Chapter 138: Chapter 138

Tristan's POV

"I'm sorry bro," said Caleb, all of a sudden. I waited for him to say more. "I shouldn't have let those bitches manipulate my head. I should have spoken to you before misunderstanding you," he said as he again got lost in his thoughts. "I am also sorry that I separated you two. I know Amy still hates me, and I would do anything to make her forgive me," he said quietly, looking at his hands.

"I knew deep in my heart that Daphne and Cassidy were lying but I was jealous. Very jealous that Amy was closer to you than she was to me. She loved you while she hated me. It became a challenge for me and I acted out of jealousy. I forced Scott upon her and she started hating me more. I should have made peace with you long back when mom spoke to you," said Caleb. I released the breath that I was holding. Thank God that Caleb finally came to his senses.

"Then accept our relationship Cal, show her that you care for her happiness. She needs to make peace with all her brothers before getting married. She's starting a new chapter of her life, your acceptance will make a big difference to her," I suggested since I knew Amelia wanted to be at peace with her only family, her brothers. Caleb looked overwhelmed to hear my words.

"Yes, I will. Thanks for talking to me. I'm sorry that I'd been a stuck-up as*hole to you for such a long time when we could have easily solved our differences," he said in self-mockery.

"That's true. I will beat the sh*t out of you one day. Vengeance," I said as he laughed. I felt more relieved that things had finally settled down to how it was before.

"I deserve it," he said with a sad smile.

"Just kidding, let's go inside," I said getting up and pulling him along with me.

We walked inside, everyone was in the family room, sitting and talking amongst themselves. They looked up at us, the atmosphere in the room, filled with tension. They looked shocked to see us both walk in together. I grinned at everyone and so did Caleb, and they all visibly relaxed. Caleb walked toward Amelia and sat down beside her. I saw the look of disbelief on Amelia's face. He caught her hand much to her apprehension. "I'm sorry, Amy, please forgive me for everything. I had misunderstood Tris and now that we have cleared our differences, I realize how wrong I really was," he said sincerely. Amelia's eyes filled up with tears and it broke my heart to see her upset. I sat on the other side of her to comfort her.

Amelia sobbed brokenly but Caleb placed an arm around her shoulders. "I forgive you, Cal. I'm glad that you both have sorted it out. I really wanted to make peace with all of you before getting married. Now that it's done, let's please forget everything," she said, looking at all her brothers. Leo walked up to her and Amy stood up to give him a hug.

"I'm happy for you, Amy. I've always wanted your happiness. If your happiness lies with Tris, I have no objection. Mom too wanted this and therefore I approve of your decision," Leo said while I looked at them with a smile. It felt good to know that Amelia was happy now. I could fulfill her wish and it made me happy that Amelia and her brothers were finally reconciled.

"Cal, now be prepared to work your a*s off at our wedding, as my best man," I teased as I clapped his back hard like old times making him groan.

"Ow," he winced, "Don't cripple me before making me your best man," he grinned like before. The women went inside dragging Amelia with them. "Stay for dinner, Tris," Leo said as I nodded.

The bell rang and Leo opened the door to Brandon and his wife, Catherine, and their 2-year-old son, Xavier. I had met them before when I had visited Amelia's mom here at Leo's house 2 years back. Catherine was pregnant with Xavier then.

"Hey, man, congratulations," said Brandon as he gave me a hug, "Welcome to the family," she said. I didn't bear any grudge against him since he and Amelia had already patched up.

"Thanks," I said returning the hug and forgetting our past enmity.

We stayed there talking for a few hours. After dinner, we came home. Amelia was ecstatic, she hugged me tightly and thanked me for patching up with Caleb.

"I know other ways of thanking me, baby doll," I whispered in her ear, biting it softly and inhaling her sweet, intoxicating smell, like vanilla and roses.

She blushed and hid her face in my chest as I laughed. Picking her up, I carried her to our bedroom. Her soft hands went around my neck as she nuzzled her face in the crook of my neck, kissing it softly. I groaned as I deposited her on my bed, and climbed on top of her. Kissing her lips passionately, I finally released her. "I want to kiss you," I told her with a wink.

"You just did," she pointed out confusedly.

I chuckled, "Not those, I meant these," I said as I placed my hands beneath her dress and hiking it placed my hands inside her panties and cupped her core.

Her harsh intake of breath indicated that she was excited. I was instantly aroused and my body heated up in anticipation. Wasting no time we made love over and over till we lay in each other's arms out of sheer exhaustion. It was bliss, and we were sated.

"How do you feel being engaged to me?" I asked in a whisper. She smiled, her eyes lighting up instantly.

"Mmmm, on top of the world. Blissful and complete," she said, closing her eyes and laying her head on my chest.
