Chapter 88: Chapter 88
Chapter 88 Lady in White
MAIA'S POV?
"Hello, Maia," a voice said.
I turned around and saw a lady in a shining, white dress. She was shining so bright like the sun that I could hardly see her face.
"Who are you? How do you know me?" I asked.
"The answers to those questions do not matter, my child. What matters is you listen carefully to what I am about to tell you," she replied.
I adjusted my hand that was covering my eyes, hoping that I could see her. Unfortunately, it was of no use.
"A great war is coming. You have to be careful with who you trust and who you allow to help. Not everyone who says they will help is actually going to help. Some are there to backstab you. Under no circumstance, you should leave your mate alone. You should look out for him," the lady said.
"Wait! When is this great war coming?" I asked.
"Soon," she replied.
"How soon?" I asked again.
"Remember my words, my child. Be wise," she said before the light became too bright.
I had to cover my face with my arms and my hands in fear of going blind from the brightness of the light.
By the time the light was dimmed, I could see nothing but complete darkness.
"Hello? Is anybody out there?" I asked, hoping someone would answer.
I waited for a couple of seconds but heard no sounds.
Even with my werewolf eyes, I could not see anything.
'What kind of darkness is this that I can't see anything?' I asked myself.
'It's dark because your eyes are not an open genius,' Avi said.
'What do you mean my eyes are closed? I just saw that lady with bright lights. I am pretty sure my eyes were open.' I argued.
'Why don't you just try it?' She rebutted.
I did as she asked and slowly opened my eyes. I quickly shut my eyes closed the moment the brightness almost blinded me.
'Why is it always too bright? Damn it!' I scoffed in my head.
I slowly opened my eyes again until it adjusted to the brightness in the room.
'This is not my room,' I said in my head.
I looked around the room and realized that it was Lucius' room.
I sat up on the bed and noticed that I was alone in the room.
"I wonder where Lucius is right now," I asked out loud as I got out of bed.
As I made my way to the bathroom, memories of last night came flashing back. I couldn't help but blush.
After my walk down to memory lane, I finished my morning business.
When I finished changing my clothes, I made my way to Lucius' office.
"We need to plan for the attack. If they are preparing to attack, we need to be prepared," a voice that sounded like Lucius said.
I opened the door and asked, "An attack?"
"Maia, what are you doing here? You should be resting," Lucius asked, running over to my side.
"What is going on?" I asked again.
"It's nothing you should be worried about. Why are you not in bed?" He replied, asking why I was in his office.
"I am fine. Tell me what attack you are talking about?" I insisted.
"Why don't you sit down and I will tell you about it?" He suggested.
I nodded my head and followed him.
"Let's continue this later," he told the rest of the people in his office, dismissing them.
Once everyone left the office, he led me to the couch.
"We got some news that the packs were teaming up and rumors had it that they were preparing to attack our pack. We are still trying to figure out the root of all of this. Until we know all the details for sure, we need to keep everyone safe and on high alert." he explained.
"Wait. Why will they attack us? Aren't they our allies?" I asked.
"They are. That is why we are investigating this issue right now. I need to know the reason behind their possible treason," he replied.
"There is something that I have to tell you." I said in a low voice.
"What is it? Did something happen?" He asked, looking worried.
I looked around and grabbed a pen and paper. He looked at me like I was a crazy person.
``We need to talk somewhere private. Just the two of us.'
I wrote on the paper. I put my finger on my lips then my ears to let him know to be quiet. He gave me a nod and wrote something on the paper.
'Follow me'
He left his office and went to the elevator. I followed him until he stopped behind a tree.
When I saw him undressing, I fumed right away.
"Why are you still closing your eyes when there are all yours to see?" He asked, laughing.
"Just get over it and shift," I said, covering my face with my hands.
Luckily, he couldn't see my face that was already red as a tomato.
After a couple of seconds, I heard the cracking of bones and then I felt a nudge on my leg.
A smile crept up my face as I watched Lucian crouched in front of me.
"How are you? I hope Lucius is not giving you much of a headache," I asked, patting his head.
He let out a snort as if he was disagreeing and I couldn't help but stifle a laugh.
"Sorry. I'll try to let him go cast on you, okay?" I said.
After one last pat on his head, I got on his back and held tight on his neck.
He ran through a familiar path and stopped by the waterfalls.
As soon as I got off his back, I waited for him to shift back to his human form.
"What did you want to talk about in private?" He asked.
I turned around and took a deep breath.
"I had a prophecy in my dream. More like a warning," I said.
After I told him everything, he stared at me for a couple of seconds as if he was thinking about something.
"I think that the lady in white you were talking about is the Moon Goddess," he said, his voice almost a whisper.
"The Moon Goddess?" I asked.
It was said that if the Moon Goddess shows up to you in your dream or in person, you will be blessed greatly.
"It is possible," he simply replied.
A smile caught up on my face as the thought of the Moon Goddess appeared in my dream.
"Could it be?" I asked myself.
