Chapter 122: Chapter 122
Amelia's POV
"When's your bachelorette party, Anna?" asked one of Stefan's aunts. Stefan and Anna didn't want a bachelorette party, so they just wanted to settle for a huge dinner together, with lots of fun games and dancing.
"We're not having it, aunt Emily. We'll go for a family dinner instead," Anna told her.
"These days girls love a bachelorette pool party with lots of booze. It's the most happening thing now," said Eliana, Stefan's cousin.
"Anna isn't like the other girls and I'm glad," said mom defending Anna. We smiled at one another.
"Oh," said Eliana, looking disappointed.
"Be ready tonight for the barbecue and bonfire in the evening," said mom. "Put up a dance show for us, girls," said mom, looking at us. We grinned at her. Of course! We loved dancing!
"You're so lucky, Audi, you've got such beautiful girls as your daughter-in-law," said aunt Kathy, who was dad's sister.
"Amelia dear, are you planning to get married next or Cassandra is? Audi, this time, inform us at least two weeks ahead," asked aunt Sally, mom's youngest sister. I and Cassandra choked on our spit. Why did everyone ask the same question, again and again, every day?
"Yeah, sure," said mom, ignoring the rest of her question as dad called her and she left.
We couldn't be more excited. We looked forward to the bonfire. The girls were planning a dance and forced me into it as well.
"Please Anna. Let's do something different," coaxed Claire.
"Fine, let's practice with easy-to-do steps," I said. We all went to my room and we danced to our heart's content.
"We'll wear floral maxis, boho style," said Cassandra excitedly.
So while we were gearing up to bowl the men over with our performance, the guys were up to their own planning. We waited eagerly to see what they would be up to. The boys sang a heartfelt romantic song for us. Tristan joined in the song as well as played an electric guitar. I was hypnotized by his performance. Deep down in my heart, I had the feeling that he was singing for me, that he meant every word he sang. That he loved me?
"Look into my eyes
You will see
What you mean to me
Search your heart
Search your soul
And when you find me there
You'll search no more
Don't tell me it's not worth tryin' for
You can't tell me it's not worth dyin' for
You know it's true
Everything I do, I do it for you
........
Oh, you can't tell me it's not worth tryin' for
I can't help it, there's nothin' I want more
Yeah, I would fight for you
I'd lie for you
Walk the wire for you
Yeah, I'd die for you
You know it's true
Everything I do, I do it for you."
I closed my eyes as tears of happiness fell from them. The song touched my heart and my soul. I realized that I wanted him completely. I wanted him to make love to me, every day, every night, forever. I wanted my happily ever after with him but I had never ever confessed my feelings for him. I would have to show him how much I loved him.
We had our dinner and the party was over and everyone planned to retire for the night. Tomorrow was the wedding day and we would need to wake up early.
"Remember, what I said yesterday night? No noises in the middle of the night. All the family is here, don't embarrass me," Mom whispered at us before going to her room.
"Yes mom," the boys chorused as we giggled. Mom smiled and left.
We also left for our rooms, too tired to even tease anyone. Tomorrow we have to wake up early and get ready for the wedding. However, the moment we entered our room, Tristan locked the door and turned toward me with a solemn expression on his face.
"I might have to leave for Paris after the wedding. An emergency has come up," said Tristan with a sad look on his face. I was disappointed and dejected at his announcement but I decided to hide my feelings. Work should be the top priority for him now. I wasn't going anywhere.
"How long will you be gone?" I asked, cupping his cheek tenderly. He looked unhappily at me.
"Two weeks minimum, maybe more." He said, leaning into my palm. I gasped with surprise. I hadn't expected him to be gone for that long.
"How will I stay without you for so long?" It slipped out of my mouth as I clamped my mouth shut with my palm.
He groaned and pulled me into his chest as we lay down on the bed. "I know, I don't want to go. Will you come with me?" He asked tentatively.
"I can't Jay. Who will manage the shop for so long?" I said as he nodded and closed his eyes. I felt so bad declining his offer but I had already taken 4 days' leave, how would I be able to take more than 2 weeks leave? My clients would be devastated. They had already paid me lump sum advance payments for the wedding dresses.
He held me tightly to his chest as we quietly lay in each other's arms, thinking about how to stay away from each other for so long.
