle to the elevated area. Jason as best man was already there with Jordan as he waited for his bride.

I sat with aunt Sarah, uncle Kevin, and my family but my eyes were on Jason who glanced at me every now and then. However, what annoyed me were Jennifer's friends who stood beside her but eyed Jason instead. As if they didn't know that he was mine.

After the ceremony, the bride and groom posed for photographs on the lawns, alongside the club's impressive arched portico with the lake in the background. Jason and I also had our photographs taken, posing together when Jennifer's friends appeared out of nowhere to click a photograph with Jason.

"Jason, please one picture with me," said Rosalind, one of the friends while I seethed with anger, tightening my hold on his arm. When I didn't move away, she glared at me angrily. "Would you excuse us, please?" she gritted out.

I was angry beyond words and turned to face her. "Desperate, aren't you? Why don't you find yourself someone instead of my fiance?" I gritted out in a similar tone. Jason smiled proudly at me while Rosalind glared at me with her jaws dropped to the floor. "What will you do with a picture of him anyway? We'll be married next week while you stay stuck with only a picture of him all your life," I laughed and she gave me a look of disbelief. Jason laughed and picked me up in his arms seeing me in a mood for war and walked towards the reception party.

"My se*y spitfire," he whispered in my ears, and my heart raced with excitement.

"I understand now why you stayed away from women all your life," I told him and he grinned.

"Never from you willingly," he admitted and I smiled.

"I know," I said. He placed me down and we walked over to the reception party hosted at the club's President Ballroom, a setting that was both classic and elegant. Painted in pale cream and soft dove grey hues, it was illuminated by contemporary dome chandeliers suspended from the coffered ceiling. Floor-to-ceiling windows framed views of the verdant fairways, and glass doors opened directly onto the adjoining terrace. A beautiful grey planked wood floor was perfect for dancing the night away, while lovely wall sconces provide a romantic atmosphere.

A grand buffet was spread in the far end as guests helped themselves. Jason as the best man and Joanna, Jennifer's elder sister as maid of honor made their toasts—followed by the couple, and their parents. Dad, uncle Kevin, gave their speeches as well and we devoured the mouthwatering food. With Jason and Stefan sitting beside me, I felt on top of the world. They all asked about Jason's wedding and aunt Sarah and uncle Kevin proudly announced Jason and my wedding to all the guests present. Seeing the disappointed look on the faces of Jennifer's friends, I felt better. Jason fed me a spoonful of my favorite Quince and Cream layered dessert topped with raspberry sauce. I fed him a forkful of Braciole. He loved it immensely and served himself immediately.

After the first dance, Jason pulled me to the dance floor, wrapping me in his embrace. I snaked my arms around his neck and we danced to our heart's content. Soon many other couples too hit the dance floor, while my brothers danced with Jennifer's cousins. Tristan however didn't dance at all and chatted with Jordan's best friend instead. I knew he loved his best friend, Caleb's little sister and I left him alone. I loved dancing, and Jason was a very good dancer too, so we ignited the dance floor as everyone cheered us on.

After the cake cutting, Jennifer tossed me her bouquet and escaped with Jordan. I held the bouquet as aunt Sarah and mom grinned happily at me while the other guests cheered.

It was nearly the end of the ceremony, and we took our leave and left for home. It was a forty-minute drive home but it took longer because of the traffic. "You look gorgeous in this dress. Quartz suits you best, I think," he said and I smiled.

"Black suits you the best too," I said with a teasing smile.

"Yeah, no wonder Rosalind and Marlene were after me since the moment they set foot at the resort," laughed Jason but I seethed with a fresh bout of jealousy.

"So you were enjoying the attention, right?" I glared at him but he only laughed out louder.

"Wrong, I was checking your reaction instead but you were too busy with them to notice," he said and I glared at him more.

"If I didn't intervene, would you have clicked pictures with all of them?" I couldn't help but ask him, my whole body burning with jealousy.

"No, I would have told them that I wasn't available but I didn't. I wanted to see what you would do and I'm proud of you, love," he said, making my jealousy vanish instantly.

"I couldn't let them get away with all that flirting. I can fight all the female population in the world who are interested in what is mine," I stated and he nodded with a smile.

"So will I if any guy casts even a glance in your direction," he swore and I giggled knowing that we both felt alike.

We reached home and my heart raced to know the wild lovemaking he would start again like before. After the arrival of my family, we had refrained from physical intimacy as my brothers were in the cottage next to ours but now we were free. It had been on my mind ever since and I knew he hadn't been able to forget it as well.

He unlocked the door and we headed straight to our bedroom, without a word. A look was enough to communicate our needs to each other.
